I don't generally like leaving comments saying this whole article is just stupid, but this whole article is just stupid.

I wouldn't have even noticed there was anything "wrong" if you hadn't written an article about it. Just looks like plain old Mario to me.

I always wanted to like the originals, but just found the puzzles too frustrating and never finished any of them. Reluctant to give this one a go on that basis.

A list of names is not an "infographic".

@AndyC_MK111 More to the point, in a few years' time, you almost certainly won't have good health, no disabilities, and good sight and hearing. There's a reason some people with disabilities call the rest of us "the not-yet disabled".

@RubyCarbuncle There’s plenty to be gained from it. How many stories have now been written about his Twitch channel, which 99% of us had never heard of before and is doubtless monetised because nobody just does it for fun these days? I’m sure he’ll have had a healthy spike in his subs that’ll pay for a new TV and more.

I’m sure this was an absolutely genuine accident and not in any way just a promotional stunt for his Twitch channel.

I only ever had a GBA, and I can't remember a single one of the games I had for it. So I'm guessing I won't be rushing to try any more.

Never got the love for Sensi Soccer, I’m afraid. Much preferred Dino Dini’s Kick Off and Goal! games.

Lego tried something similar to stop Americans calling the bricks "Legos". That never worked either.

@sisodinr Can’t see us ever getting the main F1 game on Switch, but a bit surprised Codemasters haven’t tried to port their mobile F1 game (or asked Feral to do it for them) before now.

@Ryu_Niiyama Pong was certainly well-known in the UK, and still well-remembered among us Gen X'ers, at least. To a lot of people under 30 I'd guess the British English definition would probably come to mind first, though.

shrug I only watched it a handful of times, and I was never aware they worked for Nintendo in the first place.

@Moistnado Most Americans pay sales tax on digital downloads too. It's just not included in the price you see online because it's calculated at checkout and varies by state.

Who are these people who can blast through these "in a single sitting"? I've finished one of them, which took several sessions over a couple of weeks. I'm who-knows-how-far through two or three of the others, but nowhere near finished after a good half dozen sessions on each of them.

@Strictlystyles "That dev" is the one who has ported many GTA and other Rockstar games before. So in theory they were a good choice, but clearly the project turned out to be too ambitious.

Presumably nobody at Nintendo America had ever used any workstations made by SGI or Sun Microsystems…

I mean, it's a disappointing port as ports go, but it's hardly unplayable. If you enjoyed playing it on PS2, the experience isn't really worse, just poor in different ways.

Still have all the original games and all the original consoles to play them on, so don't see much point buying them again.

Nothing smaller than a washing machine ever looks good in white, so red+blue for me. (If I ever bought one, which I probably won't.)

@AmplifyMJ Trouble is, Nintendo is selling so many bucketloads of Switches right now, and FIFA is such a popular franchise, that there are enough people buying their first Switch FIFA game to make it sell that well. And as the first FIFA game you'll ever play on Switch, it's... fine.

@The_Pixel_King I didn't have a SNES, but I did play that World Championship Racing game (and the earlier "Nigel Mansell's Grand Prix") on my ZX Spectrum, which was 11-year-old technology by then, and even on that it was pretty fun. However, by then I'd also discovered Geoff Crammond's Formula One Grand Prix on the Amiga, and that was the one that devoured all my time for a good couple of years.

@The_Pixel_King I do, at Estoril. There have been some jaw-dropping collisions over the years, for sure. Christian Fittipaldi literally somersaulting over the finish line at Monza in 1993 is another that springs to mind, as does Martin Brundle's huge shunt with David Coulthard in Australia.

@The_Pixel_King Weirdly the crash itself didn’t look particularly bad, certainly survivable even in those days. It was only as the medics kept working that you realised something else must have happened beyond the G-forces involved. It was nothing like Grosjean’s crash last season for example, where you immediately thought “he’s not getting out of that”… even though amazingly, he did.

Been wanting to play this for years, hope the port does it justice.

@twztid13 The same way developers quite regularly manage to improve performance of existing software, I guess. First make it work, then make it fast, and all that.

@OorWullie Perhaps the most relevant other one being Rush Rally 3 for Switch, which is also really good.

@RichyM A pity the Switch version doesn't seem to have all the graphical niceties of the PC version (especially the crowds). Fortunately I'm more used to the Mac version anyway, which doesn't have those either.

I've only ever played two of them, and one of those was the pinball.

@onex The first trailer shows footage from the replay modes, if I remember correctly. There are multiple camera options while you're driving, but they're all static chase cams.

Looking forward to it, but shame it looks like it'll have the same graphical limitations as the Mac version, with no spectators spilling on to the track and diving out the way as you approach.

@Benjinat Well, except reversing the symptoms for some as-yet unknown length of time is very different from fixing the root cause.

@Clyde_Radcliffe Same. I find ASMR videos unbearable, makes me want to almost literally scream. Apparently that means we have "misophonia", although I don't mind hearing most of the same sounds in real life.
