One of the most amazing things about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is that it has many mechanics which can impact things in the game; systems working against systems which lend the title an uncanny sense of realism.
One player has found a rather interesting way of playing the game against itself, and it all revolves around the chicken-like Cucco bird, a common feature in Zelda titles over the years. As series veterans will know, harassing these seemingly harmless birds results in them turning on you in dramatic fashion; the "Angry Cucco" becomes enraged and summons a horde of other Cuccos to get revenge.
Videogamedunkey's video shows how you can use this aspect of the game against other enemies (be warned, the video features bad language). Simply grab a Cucco and carry it towards a group of enemies. Chances are, one of their attacks will connect with the bird and trigger the "Angry Cucco" event, but instead of going after Link they will swarm the enemy which hit them - plus any other enemies nearby.
Have you discovered this secret, or any other cool ones in the game? Let us know with a comment.

Spoiler alert please! The game only finally arrived today and I haven't had a chance to play it yet.
This is simply amazing! (I always wanted to do this in the main game)
@SLIGEACH_EIRE What does this spoil? A way to deal damage? Lol
Hahaa, this is great. There are so many subtle things the devs thought of when making this.
The best part is, if you can think it...you can do it (for the most part).
I can't wait to try now
The Legend of Zelda: donkey breath
Gotta try this later lol.
What about the final boss? xD
Are the cucco's more powerful than Ganon?
@SLIGEACH_EIRE finally! I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it, I'm loving it so far and I feel like I've literally done nothing but muck about lol
That video shows lots of cool stuff you can do with the sandboxy nature of the game. And this kind of emergent gameplay is why the game is so cool, and so much fun.
OMG, can I use a Cucco against a Lynel (or whatever that giant OP enemy's name is)? Because that would seriously help me out a lot, LOL! This is awesome!
@crackafreeze I know, I can't til my eyes are all bloodshot.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Have fun, must have been a long week.
@Dangerous25 Same as me,I've put in over 30 hours and I feel like I've barely advanced the story. Mucking about is too much fun.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Enjoy man.
@NickOfTime90 Thanks. Ya, I was one of those Amazon customers that had problems. Should have been sent out last Thursday but was posted Monday morning. I had 2 games in my order, they were meant to post Zelda Express Post but they sent the wrong game in Express Post and Zelda in the snail mail. In fairness, Amazon customer service were very nice, gave me a £5 discount on my next order for the delay and then a £5 goodwill refund for the second delay.
Anyway, it's finally here, downloading the 3GB patch now and then I will be lost to the world for quite some time I expect.
@DarthFoxMcCloud
I'm on him right now (well, I wound up sneaking around him and grabbing his stuff) and that was my first thought upon seeing this headline.
I wonder how easily one could get a cucco up there though...
This game is stacking up to be one of the greatest games i've played not to even mention one of the greatest zelda games period! def something to keep me satisfied for the whole summer at least! https://youtu.be/OU10JpFx8O8
Lol, was just showing that video to a friend yesterday. And now its news.
Predicting the futuuuuuure.
Seriously though, this week's been frikkin horrible in the way of news/games. Good. God.
This game is so zany. Nintendo seriously dropped the mic.
EDIT: @SLIGEACH_EIRE Amazon got me too, but your new precious is here. I hope you don't have friends and family that care about you...because you won't see them much. This game is insane.
Never mess with Cuccos, or they'll make a mess of you (or your enemies).
the same "trick" worked in SSB too, "give" another player a cucco and watch the chaos.
it's also funny shooting a beehive near an enemy camp, and watching the chaos as the bees chase down everything that moves.
A great example for why this is such a great game. They've put in so much attention to detail, you won't find any other game on any system that does that.
Hmm.... I will have to give this a try against [redacted] this weekend when I am in the [redacted] [redacted] of [redacted] and come upon a [redacted] in a [redacted] with a [redacted] [redacted].
Spoilers please? Please take into account that even though this game has been out for a week and the majority of people that would pick up this game and played have done so, you need to take into account the small minority such as myself who have somehow not played this game and alter all of your articles and content accordingly
Awesome! They thought of everything.
You can bet I am going to take advantage of this feature tremendously once I get to play the game. Even if it is for nothing else but a good laugh, which I am sure there will be plenty.
I just can't stop playing. I wake up everyday as happy and excited to play as launch day. It's honestly annoying to have to stop for sleep and other real life things. I want to do nothing other than play Zelda and I don't see this feeling/urge/obsession going away anytime soon, nor do I want it too.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Don't worry, this is hardly a spoiler, especially if you've played Zelda. You are going to be so engrossed in everything else in the game you won't care about the Cuccos.
Another cool thing that I discovered was this.
Pull out a square bomb, put it on the ground.
Equip you Koroko leaf.
Go into your menu and select/equip an octo balloon.
Put it on the bomb, hey presto, a floating bomb!
Now use your leaf to blow it in the direction the enemy camp is in, be careful though as it flies a fair way.
Use your arrows to shoot it when it's above the camp!
Awesome!
