Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Checking Out Switch Online's Virtual Boy Service?

I might bite on the full replica of the VB. Always wanted one when I was 9 years old, but I wasn't able to get it when I had the chance.

Another reason why I might want to buy it, there could be a future for a DS and 3DS apps with any additional DS type screen. Retroid is shipping one for their Pocket devices, so this could be an easy one for Nintendo when adding another screen to give a shell feel. I doubt Nintendo would base sales on the VB unit for the DS/3DS, but it would be encouraging for other cool NSO only devices.

I would expect the DS/3DS games to function on the Switch 2 only and the hardware screen would be optional.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds

Looks fun, but I'm going to wait on it. Felt really burned on Team Sonic Racing verus Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed, but it looks like they got a bit closer to the latter. This might be more grindier than Mario Kart World, which could be fun, but knowing SEGA I'm expecting some kind of catch and pay wall.

Re: Resident Evil Requiem Has Been Officially Confirmed For Switch 2

progx

@SBandy1 probably coming later in 2026 would be my guess, likely summer or fall...? It would be a bit much to announce six games coming on one release date, especially when Requiem is the big new release. VII and VIII are connected to it, so I understand why those two are coming the same day.

Re: Dragon Quest VII Gets Reimagined For Switch And Switch 2 In Early 2026

Well, I’m going to get this on the Switch 2 no matter what… it might be digital, but I have other DQ games physically. I understand the hurdles Madden, NBA 2K and Star Wars Outlaws could have with a game card, but is this one really need the bandwidth of the MicroSD Express or internal storage? From what I’ve seen on the Direct, it could run on a 64GB card…? Right?

Re: Rumour: Sony Is Gunning For The Switch 2 With A Handheld, Dockable PS6

If they're going to be using some kind of AMD APU to power it, then it will be slightly better in battery life than a handheld PC. It will likely be pretty bulky too.

Unless they're making the jump to ARM... AMD does have a license and builds them for servers, not consumer devices. Outside of Apple, Nvidia is really the only best option for ARM-based gaming devices.

Qualcomm is okay. Mediatek is better than Qualcomm.

Samsung makes one as well, but I'm not so sure if Exynos would exist outside of their devices like Apple.

Re: Review: Kirby And The Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World - Kirby's Best Shines Even Brighter

@rjejr it isn’t a port, it’s the Switch game with the full DLC and Switch 2 patch. The Switch 2 Edition includes both versions of the game, so you can play the same copy of it on a regular Switch if you wanted to as well; you’re just not getting the S2 patch and DLC.

I paid $20 for it since I already had it. If you want, just go find a used Switch copy somewhere and pay $20 for the Switch 2 edition that comes with DLC.

Re: Switch 2 Sales In The US Are Outpacing The Original Console By 75%

progx

@Serpenterror I think that number is much less after seeing other software sales. What you’re mentioning is over 800,000 units with the number here. I’d say it’s much less than that.

Also, in Nintendo’s eyes, these were units purchased by retailers, so they’re sold to them. When Nintendo reports the user base in their next quarterly will give a good idea.

Re: Developers Reportedly Still Struggling To Get Switch 2 Dev Kits

progx

@Vyacheslav333 doubtful. I think it comes down to Nintendo wanting to make sure the original Switch is still supported because of its giant user base. Also, making sure Switch 2 units are out for sale to curb scalpers.

@johnnymind, because Nintendo bashing gets you clicks. Same with hitting other companies like Apple. No matter how well they do, they were the underdog that people like to kick never goes away.

Re: Former PlayStation Head Praises Nintendo For Being "In Touch With Their Fan Base"

@AllBLK not every Switch owner is that in tune with the industry. Shawn is right to a point. Some of their fans and consumers are content, but the vocal group is the minority who feel everything the company does should appeal to them. It’s the same issue Apple is dealing with for their products; and it’s not the crazy (they were quieted down during the Intel transition).
