@Kalmaro I find creature catching and training tedious. That's why I hated the familiars, haven't ever enjoyed Pokemon, and couldn't get into Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance.

The graphics and music were excellent, I never felt bored while traversing that world and visiting the towns. The story kept my interest and the boss battles were excellent. But I HATED the familiars, to the point where I probably won't pick this release up.

Self censorship is a clearly defined concept, even if you choose to ignore its existence.

@NIN10DOXD That's exactly what I am going to do. I won't support those practices, regardless of who censored the game or why it was censored. Self censorship isn't any better than being censored by an outside entity. Judging by your profile picture, I'm sure you know how Atlus themselves have been an excellent example of that.

Furthermore, if the line was so inconsequential, why go out of your way as a company to patch it out of a game that has already been out for over a month's worth of customers to have already read?

I was about to finally pull the trigger and buy this game, but this article saved me 60 dollars. Not supporting censorship, especially not on games that have already been released. That’s a new low.

A vile business in several aspects, but unfortunately the mostly rural areas of the US don't have many other options for physical games. I guess I'll be switching to digital.

@hakjie11 I really don't know what more you could want from AC without changing what the series fundamentally is. We have crafting, furniture outdoors, more tangible rewards for completing goals, better graphics, path creation, food consumption with what might be cooking, and more customization than ever before.

There's something really disturbing about seeing what basically looks like gourmet hot dog weenies on top of that curry. Put some shrimp, tofu, or chicken on it and we're in business.

I couldn’t get into 2, will I like this one? I enjoyed the combat somewhat, but didn’t care for the characters or the performance on handheld.

@commentlife For a new IP, that score certainly is amazing. But Famitsu will give a high score to anything that is relatively popular, hence why Kingdom Hearts 3 and the recent Final Fantasy games have been given near perfect scores when they didn’t really deserve them.

@Browny I agree. The people who obsessively manage every little detail of their town couldn’t possibly find AC to be a relaxing experience if they found themselves not being able to play every day.

I have heard some similarities between this soundtrack and NieR Automata, so I was wondering if Keiichi Okabe was scoring this game too. But it not being him makes the sound this composer has created even more impressive.

Gamescom is a good event, but I’m hyping myself up for Tokyo Game Show next month. I have a good feeling about Shin Megami Tensei 5 being shown 🤩🤩🤩

Can’t support nonsense like this, so I won’t be buying these games I would have otherwise been interested in.

I really did not enjoy the Witcher 3 at all. It was marketed as a good entry point for newcomers to the series, even by CDPR themselves. But I found myself consistently lost by the lore brought up from previous games and not caring about most of the characters. This series in general is the last thing I want to see flood NintendoLife’s site 🤮🤮🤮

@Xelha Unfortunately the MUA games have always had b***s*** DLC practices. The first game had platform exclusive characters, and 2 had pre order bonus characters that were never released later on cringes

@60frames-please Are you supposed to be some kind of meme or something? I’m surprised you’re not on IMDB pushing for 60 frames on the latest blockbuster films.

For such a high level of pedigree and talent to have worked on Yookah Laylee, the end product was a pretty disappointing and unpolished experience. Hopefully this new shakeup of gameplay will make for a better product.

They should have ported 1 and 2 instead of this hot garbage.

It’s really hard for me to picture a high action game like Platinum is known for to be playable on handheld with such a small screen and cheap joysticks like what the joy con has. I never played Bayonetta handheld, so maybe somebody could vouch for it being a good way to play. But docked with a pro controller is definitely the most viable way to play these types of games.

This will be an excellent game to play on the Switch Lite 🥰🥰

It’s hard to see how something as bargain bin as Jackbox can make a go on a system with so many party games on it already, but there surely is an audience for it somewhere.

Not really sure why 3 of the top 5 are ports, when 3DS original games like Luigi's Mansion 2 and Shin Megami Tensei 4 are lower or didn't even make the list. Just because it has the name Zelda in it, it doesn't automatically trump every other game

Its still disappointing to see such a small number of third party studios making Switch exclusive games. Mario Rabbids should have shown these studios how lucrative a well made Switch exclusive can sell, but it’s been 2 years and there is still so little to play that isn’t a Nintendo game or an indie. AA mid budget games is the biggest hole in the Switch library. That’s why I really hope games like Astral Chain and Shin Megami Tensei 5 will have great sales.

This game looks bargain bin at best.

Atlus reminds me of pre Switch Nintendo in a lot of ways. They publish games of the highest quality, but you gotta wade through a good bit of outdated business practices and terrible communication with fans to get to them 😂
