I think Nintendo and their fans would benefit from having 3-4 general directs a year that includes Nintendo titles, 3rd party, and indie games. Directs that are in the same timeframe every year so we’re not having to constantly guess what Nintendo is doing. That level of transparency in their plans would be better as less frequent but longer directs would guarantee to have something for almost everyone instead of these shorter specific directs that differ wildly in quality.
I never noticed this before, but Smash apparently only has stereo sound. If it gets an update, they need to add surround options. Kind of weird to think a big game release in 2018 only had stereo.
@Lofoten I agree, designing her to look like a teenager with a child’s height is gross. Maybe the Odd Rock design will be a costume you can use for the rest of the game.
I think the rumored "C" button being a feature where a Switch 1 system connects to the Switch 2 like a Wii U screen would have been a lot cooler than this chat feature. Nintendo would have never asked non-Switch 1 adopters to basically have to buy two systems to have access to that feature, but this chat idea is not something that needs to be the primary selling point of the Switch 2 as it's done better by other platforms.
@ScottyG Couldn't agree more. If you're enough of a gamer to know about these third-party releases, but only want to use Nintendo hardware to play them, then the problem is kind of on you.
I really hope that we have more Switch 2 games on the horizon, especially for the holiday season. It would be weird for them to rely solely on a nonmainline Pokémon game that's also on Switch 1 to be Nintendo's big holiday release. I don't really think Metroid Prime 4 would be big enough for a first-year holiday game, either.
This was the system that I had planned to switch to physical media, but now, outside of Nintendo games, there really doesn't seem to be a point in doing so.
It's crazy that no Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, or Persona entry is on the most wanted list. The time between games takes way too long, and it hurts as a huge fan of each franchise!
@TheBoilerman People tend to make the things they like part of their identity. If something is more popular than or is directly compared to their console, food, etc., of choice, then it's almost taken as a personal attack on themselves that something might be "better" than their choice/identity. These companies also advertise their products in ways that encourage their audience to personally identify with the product to drive more sales and word-of-mouth advertising. It's all just a big mess, and giving people online forums to find like-minded individuals or making it more anonymous to voice your opinions means it's even worse now!
They really should have announced a new title at the Direct. Even if it's going to be a holiday or a 2026 title, it would have been good for the many fans of this series to have something new to look forward to. The holiday lineup seems sparse, maybe Kirby and Pokemon, but we should have one more big game to latch on to: animal Crossing, 3D Mario, one more wow game to pad out the schedule.
The YouTube channels Nintendo shut down had more extensive libraries of VGM and they weren’t locked behind the NSO paywall. I guess this is why they were busy with the copyright strikes. Shame.
@johnvboy I'm saying we don't know if it's actually going to be a new Switch or something totally different. Even if it is, it may not be backwards compatible. Hence why there's a chance this game locked at its current unstable frame rate.
People are hoping that the Switch 2 will be a beefier Switch, but I doubt it. Nintendo’s next console is going to be something totally different, so these Switch games running poorly is as good as it’s going to get.
I’ve burned bridges at most of the jobs I’ve left! Luckily I was always moving to different professions, but if you’ve done something like that in the past it’s nothing to start being paranoid about. The world is still a big place!
I finally got around to finishing Mario 3D World and Bowser's Fury on the Switch so I would say that was my Switch GOTY so far. That might change when I dive into the Pikmin series since all of the numbered entries are now on Switch.
My GOTY in general is Final Fantasy XVI. The eikon battles are something special.
This era of gaming always makes me a little sad. I never had an N64 growing up because I started my gaming hobby when the PS2 and Gamecube were already out. Any time I try to revisit games from this generation, it just is not a good experience for me. The visuals often give me a headache and the N64 controller feels awkward. I've made peace with this generation of gaming not being for me, and hope that Nintendo will continue to remake some of the beloved games from this era like they did with Super Mario RPG.
I would never complain about a 6 remake. I hope they also decide to remaster the 13 trilogy for PS5 so that every mainline game excluding 11 can be on one system.
It's surprising to see so much negativity about this game and studio. Some people are probably salty that it might overtake Zelda as game of the year if it releases in time.
Hollow Knight was amazing, and I don't expect Silksong to be any different.
Despite my love for Persona, I have only played and beaten the original Persona 4 on the PS2. I’m looking forward to playing Golden for the first time on my PS5, and maybe buying portable down the road. I wish we had gotten FES instead.
It’s not the most frustrating thing I’ve attempted, but I’m currently fighting the Organization XIII bosses from the Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC on critical mode. The general consensus is that you have to cheese most of them to win, but I’m having fun with it and just beat Vanitas after figuring out how to counter his moves.
@KindofaBigDeal Well NL does get a cut through affiliate links as I imagine most other sites do. So it might be in their best interests to give a review that isn’t too scathing.

@neil9000 I didn't know that. I just got my surround setup and have enjoyed several Switch games with it, including Splatoon and Zelda.

Re: Don't Worry, You Won't Lose Your Animal Crossing: New Horizons Island On Switch 2
