Re: Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase July 2025: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer

I think Nintendo and their fans would benefit from having 3-4 general directs a year that includes Nintendo titles, 3rd party, and indie games. Directs that are in the same timeframe every year so we’re not having to constantly guess what Nintendo is doing. That level of transparency in their plans would be better as less frequent but longer directs would guarantee to have something for almost everyone instead of these shorter specific directs that differ wildly in quality.

Re: Talking Point: Are You Excited At All For Switch 2 GameChat?

I think the rumored "C" button being a feature where a Switch 1 system connects to the Switch 2 like a Wii U screen would have been a lot cooler than this chat feature. Nintendo would have never asked non-Switch 1 adopters to basically have to buy two systems to have access to that feature, but this chat idea is not something that needs to be the primary selling point of the Switch 2 as it's done better by other platforms.

Re: Xbox's Latest Multiplatform Release Has Been Announced

I really hope that we have more Switch 2 games on the horizon, especially for the holiday season. It would be weird for them to rely solely on a nonmainline Pokémon game that's also on Switch 1 to be Nintendo's big holiday release. I don't really think Metroid Prime 4 would be big enough for a first-year holiday game, either.

Re: Opinion: Steam Deck Fans Are Seriously Underestimating The Switch 2

@TheBoilerman People tend to make the things they like part of their identity. If something is more popular than or is directly compared to their console, food, etc., of choice, then it's almost taken as a personal attack on themselves that something might be "better" than their choice/identity. These companies also advertise their products in ways that encourage their audience to personally identify with the product to drive more sales and word-of-mouth advertising. It's all just a big mess, and giving people online forums to find like-minded individuals or making it more anonymous to voice your opinions means it's even worse now!

Re: Don't Worry, You Won't Lose Your Animal Crossing: New Horizons Island On Switch 2

They really should have announced a new title at the Direct. Even if it's going to be a holiday or a 2026 title, it would have been good for the many fans of this series to have something new to look forward to. The holiday lineup seems sparse, maybe Kirby and Pokemon, but we should have one more big game to latch on to: animal Crossing, 3D Mario, one more wow game to pad out the schedule.

Re: Poll: What's Your Game Of The Year Of 2023 So Far?

I finally got around to finishing Mario 3D World and Bowser's Fury on the Switch so I would say that was my Switch GOTY so far. That might change when I dive into the Pikmin series since all of the numbered entries are now on Switch.

My GOTY in general is Final Fantasy XVI. The eikon battles are something special.

Re: Best Nintendo 64 Platformers - Every N64 3D Platformer, Ranked By You

This era of gaming always makes me a little sad. I never had an N64 growing up because I started my gaming hobby when the PS2 and Gamecube were already out. Any time I try to revisit games from this generation, it just is not a good experience for me. The visuals often give me a headache and the N64 controller feels awkward. I've made peace with this generation of gaming not being for me, and hope that Nintendo will continue to remake some of the beloved games from this era like they did with Super Mario RPG.
