Re: The Detective Pikachu Movie Reviews Are In, And It's Actually Pretty Mixed

penamiguel92

I took a film studies course where they do things like analyzing camera angles, lighting, and a bunch of mundane things for the sake of reviewing a director's skill, or something like that. Basically, the normies are not going to like this movie because it focuses more on fanservice instead of how well the narrative is put together or whatever. Long story short, that class was really boring and I would not recommend it. I'll trust the video game focused sites more than the mainstream reviewers.

Re: Early Mortal Kombat 11 Switch Impressions Sound Promising, 60fps Is The Target

penamiguel92

I'm willing to bet that a studio that knew how to port games to the 360 was hired. All they need to do is upscale the game to the power of the switch. It's that simple, yet developers these days think that removing assets is the way to optimize their games, which is clearly not true. Case in point: Doom versus Xenon Racer. Granted they're not the same genre, but there are 360 games that look better than the switch version of Xenon Racer. As someone pointed it out to me, the game doesn't even have shadows... How a developer manages to screw that up is beyond me. Clearly the programming team is to blame.

Re: 3DClouds Responds To Criticism Of The Switch Version Of Xenon Racer

@FTL Yeah, that's true. I thought they at least had GameCube era shadows in there, but I suppose not. Developers these days think that removing visual elements will improve performance, but overlook inefficient code. Even the most powerful computer will struggle to run poorly optimized code.
Edit: I know that from experience. A VR ready laptop was running at 30FPS when I had poorly optimized code running, but then after optimization it rose close to 60 fps.

Re: Random: Store Your Cardboard Creations In This Official Nintendo Labo Box

penamiguel92

If you need to buy a labo themed cardboard box to store cardboard, when any large cardboard box will suffice, then you're doing this whole learning thing wrong. I think Nintendo knows that there is a good number of people stupid enough to buy an expensive cardboard box for storing cardboard creations. This many cardboards is intentional, because I'm trying to waste your time reading this.

Re: Poll Confirms That Sobble Is The Most Popular Pokémon Sword And Shield Starter

penamiguel92

My first main series Pokemon game was Platinum. My starters since then were: Turtwig, Cyndaquil ,Tepig, Froakie, Treecko, and Rowlet(Platinum, Soul Silver, Black 2, Y, Omega Ruby, and Sun respectively)(I refuse to acknowledge Eevee as a starter, so Bulbasaur for Let's go) The trend here is mostly grass starters with the occasional water or fire type. This time Sobble will be my chosen one, since the grass starter screams Chimchar all over again but grass. We also already have a grass monkey(all three types actually),so why another one? Sorry Grookey fans.

Re: Takahashi, Miyamoto And Shiota Discuss Proportion Of Female Employees In Nintendo’s Development Departments

penamiguel92

Why is this even a thing? It's obvious there are female employees at Nintendo. Why even ask? Why even make it relevant? People's priorities need to change, seriously...

Edit: Also, who cares what proportion of developers at Nintendo are woman? If they do their job well, then that's all that matters. Nobody should hire people based on gender, and they shouldn't be obligated to have a specific proportion. It's a stupid idea.

Re: Nintendo Tokyo Store Opening This Fall

penamiguel92

I'm doing a better job than most market analysts. I predicted the Switch's success back in Feb. 2016! While everyone was selling stocks because they had no confidence. Make sure to buy Nintendo stock right now since it is going to explode when the Tokyo Olympics occurs. Look at the evidence, Nintendo is opening a Tokyo store in the fall of 2019, and the Olympics occurs in 2020. There is going to be a surge in sales! Top that off with Nintendo's recent track record of incredible advertising, and you have a post-Wii U economic miracle. It will wear off after the Olympics, so sell your stocks a day or so before they end. If I wasn't poor right now, then I would have made thousands by now...

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Want From A Switch Mini?

penamiguel92

There will be a revision eventually, but I doubt it will be a mini. The JoyCon are one of the switch's main selling points, remove that and you have a basic handheld. The revision will simply fix some of the issues that the switch has like the charging port being at the bottom, and easy to break fan grills. The console itself will also be revised in such a way that the cost of production will be lowered. There's also a possibility that Nintendo will make it more difficult to hack.

Re: Here Are The Top Ten Best-Selling Nintendo Switch Games Of 2018 In The US

penamiguel92

People wonder why Nintendo rarely drops their MSRP for their games. Here's the reason, Nintendo games continue to sell even after several months on the market. This is helped by the fact that Nintendo is known for (mostly) complete games without common game breaking glitches. Nintendo has the highest standard of quality. When I say quality, I mean the game is not rushed out the door with microtransactions and first day DLC golore. Take note EA, Activision, and Ubisoft, your days are numbered. I don't want to say the same for Bethesda, but with Fallout 76 being in the state that is in, it's a miracle Bethesda still has my respect.
