@BlackenedHalo Na, the game is trash. I was super excited about it and dropped it a couple hrs in. If only they portioned out more time to improve the imbalanced gameplay and idiotic design decisions than making it so damn long.
@KayFiOS thanks for your response! Really sorry if I came off as offensive, I was just in a weird mood (it happens often as I’m currently transitioning). Also I was genuinely curious as I see those paycheck posts commonly. That explains things. Last year I only had around $15 to my name after a crazy Christmas, so I know how it feels. Really appreciate your response, and sorry again for coming off as such a judgy meanie! I swear it’s not really who I am and didn’t mean what I said. I hope you are able to purchase and enjoy it!! 🥰
@somebread So, you have no idea. Got it. I asked YOU specifically what YOU think they did wrong. There's a difference between actually believing you did something wrong, and apologizing because you think you have to for PR purposes in order to appease the "woke". I apologize to my clients all the time to make them feel better, even though I know I'm in the wright and they're in the wrong, just so I can maintain their business. The fact that you can't even articulate what they did wrong in a BLIND audition, speaks volumes.
@somebread It's amazing that with all your posts in this thread, you still haven't been able to even ATTEMPT to articulate what exactly it is that they did "wrong" in the hiring process which justifies an apology.
@sanderev What a trash response. So narcissistic and self-obsessed.
"I'm 100% not disappointing by the game or what the game has to offer. I already pre-downloaded it and it will be my main Switch game from the moment it releases."
Why do I care about that? Why are you so obsessed with the fact that YOU don't want it? Why are you adamant on continually posting in this thread, announcing how much this doesn't affect you? How would the option of playing with friends online affect you negatively in any way? It wouldn't, but it would affect millions in a positive way, so it's just so odd that you're falling over yourself expressing just how much you're fine with this, over and over again.
And your "simple facts" are outright false.
1- We didn't know for sure, but I, and many other assumed that it would. Based on the fact that it's 2019. Seems like a logical and rational assumption. Not that ambitious.
2- Not sure what your point is.
3- No, but it left the door open for that. Most who watched it found it weird that it didn't mention it specifically, only randoms, and then were devastated when it was confirmed.
Why does anyone care if you're "100% not disappointed" or that you pre-ordered it? We've already established that you don't care, as if that means anything to anyone who does. Also, your coffee machine analogy is asinine, intellectually dishonest, and ridiculously lazy and irrelevant. You can already play with randoms. You're comparing being able to play with friends as well, to the switch controlling a coffee machine?
If I express disappointment in the lack of this option, I wouldn't even bother if I knew I was the only one. But I know millions of others who planned to purchase the game are ALSO disappointed, and maybe you could have taken a hint from the amount of outrage about this online. I have zero interest in playing this alone, or with randoms. Playing with people you know is a completely different experience. My brother is in another city, and we were excited to play levels together, and both planned to purchase. Now, we have no interest.
Stop spending so much energy stanning for Nintendo and replying to others expressing your lack of desire for the feature. It's selfish and self-centered to an extreme extent. I'll never understand the point of posts like yours, doing your best to invalidate the preferences and experiences of others using your sample size of one, and gloating about the fact that you don't care about a missing feature, when so many others would have loved it.
@MrBlacky Amazing how you "don't give a damn" about this feature, yet you have a dozen posts here [removed] on people who are disappointed it's not there and acting like their preferred way of playing is invalid. You seem pretty disconnected from reality and obsessed with only your own very niche situation. Everyone I know who is buying this game, and who I would be playing with, lives in another city. That's just the reality. But sure, I'll just "invite them over" so I can "punch them in the face". It's so twisted how you almost seem happy about this.
@sanderev Your post is absolutely insane, and has zero basis in reality. What planet do you live on? Since when do most people give a damn about playing "ranked" in a Mario platformer? Why would it be only fun "for a few minutes" if you're not ranked? Do you not realize that most people CANNOT physically play with people they know in the same space? Why is there "no point" in playing online with friends? Your post is absolutely absurd and disconnected from what 99% of people, who are not obsessed with rankings, actually want. Stop excusing and justifying this omission based on trash reasons, as if it's a good thing.
Eh, f*** Google. Most of their hardware initiatives have been complete failures. They only exist to suck up your data and monetize it. They introduce and kill off services almost every week. Nintendo has nothing to fear here.
@KingdomHeartsFan People are demanding that he change his work schedule, DEMANDING that he take a vacation, etc. As if the guy isn't capable of making these decisions himself.
@KingdomHeartsFan What I think is that Sakurai is a grown man, with the freedom to make his own decisions, instead of people here demanding that he act in a way that they like.
Love how everyone here is shoving their opinions down his throat and dictating how he should work and live. The guy has free agency. He knows what makes him happy more than any of you, and I'm sure he's infinitely more aware of any health implications for his decisions. Sounds like he loves his life and his work, so maybe you guys should accept that, instead of this kind of extreme, misplaced, misinformed concern that would be better spent on people who actually want and NEED it.
@ilikeike Yep.The whole demo was meh, even though it looked nice. Forced myself to do like 3 missions then quit. Everything felt like a chore. Not sure why Nintendo has been pushing this game so much.
Wow. Booted this up for the 1st time in months after the update, and continued a save from the second last level. Got to the King, and beat him on my 1st try, even though I was super rusty, and never got even CLOSE to beating him previously. He took so much less damage, and my hits were so much more powerful. This is on zero cell difficulty, and it should have been this way from the beginning.
I like how Nintendo pretends this is some kind of FRIGGING rocket science. Maybe, I don't know, start providing more than 2 NES games per month? Maybe open the floodgates with SNES games as well (at least). Add some better online systemwide features, such as basic communication between switches and players?
Since Nintendo is swimming in money, why the heck can't they release an update where you can actually play online WITH your couch co-op partner?! Like.. I was blown away that this was impossible, and still am.
@KingBowser86 Do people really give a kopjihygutfrdt about a character from Kingdom Hearts or Undertale? I'd prefer a representative from a Nintendo franchise.
Cool, but their online portion is a superior amoeba banquet joke. I mean, you can't even play 2P online in the mariothon, even with just those 10 games, which is insane. Don't even know why they bothered with that mode.
@BigKing I own Doom, Wolfenstein 2, and DB Fighter Z, all current gen games, and all considered having impressive graphics from the platforms they were ported from. There's a dozen more examples.
But yeah, I'm JDNSKID delusional. Problem is most devs are just too KDKODKS lazy or cheap to make the required optimizations, then we have trolls people like you that blame it on Nintendo.
@BigKing " In b4 delusional Nintendo stans making excuses and bashing Bethesda for not bringing a current gen game to underpowered last gen hardware." Can this sentence be anymore condascending, trollish, and idiotic? The Switch isn't "underpowered" for what it is. And I'm sure they could bring the game over if they had the will and commitment. Lots of current gen games have made the transition with small compromises that doesnt affect the core gameplay.
Amazing how "but it's hard" has transformed this game from a mediocre, clunky dungeon crawler to "OMG MASTERPIECE". Whenever I ask anyone whats so great about Dark Souls, all they can rave about is the difficulty. So? Why does that automatically make a game amazing? Why would I want to feel the rage that the person in that trailer feels? Why is that appealing?
So, why the hell do Switch owners have to BEG for these games, when it makes incredible financial and business sense for the developers to port them? It's their loss if they don't, less money in their pockets. This whole notion of Switch owners begging devs to bring their games over, then the devs pretending they did it to "please the fans" is absolutely pathetic. Switch has shown time and time again that games outsell versions on other platforms (sometimes by a massive margin like 10-1). Developers should beg to bring their software to the switch because it makes them a load of money, not the other way around.
@Bunkerneath If you can't afford $20 before getting your paycheck, should you REALLY be spending it on this? I'm not trying to be an ass, I just always have a hard time wrapping my head around these kinds of posts. I just feel that if there's essentially nothing left in your account between paychecks, so that you can't afford something negligible like $20, then this kind of money should be going towards savings or critical essentials. Again, I just really need to understand this.
@electrolite77 I would actually be fine if the focus and profits of all companies went towards fixing global hunger and poverty until that is solved. I’d enthusiastically get behind that. I can sacrifice new gizmos and games for as long as it takes. Couldn’t you? I would certainly hope so.
I can’t believe you people. Many Japanese still don’t have power. They’ve lost loved ones and their homes. Isn’t that just a little more imoortsnt than a silly Nintendo Direct? My motto is, Lives Before Games, every SINGLE time. I can wait. And, so can you. Nintendo should feel free to cancel this, since airing it at any point is still insensitive. Again, Lives Before Games. Hope some of you can do some self-reflection and adopt this philosophy.
Don't understand this. I played the demo and it felt like a 4/10 game for me at most. Absolute trash visuals, clunky controls, slow, irritating..and just ridiculously unfun. Pretty crazy that a 3DS port can get such a score. But what do I know.
Sorry, but this game is bad. I hoped it would fill in the time before smash, but it just isn't fun at all. Also, love that Switch version gets the highest sales but is always on the lowest priority for updates. Good stuff.
Sorry, but this review is pretty useless. Not a SINGLE mention that this game is a rogue like, which is pretty much the most important thing to know, and which can turn a lot of people off. Basically, you start from the beginning each time you die, with zero upgrades or permanent progression. For a game like this, thats a pretty BBBBAAAADDDD mechanic.
@Hikingguy Nintendo could have never enough internal storage to appease every single person and requirement. Software can be archived, and SD cards are cheap. I don't really see it as an issue.
@Toads-Friend There's something called a "friend list". I would never play Mario Party online with randoms, but would be cool to play with my wife against my brother and his wife who live in another city.
I can't believe anyone gives a UNICORN about the fickle, short-term sentiments of analysts and investors, when history are proven their gut reactions to events such like this are 99% of the time incorrect and baseless. It's irrelevant. A company is doomed if it chases the constant pleasure of these folks, who typically don't have a long term strategy and outlook for their reaction, and who do not have a full understanding of the company's decisions and strategy. Whenever I see these downward moves following events (ie. Apple keynotes) I always take it as an opportunity to pick up more stock, and I have always been rewarded for it.
So Nintendo's "we're focusing on games coming out soon" excuse for not even showing any trailers of other stuff was BS, since they're actually playing this on treehouse, and its not due till 2019.
I guess I've gotten old. Tried to give this game a shot, played with my brother online. We ran around in what seemed like an empty map (although there was 50 other players) for like 20 min without seeing a single soul. Then, we suddenly get sniped and die. Same STUFF the next round.
