Apart from Smash, which gave me everything I wanted and more, the E3 showcases have been pretty pathetic for all 3 companies so far. I was expecting at LEAST a couple more big announcements from the Nintendo 1st parties. Absolutely NOTHING on Metroid, Yoshi, Starfox, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, etc? Not even Odyssey DLC? I would never have expected that.
As a huge Nintendo fan for the last 20 years, I’ve never once heard the name Simon Belmot. Hope this rumour isn’t true, there’s literally a hundred more recognizable and iconic characters they could add before him.
@Kevember What an idiotic post. Yes, he offered his opinion and I offered mine. Yes, I am aware Nintendo is interested in "keeping the shareholders happy", just like every other company on earth. It doesn't mean they have the same approach as everyone else. I own zero Nintendo stock, I couldn't care less. It's fine you have your opinion, just don't pretend it's the reasonable one and others aren't. It's amazing how little self-awareness you have, where you think your hatred for something Nintendo is doing (while they're also making traditional games) makes you "objective".
@gatorboi352 You're so utterly clueless. According to you, the entire concept of the switch would have been classified as a "gimmick". Just because you call stuff "crap", doesn't mean it actually is. If you lose what Sony and MS are doing, then just buy their consoles and their games and stop whining. Personally, Nintendo is pretty much the only reason I still give a [removed] about videogames. The day they stop trying new things and go for the safe routes like the others is the day I quit gaming.
@RusevDay At least they have some guts and they try new [removed], unlike how safe the other console makers play it. You might not see the appeal in this, but others do. Not everything has to appeal to you, and noone has a gun to your head forcing you to buy it. For younger kids (and even older) I see this as an amazing way to chane it up from traditional videogaming, both in terms of educational purposes and the satisfaction of creating/building something. I don't play to buy it myself, but that doesn't mean I don't think it deserves to exist. The reception from reviewers to the concept and execution has been overwhelmingly positive. It might be a huge success, it might bomb, but either way I'm glad Nintendo is taking these risks.
If a MASSIVE game like Breath of the wild that was developed for both the Wii U and Switch manages to have zero loading in it's open world, then why the hell can't games like this?
I love how many assumptions everyone here has made. No, obviously they didn't work full time for a year on this. Obviously, they started working on it at a certain point, with varying levels of focus, and "development" ended with the final OS and launch of the system.
I'm fine with ports on principle. What I'm not ok with is the pricing, often being priced the same as when the game first came out years ago, with no (or negligible) improvement. Lazy and greedy.
@therealgamer Anyone can take a look at your posting history and conclude that you're nothing but a pathetic troll with 100% negative comments about Nintendo and the Switch. Sad existence you have there.
Hey guys, maybe step outseide your own bubbles and realize that since the Wii U bombed, not many people experienced this game. Sure, it might be a "ripoff" if you've already purchased it for Wii U, but nobody is forcing you to buy it again for the switch, and for those millions of people who will play it for the first time, it's definitely not a ripoff. Nintendo isn't holding a gun to your heads forcing you to buy every title that is released.
@formulas666 Garbage according to who? You? Not according to anyone who has actually played it. Oh, and Nintendo has f-all to do with this game. But ok.
@Fath Noone is putting a gun to your head to buy it. I loved the Mario run demo, and so happily paid to unlock the full game, and I I felt I got my money's worth. Giving people the chance to try the gameplay to see if it's for them, maybe with allowing only 1-2 characters and tracks before committing, seems like the perfect solution.
@Burger_Broeders Yup. My brother did hours of grinding just so that he can unlock a stage that he can't even access (because of a bug) and characters that are 100% skins. After I saw that, I lost all motivation. To me, this game needs a whole lot more than a patch. The fights are just fundamentally unsatisfying to me. And so many aspects just scream laziness, like what happens when you win/lose a match. They couldn't even be bothered to make victory or loss poses. The lack of attention to details adds up.
Not even sure why they would even announce development, if it's "hanging by a thread". Just wait till you've made significant progress and actually have a launch window. But no, these days everything needs to be announced to build "hype" even when literally everything is uncertain.
Terrible game, with a ton of technical flaws and barely any content, most of which is locked behind an insane grinding wall. As a huge smash fan, I was desperate to like this game, and thought it would be a decent substitute, but finally had to admit how terrible it is. All unlockables are basically skins, as are the stages. Online is utterly unplayable because of the lag. Stages are basic and boring, and so many aspects seem thrown together with little testing or thought. And it just isn't..fun. Oh, and where's that patch we've been promised now for over a month? Nowhere to be seen. But yeah, this is what we need, a physical release for this less than mediocre game.

This already looked pretty polished in the trailer from a year ago..I don't get it.

Re: Nintendo Switch Has Now Sold 4 Million Units In Japan
@The-Chosen-one I may be wrong, but I feel like the kinds of people that would "stand in line" for those games already have a switch.

Looks janky as hell. Love how the boat produces zero waves or ripples on the water.
Re: Review: AeternoBlade (Switch eShop)
This game is complete trash. Can't believe they had the gall to release a demo, they probably lost some accidental sales.

Unfortunate they couldn't get this up to 1080P.
