In Nintendo's latest TV advert for Ninjala, the hugely popular Switch exclusive that just hit six million downloads, singer Kyary Pamyu Pamyu appears alongside Japanese comedy trio Yonsen Toshin to promote the game, as well as her latest single, "Gum Gum Girl".
This isn't the first time the Japanese songstress has worked with Nintendo - she's promoted Animal Crossing: New Horizons by pinching Tom Nook's squishy tummy, she was in adverts for the decorative 3DS Kisakae faceplates, and last year she appeared in a livestream for Ninjala.
From January 29th to February 18th, Ninjala players will be able to download special Kyary Pamyu Pamyu items in-game: a remix of Ninja Re Bang Bang by Steve Aoki, a Gum Gum Girl t-shirt for player avatars, and a dance emote.
Gum Gum Girl will hit streaming and download platforms on January 29th, the same day that the in-game items will be available in Ninjala.

10 years of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu?? That’s mad, I remember listening to her stuff coming out when I had only just started high school!
@nessisonett she's definitely aged better than most of us have in that time 😅
Ninjala articles 2 days in a row?! 🤯
That hasn't happened in a long time, Keep Them Coming. 🤔
She's been going for 10 years?! Wow, that's crazy. I actually know who Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is now, thanks to Ninjala.
Like I said in the previous Ninjala article, I'm really excited that the Kyary Pamyu Pamyu collab is coming back. I'm definitely going to get the emote this time.
Also, am I the only one who didn't know who Kyary Pamyu Pamyu was, until Ninjala? 🤔
@KateGray
THANK YOU for writing this, I really appreciate it. 🤔
You even put the dates down for the second Kyary Pamyu Pamyu collab, nice.
@SM3DASislit I have learned that Ninjala and KPP are both VERY popular
Welp back to Ninjala I go. Interesting that some people thought this would flop. Also that reminds me I need to get her last album.
@nessisonett Ain't she just the best?
@KateGray
Haha, that's very true, you can say that again.
I just wish that more people on Nintendo Life would give Ninjala a chance. (Which I feel like is starting to become the case, again). 🤔
Are you a fan of Ninjala or KPP? 🤔
@Ryu_Niiyama
I didn't realize that you played Ninjala. I think the reason that people thought it would flop, is because it's a new IP from Gung Ho, and it also had a bit of rocky launch, so those factors didn't help Ninjala's case. Yeah, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's music is really cool (based on the Steve Aoki remix in Ninjala, that is). 🤔
@SM3DASislit I'm not, but that doesn't mean I couldn't be!
@KateGray
Okay, thanks for letting me know. That's the attitude to have. 🤔
I mean, I would recommend Ninjala, even if I'm one of the only people on Nintendo Life (at this point) that seems to enjoys it.
As for KPP, I don't much about her, so you might want to ask Ryu_Niiyama instead. 🤔
@SM3DASislit
I'm kinda like Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.
I know her first time by playing her songs from MaiMai Orange Plus by SEGA. (MaiMai is a Rhythm game arcade made by SEGA, the machine design looks like a washing machine. The way you play is by tapping and rubbing the screen as you see circles like from Sonic appears. It is kinda like playing DDR but with hands).
Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is basically Lady Gaga from Japan. She always wear very unique costumes, her songs also catchy and unique too.
good ol KPP. I also can't believe it's been 10 years already! I was in japan in 2011 and there was KPP promos everywhere. I bought some KPP earbuds that I still have unopened.
I'm glad she has new music coming out, I'll have to look it up.
I don't have time with Ninjala though.
@Anti-Matter
Okay, thanks for letting me know.
MaiMai sounds like an interesting game to try out. 🤔
That's a comparison I wasn't expecting to hear.
TBH, I've never really cared for Lady Gaga.
So, how unique are Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's costumes? 🤔
Yeah, I did notice that she has catchy and unique songs, when I heard one of her songs in Ninjala. 🤔
@konbinilife
If you don't mind me asking, why would you have time to find KPP's newest music, but not the time for Ninjala? 🤔
@SM3DASislit
KPP unique costumes kinda similar with Lady Gaga's costumes. The difference is KPP costumes mostly colorful and playful (Kawaii Harajuku style) while Lady Gaga costume looks edgier (High fashion / Couture, sometimes she wear very unusual outfits and footwears).
This is one of KPP song (Family Party) on MaiMai Orange in Master difficulty (Level 10).
@Anti-Matter
Okay, thanks for letting me know.
That's why I was kind of confused when you said that KPP was similar to Lady Gaga, costume wise, since Lady Gaga does tend to be more "edgy" with her outfits, and KPP's outfits looked more colorful from various commercials/pictures I've seen her in.
That looks really fun to play, where is it located? 🤔
@SM3DASislit as I get older, I have less time for games, and have to be more selective.
It's easier to fit in some music. You can listen to music while driving, walking, cleaning, exercising, resting your eyes, etc.
@Anti-Matter Man, that looks super fun.
@konbinilife
Oh okay, that makes sense, and thanks for letting me know. 🤔
That's true, I wasn't if that's what you meant when you made your initial statement, so that's why I asked. 🤔
Hugely popular? Huh, I guess it isn't dying somewhere, but from the community over here, it seems like its dying...
@TimeVolt
If you mean the Nintendo Life community, then it does look like that. The Nintendo Life community, in general, doesn't seem to be huge on Ninjala (or F2P games to begin with). I hope that more Nintendo Life users give Ninjala a chance, (or give it another chance), sooner than later. 🤔
SHE D BEST.....................(aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
