Sakaguchi's works have all been exceptional, from the first Final Fantasy to X, Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey, I was ecstatic to explore the world of The Last Story. As far as the narrative was concerned, it was linear, but in all fairness the VOs were amazing, as were the environments, gameplay and even the multiplayer merited more replay value than most games these days! To play through this again would be very welcome. Personally, I'm hoping for an HD remake with an updated multiplayer roster to make matchmaking with friends easier.
2) MadWorld
Another of PlatinumGames' endeavors on the Wii, this game gave me plenty of hours of senseless and nonsensical fun. Killing enemies just never was as creative since until Bayonetta 2 came about. I lost my disc awhile back and I've been wanting to play through it again, and since I'd rather pay Nintendo and Platinum directly, this would also be welcome on the NeShop.
3) Metroid: Other M
Aside from completing the Metroid collection for Wii games, I've never actually played through OM. From the gameplay videos I've seen, it looks like an interesting hybrid of Ninja Gaiden, classic Metroid and Metroid Prime. Interesting enough for me to make a purchase. Better to get it new from Nintendo than second-hand from GameStop.
Anyway, that's all I have to say on the subject. Only time will tell if Nintendo will hear our requests.
Bunch of opportunistic perverters of capitalism...No, this isn't capitalism. It's blatant profiteering. I refuse to give in to them. I'll wait for a year - two if I have to - to get my hands on the MMN3DS. I'll even buy it second-hand and used if Nintendo doesn't want me to buy it from them directly. The only ones profiting from taking advantage of stocks like this are the profiteers, not Nintendo. If my money doesn't go to Nintendo, it may as well just sit in my bank account...or at least go to some good pasta and ramen.
Feh, if you're complaining about micro-transactions affecting the quality of the game, I only have this to say to you:
You can elect whether or not to pay for the damn game so you can continue playing. Arcade machines worked the same way in the past. You paid to play more. The only difference now is that with this kind of free to play game, all you have to do is wait to play some more. Those who pay to play more are either impatient and want to play more, incompetent and constantly mismanage their resources, or both.
If you're not going to pay but want to play some more, you can spend time waiting doing other constructive things - and no, complaining about the free to play model doesn't count. You can take care of whatever personal business you have to take care of, learn a few tricks to help you not mismanage your resources next time you play, or you could procreate.
These arguments against free-to-play models are becoming more and more whiny as the years go by. It's like when the PSN and XBL went down over Christmas. Little kids were demanding free copies of big franchise titles just because they couldn't play online for three days. Stop complaining and keep playing. We don't need the world to look at gamers like we're a bunch of children who throw tantrums when things don't go their way.
@hcfwesker From what I gather, it's just adding more entries to the notebook to make those small events more noticeable this time around. Nothing about dumbing down the fights or dungeons. Wonder how much you read before commenting here?
As long as it's not live-action, just full CGI with the actual VAs for the characters and with a narrative that could actually be considered parallel to the games (I'd actually like to see a movie based on Super Mario 64 with remastered tracks and play itself out like an action-adventure film a la the Tomb Raider movies) I can dig it.
As far as this partnership with Sony Pictures goes...it is a little unorthodox. Not that it's a bad thing. This could be a huge boon to Nintendo and Sony both. Nothing against Microsoft, but they insist on pandering to their chief demographic of 20-30-something dudebros who still act like they're in high school, getting hyped off of every cliche action-overflowing piece of media that grabs their attention...or something like that.
This is a kind of model I've been advocating for third-party developers to follow. I usually only played Activision, EA and Ubisoft games for the campaigns - seldom for achievements, trophies or leaderboard positions. If I got the campaign for free but be forced to pay for achievements and all the online goodies, sure, I'd pay full price for a game like that. That's continge on whether or not I like the game, but I'm not TOO hard to please. Don't get me wrong, I'm no advocate for vapid storytelling with blatant sexual imaging, but a game just needs an engrossing enough narrative without going over the top. Hopefully that's not too much to ask.
@Artwark The issue surrounding Smash on both the 3DS and Wii U seems to revolve around the online multiplayer aspect of the game. It may just be a result of the strict protocols Nintendo's enforcing for online etiquette. Doesn't mean the game was rushed. After all, I play offline most of the time and I never, ever, EVER encounter problems there. Hell, the article even states this error was brought about when players play For Glory online.
Meh. Score it as low as you want. All of these frame rate issues that people are talking about seem to be nonexistent to me. Could be because of the fact I usually play off TV while I'm working on my character in Final Fantasy XIV, but whatever.
I thoroughly enjoy Watch_Dogs, regardless of the regurgitated arguments against Ubisoft's ports. ACIII and Black Flag were superb, in any case, and they don't deserve all the crap they've been getting. I'm inclined to think that all of the propaganda against Ubisoft is coming from first-party purists or fanboils...or perhaps trolls, but who am I to know what the agendas of other people are? I generally buy what I'm pretty confident I'll like.
This last month alone I bought Bayonetta 2, Watch_Dogs, Smash U and Dragon Age Inquisition on my PS4. I'm going to be busy until the end of spring, at the very least, and I couldn't care less about this relentless back and forth about third-party ports. I have the money to spend, and I'll be damned if I'm going to let some halfwit who spends all their time polluting public forums with their refuse tell me what I should do with my money.
I picked it up and started playing yesterday. What I can tell you so far is that while I am a little underwhelmed with most hacking sequences, as they're instantaneous, it's understandable why Ubisoft designed it that way. Playing Watch Dogs has felt like a mix between Sleeping Dogs and Metal Gear Solid. Maintaining stealth is of the utmost importance, and enemies patrol areas rather quickly. Aiden can barely take any damage at all.
There are SOME sequences where using the gamepad would be appropriate, but those areas are few and far between. It may just be that I've been playing off TV, but saving the gamepad for sequences like those would make them feel throwaway, like Bayonetta 2's multiplayer.
Anyway, as far as the narrative goes so far, it's a little lackluster, but that only seems to be because I can't stop hacking into ATMs, people's phones and traffic control systems. You'll see notifications for things you can hack everywhere, and I do mean EVERYWHERE, when you start investing Aiden's stat points. It's a little chaotic at first, but it is very, very, VERY handy.
Much as I love all of my consoles, I'm inclined to agree with Reggie. I've made it no secret that I'm dissatisfied with paying a subscription just to play with friends and family on the same network when I can do so for free on the Wii U. I've made it no secret that I'm not moved by the lack of backwards-compatibility for the sake of streamlining game production resulting in subpar, mediocre monstrosities and to be extorted into paying a rental fee to play games that are pennies on the dollar at pawn shops or GameStops. I'm quite dissatisfied with Sony and Microsoft for not dating to take risks with gaming and just giving us more of the same experiences we had last generation. It's time for a change.
People will tire of Advanced Warfare as quickly as they have of Destiny. The quality and monotony of these games barely justifies the hype they both build up and people just end up wasting their money on their premium online subscriptions waiting for the next big thing to drop.
I'm a gamer. I'm also a consumer. I buy games and consoles which appeal to my gaming palate. I play shooting games, I play RPGs, I play music games, I play RTSs, I play sims, I play adventure games, I play MOBAs, I play platformers, I play racers, I play party games - I play EVERYTHING that appeals to me.
I don't buy into a franchise or the hardware just because everyone else does or is pressuring me to. I mean sure, I bought a PS4, XBO and NWU because I'm an advocate (and maybe pioneer?) of console unity, but seeing people getting worked up over something like this confounds me.
You can't accuse Nintendo of not having variety. They have the most number of original IPs ever - outnumbering Sony's, Microsoft's and third party IPs. You can accuse third parties of being lazy and pandering to the consumer base that seem to be the least informed and easily hyped that they can neglect the Nintendo fan base and treat them like they're lepers.
-Sigh- People seriously complain and talk too much.
You want to flood articles with refuse, misinformation and rhetoric to generate more traffic and income? Be my guest. I'm going to kill Jubileus in Bayonetta again, level my Ninja in Final Fantasy XIV and finally escape Los Perdidos in Dead Rising 3.
A price cut at this point would be foolish. The Xbox One is already selling at a loss, and this price drop is a desperate attempt by Microsoft to break even. I barely play the damn thing aside from Dead Rising 3, but with its obscene lack of features and even ability to stack up to the Wii U and PS4 library, it's basically done for at this point. Nintendo doesn't have to change a damn thing.
I'm glad to see that Platinum and Nintendo get along so famously. EA, Activision and Ubisoft can stand to learn from them instead of pandering to the chaos their fanatical following perpetuates all of the Internet.
This made me laugh so hard I peed myself a little. xD Fanboils (Boy + Girl = "Boil") will always make me infuriated, but when stuff like this happens, I'm the happiest man in the world. :3
A lot of people are making a big stink over $0.30. Kids need to save their lunch money so they don't blow it all on porn or other age-of-consent sites. You'd be surprised at the kinds of stuff kids could see and hear on YouTube or Newgrounds and stuff like that.
The last time I saw my three year old nephew he straight up told me, "Fu** you" while I was setting up the PS3 I was giving to him and when I mentioned it to his mom she said he watches loads of stuff with his aunt on YouTube unsupervised. Yeah, I know, poor parenting on her part, but it'd be easier on parents and corporations just to do trivial things like implementing paywalls to keep kids from freely accessing inappropriate content as they have yet to be able to discern what is socially acceptable or not.
I mean seriously, what grown person can't afford $0.30? If the restriction was $20 then yeah, I'd be upset about it too, but it's thirty freaking cents.
Meanwhile, Watch Dogs is nowhere to be found, Mario Kart 8 is still going strong and Destiny sales have plummeted while Smash maintains its position on the charts. Hype for excessively marketed, "triple-A" games does not last and barely breaks even with advertising costs, I'll bet. I actually feel bad for Ubi and also want to prove that M-rated games can still sell on the Wii U so I'll buy it. I'm just hoping they did something with the game pad like Capcom did for RE:Revelations.
Only the sheeple would allow themselves to be herded by these false shepherds of gaming. After Watch Dogs for my Wii U, I'm done with Ubisoft. Don't get me wrong, I still hope for third-party support for the Wii U and I'm only buying Watch Dogs as a last-ditch effort to try to prove a market is there for them to justify continued support. No one helps by buying their games second hand. Either digital, new, or nothing at all.
@Nintenjoe64 "DLC that might be part of a special edition released next yearmseems like another reason to hold out for Bayonetta 2....."
Unfortunately for you, Platinum confirmed that they had no plans to make DLC for Bayonetta 2 and that it would be complete at launch. There's an NL article about it from a few months ago. Stop feeding people misinformation.
@BulbasaurusRex I stated that Koei Tecmo and Bandai Namco were JUST NOW becoming LIKE second party developers. I never explicitly said they always were.
That being said, once the GC controller adapter comes out, a Soul Calibur II VC title just might be possible.
@Shiryu "I will buy it, full price even if the other versions are discounted already. I manage to remain spoil free up to now, so I will rather enjoy the ride. But when this games fails to sell millions, I just hope Ubisoft realizes most people are not as patient as me. A shame too, I wanted to also give them wvwn more of my money, as if they put the new "Assassin's Creed Rogue" on the system."
I managed to stay spoil free these last few months as well. Playing Final Fantasy XIV and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate helped, but now I'm all RPG'd out. I'm itching for a sandbox. I was going to give Ubisoft all of my money if they put Rogue and Unity on the Wii U as well, but they just had to get my hope up...heartless bastards.
I might just be the most optimistic person here, but I'm not giving up hope of seeing third party support for the Wii U and I never will.
I was a little disillusioned because of what EA was doing at first, but I played Battlefield 4 and Titanfall on the PS4 and XBO respectively, and you know what I realized? We're not missing out on ANYTHING.
The graphics on BF4 are so horrendous, even WITH installing the data on your hard drive. Textures take forever to load in multiplayer and more often than not the connection lagged like a beast and sometimes the entire map would straight up disappear and all you'd see on the screen is the backdrop for scoreboards post-match and a crosshair.
As for Titanfall...the whole experience is just meh. It's basically Call of Duty with parkour and mechs. I'm a pretty average FPS gamer but the whole experience just left more to be desired. Garden Warfare was more exciting than Titanfall.
@Mega719 ...What are you talking about? SE stated that sales were already much higher than they expected, but since the 3DS player base has to access the game via the cloud, so many people trying to access the game within the usual timeframe for playtime made it impossible to even login. There's no console agenda in this article.
@DualWielding ...Dude, you have NO idea how much they LOVE MMOs. Nobunaga's Ambition and Romance of the Three Kingdoms were basically launch MMOs for the PS4 and Wii U respectively and they garner a huge following, albeit a cult following. It's enough that they keep making more installments for each franchise.
"In fact, many of them also combine them with slot machines (there's a specific name for them but I can't remember what it is)."
Are you talking about pachinko machines?
Anyway, in regards to the article, first there's Hyrule Warriors, now there's Pokken Tournament? I really think Nintendo's snatched up Namco Bandai as well as Koei Tecmo as second party developers now.
"Another thing I find despicable, is the way that Emulators and ROMs are advertised over the internet. There are several "Why pay for these games, when you can play them free!" popups, or whatnot, on 'top ten list' sites."
You must be hanging around in the questionable areas of the internet if you're seeing ads like that. I frequent mainstream sites for social networking, media and gaming news and not once have I seen ads promoting flash carts.
Anyway, as far as the original topic is concerned, I base my decisions on one philosophy:
If a developer can no longer capitalize on a title, either through digital distribution or selling physical copies (pre-owned copies of a game does not give the developer any money whatsoever), then the use of a flash cart to play the titles in question is tolerable.
I think Nintendo might have Chuck Norris'd third party developers this holiday season. Ubisoft probably knew that releasing Watch_Dogs on the Wii U the same week MK8 came out wouldn't pan out well, same thing goes for trying to release the two new AC games alongside Bayonetta 2 and Smash. My budget only allows for 3 new games for the rest of the year, and none of the third party games are on that list. It's all Wii U exclusive.
@Yorumi Holy crap, you didn't hear a word I said, did you? Quit trying to play devil's advocate. You can't do it. All you're doing is trying to debate the whole issue with variables inconsistent with your argument in the first place.
@Yorumi Be that as it may, they shouldn't treat Samus like she's the only one being "sexualized". If anything, real fans of the Metroid franchise know just how superhuman she is and how off-putting she can be lugging that heavy armor around all the time and constantly blasting away space pirates and aliens that by "sexualizing" Samus makes her more human and relatable. That said, the Smash games have always been about bringing Nintendo's mascots to a level playing field where they can Brawl in fair Melee contests which potentially means making the most remarkable of their characters unremarkable.
Okay, I must be missing something here because I'm seeing A LOT of animosity towards Nintendo for promoting Mercedes in MK8.
What do people think will happen when the DLC arrives? That the apocalypse is coming? That suddenly locusts will fly put of our bungholes and contaminate our food and corrupt everything we own? That people will suddenly combust for no reason causing thousand-car pile-ups and effectively sending thousands more to their deaths and we'll meet our end in a sea of fire?
Good God, people, grow up. Find something better to argue or debate about. Oh, I've got an idea! How about coercing EA to let BioWare bring their games to the Wii U? Same for Activision, Ubisoft and Rockstar?
It's certainly better than whining about petty crap like this.
You know...I never thought about that before. How the Amiibos can be used across different games, and all. The Disney Infinity and Skylanders figurines are restricted to those franchises only. I wonder what Nintendo will do to link the Amiibos together across several different titles?
If you want to look at sexualization of female characters, you need to look at games like DreamClub, Onechanbara, Akiba's Trip and Dead or Alive. Samus' "sexualization" and "degradation" is trivial in comparison.
I like how there's already a witch hunt for this guy when most of those comments came from people who CLEARLY haven't read the article. All they saw was "3DS Homebrew Channel", "hacking" and "piracy". For God's sake, people. Read, interpret, comprehend and THEN respond.
Anyway, as far as bypassing the region lock goes, I imagine this guy to be more of an asset than a liability. It'll give gamers in the Western Hemisphere access to so many more quality games that are exclusive in each theater. I, for one, have been DYING to play Time Travelers on my 3DS as well as the chibi Project Diva. That'd be the only reason I'd use this Homebrew. That, and to explore classic Genesis and SNES titles that still have yet to show up on the eShop.
I'm talking about classic Sonic games as well as the Final Fantasy games from I-VI that still remain exclusive to Japan for some reason. I'd gladly pay for the convenience of downloading the title so I can enjoy it on the go, I really would, but if I'm going to be constantly denied my desire to indulge in new gaming experiences, Nintendo is really leaving me no other choice.
Anyway, the way I see it is like this:
Once we buy the hardware, it becomes our property to do with as we will. Whether it be soft-modding it to play games locked in our respective regions, submerging it in the sink filled to the brim with water, or shooting at it with a paintball gun.
Online services, however, are something we SUBSCRIBE to. It's NOT something we OWN. Modding hardware to get an edge on other players online for one's own enjoyment or to get digital downloads for free is the ONLY thing I find reprehensible about modding and hacking hardware. That's it.
tl;dr: Modding hardware to play region locked games and emulating titles we already own is okay. Using to score free games from the eShop and cheating online is not.
@ErnisDy Achievements are overrated and have the potential to influence addictive behavior. A friend of mine on the PSN obsessively gathers trophies and has recently reached level 31 with hundreds of platinum trophies. When I stopped, I was 25 and I never looked back. The Wii U has given me the most liberating experience I've ever had in recent gaming history, and that's as it should be. Games should be liberating, not compulsively completionistic addictions.
Salutations to the Dead Poet's Society forever, my captain.
The world has lost one of the greatest men we have ever known. When I heard the news, it felt like someone stuck a knife through my heart. He was kind of like the uncle you'd adore growing up. He'd never make you sad and he'd always make you laugh, all the while teaching you a little bit about life along the way.
I'm still in shock. I haven't been able to think about anything or anyone else all day.
You taught me to seize the day, Robin. I aim to do so for the rest of my life.
Loved him in GoldenEye and loved him in Silent Hill. His work in Troy and Black Death were great as well. Hope he's in the business for a true GoldenEye remake with Pierce Brosnan, Famke Jansen and everyone else for the Wii U.
"In addition, references to 'next-gen technologies' can often mean 'not Wii U' — a sad reality of where it stands at present."
The Wii U "not being next-gen" is an ignorant assumption perpetuated by the fanatical fanboys of the Sony and Microsoft factions who worship higher resolutions instead of the quality of the games themselves.
The best is yet to come for the Wii U, and the hardware hasn't even been pushed to its limits yet. According to VeryTraumatic of YouTube and his review of Killzone: Shadow Fall, the PS4 has already been pushed to its limits graphically.
In addition to that, nothing about the games developed on either the PS4 or the XBO feel any different compared to anything on the PS3 and 360. I've said this before, and I'll say it again:
The Wii U is the only "next-gen" console on the market as it gives a genuinely new experience that sets it apart from its predecessors.
@unrandomsam I'm not sure if I read that right, but you said Microsoft is on top and has virtually unlimited resources?
The only other products I'm aware that Microsoft has is their OS and music player, and I'm fairly certain that third parties are contributing to their obscene amounts of advertisements for the system, in addition to celebrity endorsements.
Rule of thumb: If a company has to try that hard to sell you a product, you can bet that they're struggling.
@Hernandez Everyone I've talked to with any connections to the gaming industry agree that Nintendo took home the gold at E3, even though the library of games was fairly light. If Nintendo actually managed to secure any more big third-party titles, NO ONE would EVER buy a PS4 or XBO. The lifeblood of Sony and Microsoft is third-party games because their first and second-party developments are almost non-existent.
Last year at PS4's launch their exclusives were Killzone, Knack, Warframe and some indies that are now available on the XBO. This year I've only seen inFamous: Second Son and War Thunder. DriveClub and The Order are being pushed back until next year. Things were even worse for Microsoft since they just had Dead Rising 3, Forza and Ryse with Titanfall not even bolstering in sales on the XBO.
As much as I'd like to quell the neurotic whining of the fanboys and doubters, if Nintendo decided to Chuck Norris the competition the gaming industry would lose a lot of support since the loudest members of the gaming demographic are a bunch of ill-informed, ignorant drones who refuse to learn anything more about their competition other that the juvenile stereotypes perpetuated about them.
Once word spreads that Bayonetta 2 and Devil's Third are Wii U exclusives, those that are smart enough will perceive Nintendo as a more than legitimate threat.
@biosphere76 You're not the only one. Michael Pachter thought the same thing, but he also suspected that the XBO would reign supreme and that Nintendo should have abandoned the Wii U in favor of developing games on the PS4 and XBO. Look at how that turned out.
"Remember boys and girls its all about playing great games and having fun with those experiences…console wars are truly redundant because its just stupid to miss out on such incredible games due to a self deluded bias"
Indeed. It's for this reason that I'm such a strong advocate for cross-platform games between PC/Mac/NWU/PS4/XBO/Mobiles. Gaming is meant to bring people together and either have fun or have healthy competition. These console war degenerates are enemies of progression and insist on rehashing the same experiences in gaming as before and just call it "next-gen" because of minor hardware updates.
Personally, I don't feel like we've reached the next generation yet only because gaming still feels segregated and the only innovations have come from Nintendo's control schemes. Give me a game that connects gamers all over the world no matter what platform they play on sand then I'll acknowledge the next generation of gaming has arrived.
@Marshi The bile duct connects your liver to your small intestine. It release bile which helps break down the lipids (fats) in the food you eat.
In any case, my best regards to Iwata-heika. You should be proud of what happened at E3. Your team took home the gold. Just rest easy and continue on the road to recovery.
@Mahe Stop being such a ninny. 90% of your comments are just you whining about Nintendo over every little triumph they earn. Get over yourself.
Besides, bypassing the idiotic press and appealing to the fanbase directly - most of whom are actually able to convince those around them to invest into Nintendo - will do wonders for Nintendo. Meanwhile, Microsoft is STILL doing damage control over the XBO and Sony's hubris has led them to a pool of gaming stagnation that will keep them in the muck until next year. Come this fall, Nintendo is going to wipe the floor with the plethora of action titles that will appeal to whom Nintendo intended to in the first place: The hardcore gamers.
@DaveGX So...in other words, you're saying graphics and gimmicks over games? No thanks. I can deal with load times. I grew up on that. I'm not a little kid who has to have his virtual fix every three seconds.
The way the trend is moving right now is showing that Nintendo is the Japanese developer's salvation. Devil's Third was going to be published by THQ, but they folded and Valhalla was picked up by Nintendo instead. Bayonetta didn't have much of a future because the Ponys and Xbots just want "next-gen" shooters, so Nintendo picked up Platinum as well. Since Capcom seems to be on the verge of folding, it wouldn't surprise me if Nintendo picked them up too. Konami as well since the only titles I've seen from them lately are either MGS, Castlevania LoS or sports games. After E3 this year, I honestly feel like there's a renaissance in the works for Nintendo. Think the SNES-N64 era. I'm just glad Nintendo got all of those naysaying ninnies to shut the Hell up.
I'm one of the 2% of pollers who own all three next-gen giants and the one thing I can say is this:
The inflated egos of both Sony and Microsoft will be deflated completely when fall and 2015 come around. Screw the statistics, fanboys, optimists and realists obsessing over trivial "conflicts" involving the supremacy of the Big Three.
Just shut up and play your damn games like real gamers do. I'm playing Final Fantasy XIV on my PS4 every day and during my off hours I play Mario Kart 8 exclusively on my Wii U while I use my Xbox One to stream from both systems and even indulge in a little Killer Instinct when the mood strikes me.
@ThreadShadow And yet people who think like you wonder why Nintendo's been in such a slump and had to endure flak from the "hardcore" community over being a "kiddie" console.
Quit complaining. You don't want it? Don't buy it and don't have anything to do with it. You have no right to determine what people want to buy when it comes to their games. M-rated and over-the-top action titles may very well be the one thing that helps to save the Wii U from obscurity, and I for one welcome ANYTHING that will give Nintendo an edge over the competition.
Of course, after E3, the Ponys have deluded themselves into thinking the PS4 stands a chance against Nintendo this year, and Xbots are drowning in their stubbornness hanging onto an already obsolete piece of hardware with only one or two titles worth getting until the end of 2015.
There's so much speculation and hype about this that I can't possibly predict what might happen. Loved those commercials and I've been a fan of Robin Williams for years. Zelda just might be a mocap actress for the next Zelda game, or something...maybe even voice her? ...Oh, wait, the last time Nintendo have one of their protagonists a fully-voiced role, it didn't pan out well with the fans. Then again, Team Ninja is infamous for reducing women into weak, vulnerable sex objects.

Re: Feature: 20 Wii Games We'd Love To Download From The Wii U eShop - Part Two
My three choices were as follows:
1) The Last Story
2) MadWorld
3) Metroid: Other M
Anyway, that's all I have to say on the subject. Only time will tell if Nintendo will hear our requests.

Re: Pokémon Shuffle is a Match-Three Game With Slightly Worrying Micro-Transactions
Feh, if you're complaining about micro-transactions affecting the quality of the game, I only have this to say to you:

These arguments against free-to-play models are becoming more and more whiny as the years go by. It's like when the PSN and XBL went down over Christmas. Little kids were demanding free copies of big franchise titles just because they couldn't play online for three days. Stop complaining and keep playing. We don't need the world to look at gamers like we're a bunch of children who throw tantrums when things don't go their way.
Re: The Bomber's Notebook Will Be Revamped in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D

Re: Platinum Games’ Producer Thanks Wii U Owners Who Bought Bayonetta 2 on Release
Honored to be a part of the Bayonetta legacy. Here's to hoping Nintendo funds the development for Bayonetta 3.

Re: Lucadian Chronicles is the Latest Free-to-Play Game Coming to Wii U
Re: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Facing Potential Error Code Nightmare
Re: Review: Watch Dogs (Wii U)
Re: Video: Watch Us Merrily Cause Some Havoc In Watch Dogs On Wii U
Re: The Nintendo Wii U Is Better Value For Money Than Xbox One Or PS4, Says Reggie
Re: I'll Take Zelda And Mario Over Sharing Call Of Duty With Sony And Microsoft, Says Reggie Fils-Aime
Re: Poll: Should Nintendo Follow Microsoft's Lead With A Wii U Price Cut?
A price cut at this point would be foolish. The Xbox One is already selling at a loss, and this price drop is a desperate attempt by Microsoft to break even. I barely play the damn thing aside from Dead Rising 3, but with its obscene lack of features and even ability to stack up to the Wii U and PS4 library, it's basically done for at this point. Nintendo doesn't have to change a damn thing.
Re: Talking Point: Platinum Games Has Secured a Golden Wii U Legacy
I'm glad to see that Platinum and Nintendo get along so famously. EA, Activision and Ubisoft can stand to learn from them instead of pandering to the chaos their fanatical following perpetuates all of the Internet.
Re: Weirdness: Sony Fan Creates Petition In Hope Of Bringing Super Smash Bros. To The PS Vita
This made me laugh so hard I peed myself a little. xD Fanboils (Boy + Girl = "Boil") will always make me infuriated, but when stuff like this happens, I'm the happiest man in the world. :3
Re: The New Nintendo 3DS Web Filter Does Successfully Block Adult Content, Most of the Time
A lot of people are making a big stink over $0.30.
Re: Super Smash Bros. Takes the Lead in Japan Once Again, 3DS Sales Dip Further
Re: We'd Be Cheating Fans By Bringing Assassin's Creed Unity To Wii U, Says Ubisoft

Re: Immediate DLC Reinforcements Arriving Soon On The Hyrule Warriors Battlefield
Re: That Shocking Pokémon Announcement Was Arcade Fighter Pokkén Tournament
@BulbasaurusRex I stated that Koei Tecmo and Bandai Namco were JUST NOW becoming LIKE second party developers. I never explicitly said they always were.
That being said, once the GC controller adapter comes out, a Soul Calibur II VC title just might be possible.
Re: Watch Dogs Wii U Release Dates Confirmed
Re: Watch Dogs Stares at a November Release Date on Wii U, According to Ubisoft Mexico
Re: Square Enix Temporarily Pulls 3DS Dragon Quest X From Sale Due To Unexpected Success
@Mega719 ...What are you talking about? SE stated that sales were already much higher than they expected, but since the 3DS player base has to access the game via the cloud, so many people trying to access the game within the usual timeframe for playtime made it impossible to even login. There's no console agenda in this article.

Re: Square Enix Temporarily Pulls 3DS Dragon Quest X From Sale Due To Unexpected Success
Re: That Shocking Pokémon Announcement Was Arcade Fighter Pokkén Tournament
@IceClimbers
Re: Talking Point: The Argument For And Against Retro Flash Carts
@Williaint
Re: Ubisoft Executive Talks Up Super Smash Bros. as a Wii U System Seller
Re: Talking Point: A History of the Sexualisation of Samus
@Yorumi Holy crap, you didn't hear a word I said, did you? Quit trying to play devil's advocate. You can't do it. All you're doing is trying to debate the whole issue with variables inconsistent with your argument in the first place.
Re: Talking Point: A History of the Sexualisation of Samus
@Yorumi Be that as it may, they shouldn't treat Samus like she's the only one being "sexualized". If anything, real fans of the Metroid franchise know just how superhuman she is and how off-putting she can be lugging that heavy armor around all the time and constantly blasting away space pirates and aliens that by "sexualizing" Samus makes her more human and relatable. That said, the Smash games have always been about bringing Nintendo's mascots to a level playing field where they can Brawl in fair Melee contests which potentially means making the most remarkable of their characters unremarkable.
Re: Somebody At Ubisoft Really Doesn't Like Mario Kart 8's Mercedes-Benz DLC
Re: GameStop President Says "Don't Bet Against Nintendo"
You know...I never thought about that before. How the Amiibos can be used across different games, and all. The Disney Infinity and Skylanders figurines are restricted to those franchises only. I wonder what Nintendo will do to link the Amiibos together across several different titles?
Re: Talking Point: A History of the Sexualisation of Samus
If you want to look at sexualization of female characters, you need to look at games like DreamClub, Onechanbara, Akiba's Trip and Dead or Alive. Samus' "sexualization" and "degradation" is trivial in comparison.
Re: 3DS Homebrew Channel Reportedly in Final Stages of Development
Re: Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call Aims to be "Definitive" and Final Version
Re: Legendary Actor and Comedian Robin Williams Has Died at 63
Salutations to the Dead Poet's Society forever, my captain.
Carpe Diem.
Re: Sean Bean Declares His Head is 'A Bit Square' in GoldenEye on N64
Loved him in GoldenEye and loved him in Silent Hill. His work in Troy and Black Death were great as well. Hope he's in the business for a true GoldenEye remake with Pierce Brosnan, Famke Jansen and everyone else for the Wii U.
Re: Michel Ancel Forms New Studio While Continuing Work on Beyond Good & Evil Sequel at Ubisoft
Re: Devil's Third Will Feature Chicken Gathering, Sports And An Epic Struggle To Liberate North America

Re: Talking Point: Keeping It Simple Helped Nintendo Triumph At E3
@unrandomsam I'm not sure if I read that right, but you said Microsoft is on top and has virtually unlimited resources?
The only other products I'm aware that Microsoft has is their OS and music player, and I'm fairly certain that third parties are contributing to their obscene amounts of advertisements for the system, in addition to celebrity endorsements.
Rule of thumb: If a company has to try that hard to sell you a product, you can bet that they're struggling.
Re: Talking Point: Keeping It Simple Helped Nintendo Triumph At E3
Re: Satoru Iwata Reigns Supreme in Annual Shareholders Meeting
@biosphere76 You're not the only one. Michael Pachter thought the same thing, but he also suspected that the XBO would reign supreme and that Nintendo should have abandoned the Wii U in favor of developing games on the PS4 and XBO. Look at how that turned out.
Haters gon hate.
Re: Bayonetta 2 Director Eager to "Nurture" the Series With Nintendo Again in the Future
@WanderingPB
Re: Satoru Iwata Recovering From Surgery To Remove Growth, Will Miss Nintendo's AGM
Re: Talking Point: Keeping It Simple Helped Nintendo Triumph At E3
Re: Nintendo Looking To Grow Wii U Audience To Tempt Back Third Parties
@DaveGX So...in other words, you're saying graphics and gimmicks over games? No thanks. I can deal with load times. I grew up on that. I'm not a little kid who has to have his virtual fix every three seconds.
Re: Nintendo Looking To Grow Wii U Audience To Tempt Back Third Parties
Re: Wii Owners Are Upgrading To PlayStation 4, Claims Sony
Re: E3 2014: Devil's Third Confirmed As Wii U Exclusive
Re: Zelda Williams Will Be at E3 2014 "Doing Something Extra Special"
There's so much speculation and hype about this that I can't possibly predict what might happen. Loved those commercials and I've been a fan of Robin Williams for years. Zelda just might be a mocap actress for the next Zelda game, or something...maybe even voice her? ...Oh, wait, the last time Nintendo have one of their protagonists a fully-voiced role, it didn't pan out well with the fans. Then again, Team Ninja is infamous for reducing women into weak, vulnerable sex objects.
