Yesterday, we posted footage from the Wii U version of Watch Dogs, essentially to prove that it actually, you know, exists.
Today, we're back with another — rather more chaotic — helping of in-game footage which shows us driving (badly), hacking (badly), trying to run down pedestrians (badly) and trying to shoot someone (we didn't have any ammo, so that was badly, too).
Watch Dogs finally limps onto Wii U this week. Are you going to be picking it up?

Are we expecting a review tomorrow?
We only got it yesterday so, no, the review won't be tomorrow!
how is the gamepad utilized in the game, what kind of functions does it have?
@FullbringIchigo It has an interactive map and off-TV, I believe that's all.
I think this should answer one of those questions...

I've been spoil free for the past 12 months, so since I will pick up the game today, I think I will resist and hopefully record some mayhem of my own later.
I'm like most people who are interested in picking this up. I will get it in a month or two for next to nothing.
@ThomasBW84 thought as much, still at least it's there and we won't need a seperate tablet and app like the other systems do
If this turns out to be even remotely interesting, I'll pick it up on one of those fire sale eshop days or something.
Although, after assassins creed 3, I won't easily bite for another walk-like-a-truck game.
It looks like a pretty good port actually.
I might pick it up once it is cheaper. a lot cheaper. But it does look decent enough to warrent some playtime.
You were not kidding with describing your attempts at driving, hacking, trying to run down pedestrians, and trying to shoot someone as being done so badly. The ending to that video was pretty hilarious.
Anyway, it's close to Christmas, which according to family rules means I'm not allowed to buy myself any games in case someone else has already bought it for me. It's on my joint Christmas/Birthday list though, so I may get this game around then, though it's admittedly not all too high on my list compared to other games that I'm wanting. Still, it looks fun, and I'd be happy to get it, just have to wait and see if I will.
This being the only (modern) open world game on Wii U... and likely the only one to hit it in its lifespan, I'll probably pick it up. I have no ridiculous beef with Ubisoft like some of you.
Also, hilariously bad moments at the end there! Love it.
As disappointed as I was that this game didn't live up to its initial promise, it's not a bad game and when it's $30 two weeks from now I'd recommend it to Wii U owners who like open world games.
@citizenerased Lego City Undercover is an open world game, and an excellent one at that. I like to think of it as a funnier, less abrasive GTA. Check it out.
waiting for your review, but predicting i will download this one.
Forgot about that one, might have to check it out!
I agree with the Captain, Lego City is excellent and tons of fun!
Again Ubisoft has bad timing. Now for me Smash is coming, for others Pokemon, so I think Watch Dogs will be the last game I want for now
i might have to get this at some point, unfortunately that wont be now because i got to get smash. maybe for christmas or early next year.
You guys played that like a bunch of teenagers at a neighbourhood game night, and trust me, I know what that looks like xD
@ZiggyZane I direct you to comment 4.
Believe it or not I will be buying watch dogs instead of super smash bros! Watch dogs looks cool and being we will never see grand theft auto on a Nintendo system this will have to do and it plugs a big hole in the wii u library!!
"Diamond Dogs"

I had this on pre-order but cancelled when Ubisoft delayed the release. Now with a backlog of games to play (still haven't opened Bayonetta 1/2 yet!) I'll be waiting for this to hit the bargain bin early next year. I also object to spending an extra £8-10 which Ubi greedily added as DLC.
Ubisoft will only have themselves to blame for the guaranteed poor sales on WiiU, treat us better - had it been released on time it might have done well (in WiiU terms anyway)
2 things need to happen for me to purchase this game: 1) Ubisoft needs to demonstrate commitment to the game in the form of patches. 2) Bad Blood DLC confirmation. Unless those 2 things happen I won't bother.
@Captain05crunch I was about to say the same thing, Lego City is AWESOME! Just keep your 3DS handy with a slower game, since it has long loading times.
@Damo So I take it you have this review? If so what's the eta look like for it.
I guess that's one way to get to your hideout! O.o
The driving mechanics look pretty solid. Your driving on the other hand......
Helyeah!!! This is like GTA with a hacking twist... gotta get this.
Game was not that interesting on other consoles... Kinda slow. Not my kinda game. A few friends like it, the restaurant re pretty meh about it. I would fairly rate this a 7/10. I don't see the hype or excitement, but the gameplay feels like it works right!
@ThumperUK thank you! (Applause) I feel the same way too!
Interesting... I'm a Chicagoan, and I'm a little surprised that this reminded me a little bit of the Wicker Park and Old Town neighborhoods. The street lights, some of the architecture, the low black fences. I wonder how much of Chicago's infrastructure they were actually able to fit into this game. Now if you get bombarded by people begging for change in Uptown, I'm sold! In any case, I downloaded this yesterday before work and just woke up, so here we go!
@Akira_1975 the egg comes before the chicken, my friend. If it doesn't sell and no one seems to believe it will, why should they bother? I hope it does, because I want them to bring the remaining DLC
I picked it up and started playing yesterday. What I can tell you so far is that while I am a little underwhelmed with most hacking sequences, as they're instantaneous, it's understandable why Ubisoft designed it that way. Playing Watch Dogs has felt like a mix between Sleeping Dogs and Metal Gear Solid. Maintaining stealth is of the utmost importance, and enemies patrol areas rather quickly. Aiden can barely take any damage at all.
There are SOME sequences where using the gamepad would be appropriate, but those areas are few and far between. It may just be that I've been playing off TV, but saving the gamepad for sequences like those would make them feel throwaway, like Bayonetta 2's multiplayer.
Anyway, as far as the narrative goes so far, it's a little lackluster, but that only seems to be because I can't stop hacking into ATMs, people's phones and traffic control systems. You'll see notifications for things you can hack everywhere, and I do mean EVERYWHERE, when you start investing Aiden's stat points. It's a little chaotic at first, but it is very, very, VERY handy.
Wow, nice, what's that at 0:44, a thunderstorm? The more I see it (trying not to, before I get it) the more I like what I see.
Watch Dogs is a really good game regardless of what you might see on the internet. I really enjoyed it on PC since I didn't want to wait for Ubisoft to get it together for WiiU.
I'm in the middle of Lego City: Undercover for WiiU as we speak and besides the long loading times that someone else mentioned, it is a really good open world game like GTA and Watch Dogs, but it has that Lego charm and humor which makes it really good for me. Definitely worth picking up.
@citizenerased
lifespan? what about xenoblade cronicles and zelda?
unless by modern you mean setting wise. There's also the amazing spiderman games, which while kinda mediocre i enjoyed the first one.It was alot like spiderman 2.
yes I'm totally getting it for my birthday! this game looks so great
Where are the reviews?
Having cancelled my preorder to avoid wasting hard earned money, I'd need to be convinced now to reorder it. It's been two days since its U.S. release and no one has reviewed it, yet Smash Bro's is even out yet and has already been reviewed.
Starting tomorrow I will be doing a review of games that are new and old here on miiverse in their respected communities. so if there is a game you want to get but are not sure... I will give my best opinion. Games are rated out of 10 Look for it soon. So if you have a nintendo wii u and want a good honest not being paid by a company to say good things review follow me here and look for it in my feed tomorrow with plenty more to come.
WATCH_DOGS will be the first issue and i would love to hear what you think about my review in the post... I will be writing it tonight when i get back home and have time to play the game thoroughly and give a honest review.
Follow me here and look for the review in my feed.

Loved it on PS4, and this Wii U port does look good, if only it had all the dlc included it would've got it.
Can't wait for a price drop next month, cause of terrible sales.
Ew, that might as well have brung Watch Dogs to Vita.
@midnafanboy Wells sales don't really mean anything because Amazing Spider-Man 2 is still full priced!!
