Re: Nintendo Wanted A GoldenEye Sequel On N64 But Rare Turned It Down

iflywright

I'm surprised that Rare didn't make a follow up that was just co op and battle modes with you and your friends or you vs the computer. It sounds like Rare wasn't inspired to do another Bond game with a campaign based on a movie--but nobody played Bond for the campaign mode, it was fun but not the reason why the game was insanely popular.

Re: Editorial: It's Far Too Soon to Go Download-Only, and Physical Retail Still Matters

iflywright

90% of my WiiU gaming is digital only. I prefer the content to be streamlined rather than read in portions from a disc (noisy, slow).
I think if Nintendo stops using discs and move to a storage card/cartridge; then they could keep physical sales while getting rid of the disc drive on the new console. I mean if we're not ready to be all digital yet, could we at least move on from disc drives?

Re: Star Fox Zero Delayed To Achieve a "Platinum Feel" in Quality

iflywright

@3MonthBeef

I said Q3 not E3. I think NX is coming by the third or fourth quarter of next year's business cycle. Chances are Star Fox won't be a NX game, but in my opinion if they're already delaying it for a couple months then why not delay it for a few months more and put it out on a better system. All I'm saying is that if Zelda is getting this treatment then why not Star Fox?

Re: This Is The Last Real Console Cycle, Proclaims Industry Analyst Michael Pachter

iflywright

I think that pc's are going to end consoles in ten years. Eventually google and apple are going to be able to bring quality games into the tablets and laptops of gamers because these devices are getting more and more robust and wifi is changing everything about home entertainment. I think that micro and sony will eventually back out of hardware and I think that nintendo will eventually be the remaining gaming console provider because as what Microsoft has recently said nintendo is more of a toy. Nintendo will be able to hold a solid consumer base of kids and families and dedicated gamers like us who love nintendo's culture of gaming.

Re: Video: We Look at Every Single Mystery Mushroom Costume in Super Mario Maker

The wii board was kinda--meh

I really like DK and DK Jr. Mega Man, I was hoping would have looked like he would on NES but it's a nice touch anyway. I wish there was a store you could buy these within the game like you would in Mario vs Donkey Kong, but at least they're letting us unlock these characters instead of forcing us to buy amiibos. Pack Man was lookin pretty sweet

@IrishGamer97

I thought the Boston bomber's Uncle put it across right two years ago, "What I think, what’s behind it — being losers, not being able to settle themselves."

A few years ago the Obama administration put domestic terrorism ahead of all other credible threats to the homeland. There are a lot of people here in the states who are hateful, who amplify it through the internet and buy weapons to compensate for being a loser.

To me, being a loser in this context can stretch from being a person who is incapable of living an inspired and healthy life to those who feel alienated and are economic losers like the gunman in Paris this last week. The point is, is that we don't look out for one another like we should.

Re: Nintendo Hosting Nindies@Night At EMP Museum In Seattle

iflywright

To anyone who's never been to the EMP--GO. It's freakin' sweet. If you're remotely a fan of the genius that was Jimi Hendrix you owe it to yourself to check it out. Plus it's right underneath the Space Needle :v:

There's also a Sci Fi museum inside and you can see the original Captain Kirk's chair buried under the tribbles

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Dismissal of Chris Pranger Highlights Issues With Company Culture

iflywright

It's pretty hard these days to get fired in a corporate environment; people who act in a way deemed inappropriate are usually suspended for a period of time. Like some of you have mentioned, he wasn't giving out secrets, he was just keeping it real. I think it's shameful that they would kick a guy like this to the curb especially if he was visual and engaging to the primary consumers.

Re: Nintendo President Satoru Iwata Passes Away Aged 55

iflywright

I kept recieving these bottles from Windwaker saying 'RIP Iwata' and I thought it was a cruel joke at first but bottle after bottle began showing up in the game. So I took a picture of flowers at Link's island oasis and I thanked him within the game--what an unique and beautiful tribute to honor someone within a digital world they helped create. Just beautiful.

Re: Nintendo Download: 9th July (North America)

iflywright

Mario Tennis 64... really? There's so many other better versions of it including the newest one coming out this year. I don't understand why they don't release F-Zero or Pilotwings 64. Those games are unique in their style and gameplay, kinda essential to the era imo, and probably would sell more.

Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd July (North America)

iflywright

This game is special to me. I only played it a couple times in the late nineties. A part of me wants to buy it, a part of me wants to keep it as memory--righteous gaming of what stood as the last pillar of my innocence. What in the world does that mean!? IDK, I'm just the dude with the Grateful Dead profile pic. XD

Re: Hyperkin Is Working On The Ultimate Wii U Pro Controller

iflywright

Not sure why people love the cube controller so much, especially to shell out 40 bucks for a controller that works best for just one game. Although I'm certain people will want to eat it up considering the fatter design and wireless feature. I wish some third party company would have made a righteous gamepad... rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble

Re: Nintendo Isn't Talking About NX Because It Doesn't Want Rivals To Steal Its Ideas

iflywright

@Senario

Agree to disagree on the gamecube controller; I understand the popularity, just not my thing. Hopefully, Nintendo will keep the Pro Controller as the go-to, considering it's modern and plays their retro games very well, and also because it would be a drag to ask us owners to buy yet another controller. Idk, hopefully all controllers will be applicable.

In terms of architecture, you and I both understand that in order for Nintendo to be in the home console business they have to have a system that can easily accommodate ports of third party blockbusters--the reason why we're talking NX in 2015.

But dude, really, the gamepad is brilliant. I understand if it's not the gamepad that some gamers wanted, but for the price of the system, the gamepad is more than a gimick. the Arkham games with it are fantastic and immersive, and being able to play console games off tv is super sexy. I really hope the NX will have a newer and improved gamepad, possibly one that downloads complete games to turn the gamepad into a fully mobile gaming device--how sweet would that be, right?

Have a good one, dude

Re: Nintendo Isn't Talking About NX Because It Doesn't Want Rivals To Steal Its Ideas

iflywright

@sWiTcHeRoO

I'm sorry, but a year from now there won't be any sexy new Wii U games. I'm a little annoyed as you are because I got my Wii U a year ago.

A new console that is on the same architecture as Micro and Sony will solve the third party situation giving us more and more awesome hyper real games to play. Arkham Knight Armored Edition, anyone? haha Nintendo will fix the situation, and If you can't afford a NX there's still plenty of gaming to do on your WiiU.

The reason why the WiiU game library is sparse is because Nintendo wanted third parties to fill that gap for them--that didn't happen and that is exactly why we're talking NX right now.

Re: Talking Point: The Fragility of Buying Download Games

@Stu13

I used to feel that way about vinyl until I got into high def digital music. Go to HDtracks online and download Paul McCartney's 'band on the run' unlimited (uncompressed) and get it in 24 bit 96khz it is unbelievable, you don't get the surface noise of a vinyl and all you hear is every nuance of the master tape. The future is awesome.

Re: Talking Point: The Fragility of Buying Download Games

iflywright

I have almost entirely digital library for my Wii U. I love it--everything runs smoother. The games i have on disc, I experience laggy frame issues from time to time. In five/ten years I guarantee you that all gaming devices will be digital without disc drives. I don't worry about losing the games I've already purchased because I don't intend to get rid of my wiiu, also in the future I expect an account based service where my games will carry over anyway.
