Re: A Plague Tale: Requiem - Cloud Version Confirmed For Switch

@Friendly

Xbox are really kicking arse with the Xbox Series with its very valuable services finally getting some good exclusive games.

Nintendo as usual are ten years behind...***** I could argue Wii U and 3DS has better services! Normally they have amazing games to compensate but lately their games are just fine.

Re: A Plague Tale: Requiem - Cloud Version Confirmed For Switch

hadrian

This is an incredible game, play it on a more capable console if you can and for less money. Its on Xbox Games Pass too...which you can also stream to various devices so why pay so much when you can probably get a free trial and get more games plus it'll most likely stream better?

Cant wait for the sequel next year and glad I got a Series X as its exclusive to Xbox.

Re: This Christmas, We're Getting A NES-Like Console That Plays Physical Carts

hadrian

My Evercade is barely Everplayed...

I like the thought of legitimate ownership of games rather than piracy, its nice to collect but my issue is the versions of games arent the ones people want!

Then you get newer games like Xeno Crisis. Rather than get something designed for the Evercade, you get a Mega Drive ROM on a cart. Retro compilations, fine its cool for nostalgia but I feel newer games deserve more effort.

Still, the Vs would be neat for the hacking community though it is giving me Amstrad GX4000 vibes.

Re: Story Of Seasons: Pioneers Of Olive Town Has Sold Over 700k Worldwide

hadrian

I've got it. It's fine, that is all but I'm finding it hard to be bothered to play it anymore. I've been spoilt by Stardew Valley and that game is still outclassing anything before or after. I'd say they need to do something new with SoS but its selling well so it won't and we'll get another "will this do?" game next year.

Littlewood is much better, everyone get that instead. It's far cheaper and has much more care and thought.

Re: Review: Harvest Moon: One World - A Poor Imitation Of A Once-Great Series

hadrian

Seriously, the developers of these are just work for hire now. Rune Factory bettered them with its first entry and continued albeit just being the same but a little better but then you have you have Stardew Valley, a game that came out in 2017 and eclisped all Harvest Moon/Rune Factory games before it because the developer (at thattime one guy) knew why people loved those orignal games and then kept IMPROVING right until today...and yet the people behind HM/SoS rather than take inspiration or the challenge to up their game, just either in Hm instance, just knock out whatever to make a quick buck or in Sos instance, just rely on nostalgia or just do something that will just "do".

Re: Stardew-Like Coral Island Wraps Up Successful Kickstarter With $1.6 Million Raised

hadrian

Looks fine, I don't see it being a time sink like Stardew Valley has been. I'm getting bland vibes from it, but I hope I'm wrong.

It's a shame Nintendolife hasnt bothered with showing Roots of Pacha, another Stardew Valley inspired game that has passed its Kickstarter goal and headed to the Switch next year Its basically, Primeval Stardew only it has its own ideas to set it apart from the other cloans(unlike Coral Island which is Harvest Moon but...skill tree?) also has a great art style (unlike the blandness of Coral Island).

Re: Round Up: The Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury Reviews Are In

hadrian

@Munchlax Perhaps reading their review helps? I feel the reviewer made clear why they dont agree with the reviewer who reviewed the Wii U game. It's just someone elses opinion and yet on this site, fanboys seem to ***** on anyone who doesn't love a first party Nintendo game as if they are being personally attacked by them.

It's sometimes good to get an alternative view on something rather than hear what you want to constantly.

Re: Nintendo Expands Its Switch Online SNES And NES Service With Four More Titles

hadrian

These games are just fine, like in a "here's a big game like Super Metroid oh and heres these 3 games...".

I know it's only £18 or something a year but I'll happily pay what Microsoft charges for better content and a GOOD online service. Seriously, what Nintendo has in their back catalogue eclipses what the others have and if Disney can now offer their "Vault" for several quid a month, why cant video gamings equivalent? I reckon sales ofthe Switch and NSO will go up even more if they offered what people wanted...but then what people want Nintendont.

Re: Get Ready For More Remasters From Activision Blizzard In 2021

hadrian

H.E.R.O., River Raid...nah I know that will never happen! That would remind Activision of when they used to be a developer centric company focused on making quality games.

I can see more CoD remaster, maybe the earlier PC ones. Civilization, first Guitar Hero Trilogy (people are starting to get nostalgic for that now!) etc. I can think of lots of actual good games from them but they are licensed or they only put out the console ports so dont actually own the rights.

I'd love it if EA could put out some remakes of Road Rashm Desert Strike, Original Medal of Honour etc but then they'll only ***** them up.

Re: UK Charts: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Returns To Number One In A Solid Week For Nintendo

hadrian

Jesus, Just Dance 2021 has made a massive comeback right? I'm sure it flopped hard when it initially released!

Also remember when people went pre-order crazy for Mario 3D All-Stars as they thought it would sell out forever? Still in the top 10. Probably will still be selling well when they discontinue it in March, a big bulk will be made beforehand to keep it on shelves for a while.

Re: Nintendo's Raises Revenue Forecast For The Financial Year, Expects To Hit $5.34 Billion Profit

hadrian

Treat customers like crap, do incredibly well!

I miss Iwata, I'd doubt any of the Presidents after him would have taken a salary cut and none have bothered to speak to their fanbase. That bried moment when Iwata was in charge was lovely, showed a new side to Nintendo that while they still made mistakes, they showed they still cared about the industry, now its all money...also I think Reggie has spoken more about Nintendo since he left than Doug Bowser has done in his career!

We're back to 80's/90's Nintendo now, only the games are not as good.

Re: GTA Publisher Take-Two Is Buying UK Veteran Codemasters

hadrian

One of the last 80's developers to be swallowed up by an uncaring entity. While Codies didn't always bring their best to the table, I liked that they were still around against the big guns. I hope they don't get turned into Rockstar Southam or something like that! It still smarts to see Psygnosis become Sony Liverpool.

I hope Team 17 are left alone.

Re: UK Charts: Animal Crossing Retakes Second, But Pikmin 3 Sees Disappointing Drop

hadrian

Its a tradegy that people are buying the L.O.L. game for their kids!

I showed my daughter some in game footage to see if she was interested and we both agreed that it looked like some bad unfinished homebrew title from 2001. Contender for worst Switch title. There is no excuse, no matter what age or gender to have to put up with such a badly made cheap looking piece of crap.

Re: Evidence Of Resident Evil 3: Cloud Version For Nintendo Switch Seemingly Uncovered

hadrian

Goodbye specific Switch ports like we had previously, hello "Cloud" games that can be taken down and vanish forever and all you are left with is a launcher.

Nintendo, you seem done with having a powerful games system that will play the very latest games so please partner up with Microsoft to get their streaming service on the Switch. I'm pretty sure they'll let you have a good cut of the pie and it'll benefit your install base tend fold.

Re: Feature: Evercade's Latest Cart Is Offering A Vital Connection To Nintendo History

hadrian

I was exited to hear about this compilation but like most other Evercade compilation disappointed that its not the better versions on there, I'm sure its easier to do NES ROMS than Amiga, C64, ZX81, Amstrad etc but those were the better versions! The "unreleased" ones were mostly versions of others but still nice to have i guess and the price of these carts are still very reasonable and have good manuals.

Re: UK Charts: FIFA Leads, But It's Been A Mightily Impressive Week For Nintendo

hadrian

Jeez Crash is falling quite sharply! Perhaps people are not ready for a new one just yet after a couple of years or just wanted the old ones and that's all or people were happy to pay £35 for three games but not £50 for one. The price put me off somewhat, i mean I'd pay it for a new Mario that is for sure but Crash? Nah, there are platformers I still dont have that cost less and are more appealing for me.

Re: Officially Licensed Keychain Tetris Launches In Japan Next Week

hadrian

@Toy_Link Ive had one for about 15 years or so along withDonkey Kong Jr, Super Mario Bros and Zelda which had two screens. I also saw some on sale in Lidl a couple of years ago. Very good they were, the Tetris one played a fantastic version and the d-pad and button worked great.

This one sorta looks like those knock offs on eBay

Re: UK Charts: Super Mario 3D All-Stars Remains On Top For A Second Week

hadrian

People will be able to buy a physical copy of Mario 3D All-Stars after March, it won't be like they will be removing them from the shelves! If it's still selling well (if there's a new version of the Switch by then sales could certainly increase), I reckon stores will order a big bulk of copies to keep it going well into 2021...unless the scalpers pounce but then stores wont care about that, they'd get their money regardless!

Re: Oops! Nintendo Seems To Have Accidentally Revealed Kirby Fighters 2

hadrian

Hopefully this isnt the Kirby game that was mentioned to have have started development last year! I'd like something more in line to the Wii games and the first 2 3DS games, the last Switch game felt quite bare! But hey, who knows maybe Fighters 2 will be great and not just an excuse to make money from micritransactions if this game has them...

Re: UK Charts: Super Mario 3D All-Stars Goes Straight To Number One

hadrian

@Octane More than plenty in Southend, Basildon and Chelmsford.

Also been keeping an eye on eBay and those scalpers aren't doing well, seen a lot ended just under £50 and once you consider eBay & Paypal fees plus most doing free postage...they are selling at a loss! I would at least waited more than a week to see what supplies are like.
