What's the point of hacking an expensive collectors item versus being able to play nes roms on literally anything else.

@Bl4ckb100d My guess is it was made as a debug to be triggered in emulators or debug units if a certain variable didn't match. But since they ended up making multiple consoles it gets triggered on everything else.

It's also possible they had debug codes to display stuff on their special units. It was like a reassurance which mode you were in if you needed to get the debug screen.

@Crono1973 Game consoles weren't banned until 2000. They were available in limited supply and at an expense a lot of Chinese couldn't afford. The tariffs put on them from being imported caused most of the games and consoles to be replicated and bootlegged. Though I think the Chinese governments lack of enforcement is the most to blame.

Such a great game, it doesn't deserve to be just a late arriving 3DS title without its full fanfair.

I can just imagine a whole multiplayer game where everyone picks bottles over guns because they are more deadly.

@RudyC3 because it used a lazy load system. As you play it's loading different parts because the whole level couldn't fit into memory back then. So when it resets it has to load the whole first part at once instead of a little at a time as it goes.

It looks like a team fortress 2 mod. That may be giving it too much credit though.

@rdrunner1178 unfortunately the 360 and more so original xbox is spotty on xbox one. The 360 is actually more compatible with OG Xbox gsmes.
So I would say more for xbox one games as they get cheaper it would serve well. Of course xbox one prices will also hit the floor if you are not interested in the price tag next gen has with it

I will probably eventually get a ps5 but for now it gives me a lot more games to play with how many older games are getting the full next gen treatment.

Getting mine delivered in a few hours. People can say what they want, it's a 4K gaming console that can play almost everything from xbox one natively, not some emulator. If you had an Xbox one and played it a lot it's an extremely logical upgrade as Xbox one x is out of production and nothing else can do xbox one in 4K.

And stuff like I bought borderlands 3 for 15 bucks and it's going to play like an Xbox series x game. Using the same disc on both systems and getting a different version makes so much more sense than doubling up.

@Damo Yeah, no one is saying it's the same. My point is you use words like that in an international setting don't be surprised if you raise a few eyebrows. They sound funny to some and offensive to others.
I think personally it isn't offensive but it's dumb to put yourself in that position. This isn't like some run of the mill swear word we're talking about here, so if you want to do business in an international setting (like this site) it is a good thing to know.

@Damo Yes, I would never use the word snigger if you know what's good for you. Say that on an international business call and tell me how it goes.

@thiswaynow The word we are referring to it sound like is in english, and I'm not censoring, more laughing at and saying no way in hell I'd say it out loud. As for the other word mentioned I had never heard of it and it's pretty clearly more appalling than niggles.

My Xbox Series X is in the mail and arriving tomorrow. Can't wait, so many games on gamepass that are getting upgrades plus Yakuza Like a Dragon as a launch exclusive. Good times.

It makes for a good demo though since it's a different concept.

Porting 1.5 and 2.5 which were both on ps3 would be like printing money. No idea why square are so spotty with switch games.

@nessisonett oh I assumed since it got delayed it will be next gen but maybe just one of those spanning releases. I wouldn't be surprised if they were paid by sony to do something exclusive with how the console war is heating up.

I still have a copy of tales of destiny 2 for psx, can't believe how expensive it got on ebay. I think we will get a port of the Wii version of symphonia.

@Antiriad2097 it makes it seem like you can pull different instruments from each song to use. I doubt it will be that robust but compared to dj hero you will have some control.

Dizzy is fine but it's hard to get into it now. I played some of the games when I got into Amiga emulation and for the most part they are decently made. Just kinda slow moving for a platformer.

@Gs69 that game was freaking awesome. It was basically the real ssx of mountain bike games. So over the top though, you could basically land jumping off the side of a cliff. No Fear Downhill Mountain Biking on ps1 was pretty fun as well. I think that game played a lot closer to descenders.

@Gs69 well yeah it's no tony hawk 1+2, that's one of the best extreme sports games period. The flip controls take some getting used to, they are pretty loose to let you do weird twists. I think the downhill controls depend a lot on sliding and speed.

It's not for everyone and with a lack of progression of bike stats it's more of a sandbox for people who like bmx. Tony hawk is on another level from almost any other game like it but obviously no switch version

I would go for this if the songs would let you play in unedited mode. Radio edits in a game about creating music is lame.

@Gs69 it's not trying to be like lonely mountain. It's going for more of an ssx type feel.

This is no Lonely Mountain, it's more of a trick based traditional racing style game. I enjoy it quite a bit and have been playing it on Xbox for a while now. Biggest complaint is you can't upgrade your bike, and after the first boss jump you will wonder if it was even possible without an upgrade.

It can be difficult but overall the trick system lets you really play it the way you want and do some cool moves on your way down.

Sonic Mania 2 needs to happen sooner. I have Yakuza like a dragon preordered. They still have a lot of potential.

Sega entertainment should move into the arcade 1up space and work on affordable arcade replicas for the home. Even at 500 bucks if you could get some kind of daytona USA sit-down machine I think people would bite.

Free on phones. It has purchases but can at least play most of it and see if you like it

Been playing descenders for a while on other platforms. It's far from a lonely mountain level of quality, but overall I think it's a fun game with a nifty trick system

So a date is eating by yourself and face timing someone now? And this is the kind of dream date we need to simulate with a switch because it's something that is going to be interesting?

it's not even a switch game, it's an implementation of a cloud based gaming app using the switch

One that happens to let you buy and play only one game. But not a game in itself.

These graphics are definitely running on the current switch.

@Sinton but not half of the best games... I mean best ps3 games, best xbox 360 games. They exist but not on that high of a level.

Even during the Wii era it's half rereleases and compilations.

This game was fun, so people should break out the original psx because it didn't need a face lift? I would say it's a good way for people who missed the original, because it was ages ago, to reexperience the original style of gameplay.

Kind of funny to put new into a game title and have it be a 6 year old port.

@graysoncharles you can never quit gaming. Just stock up on physical now, I probably have a big enough backlog to take me into my 50s if I actually planned on playing through it all the way every game.

Its not all physical but it all runs on a system natively. I mean if you are talking roms we should have handheld pcs that can run ps2 pretty nicely at an affordable price soon.

Are they going to say this about every platform they bring their cloud stuff to. News flash you can't run control natively on an ipad. Guess what guys your phone can't do ray tracing. Pandering at it's worst here, what crap.

This whole thing is like if Microsoft decided to sleep on Halo all the way from Halo 2 to now, just now deciding to bring it back. Announce it then sit on it for a few more years

Nintendo are terrible at easy wins, and the lack of urgency to have stuff like this rejuvenate console metroid games is embarrassing.

Avgn actually has a lot of good gaming facts and history thrown in with the silliness. I have learned a lot from that show and still got a laugh. People who underestimate it aren't paying attention.

Given I can still binge watch more serious stuff like SNES Drunk and gamesack too.
