Looking forward to this one. Theatrhythm was going me of my favourite games on the 3DS and this continues that vibe. Bring it on.
Where is 'Showdown at Hollow Bastion'? Best track in KHII.
Youtube it. I'm serious.
Glad to see a song from Final Fantasy VII and a song from TWEWY in the game. That's cool.
Why no Toy Box battle theme, it's one of my favourites from KH3. Really surprised how small the tracklist actually is for that game over the others, but the rest are killer lists.
They've got Don't Think Twice but not Face My Fears?
Honestly, that track list has made me a little more excited about this game. Really not a fan of what I’ve seen so far but that’s a solid bunch of songs.
@PoorGeno To be fair, Another Side -Battle version- pretty much has Showdown included. Although with a bit different style and completely different intro.
We have the Utada songs, so I'm happy. No Face my Fears or Dearly Beloved hurts, though.
Let It Go, for sure. Kingdom Hearts III was worth making just for the closest we've ever got to a JRPG featuring Elsa (DI was technically more of an actventure).
It's too bad that Rinzler Recompiled from Dream Drop Distance isn't in here. That's my jam!
RIP Deep Jungle, I'm not entirely surprised to see it gone with all the legal issues with the Tarzan franchise, but still a shame, the map and battle themes in that world are some of my favorites in the game.
Oh well, I'm still moderately excited for this game, though what I really want is a new Theathrhythm Final Fantasy game.
Hmm, that's pretty interesting list. You basically have almost all of the field and battle themes for a majority of the titles that SE considers "core" titles (KH1, KH2, and BBS) and a sizable chunk of the side titles' soundtracks when you ignore variations of said tracks introduced later or, in the case of The Encounter, earlier on. The only worlds from 1 and 2 that are missing are Deep Jungle's and Port Royal's but those are understandable given the rights involved (although this IS something of a guess due to "Having a Wild Time" being present in KINGDOM HEARTS Orchestra -World Tour- Album's Threats of the Land medley track).
I'm also mildly annoyed with how almost ALL of the various tracks used for cutscenes weren't included. @PoorGeno brings up a good point with Showdown at Hollow Bastion's exclusion, some of 'em would've been wonderful to see here.
And I really hated to see it in the initial track release put out by SE earlier in the year but Let It Go's presence in the KH3 section (and this game in general) just feels like those one-off unnecessary licensed pop/rock/hip-hop song you'd find in some movie soundtracks.
That "other titles" section is just screams "we're just testing the waters for a Disney-centric Theathrhythm title" if you ask me. Only ONE of those tracks (Beauty and the Beast) is present in a KH title and it's present in a cutscene for less than a minute, having The Lion King's Circle of Life and Aladdin's A Whole New World here in here is making me VERY suspicious.
So basically I feel like the tracklist is good overall. It has some missteps and some questionable inclusions but that's just me.
Let It Go. Of course.
@alexybubble The odd part is that Dearly Beloved has a brand new variation for this game. It's not like it's not already on the disc/cart
No boss themes from the DS game? TwT
No Forze Del Male?
That's a solid list of songs. I didn't like the demo a lot, and the price is very steep, but I'll keep it on the radar, maybe on a sale.
@nhSnork Honestly the Frozen world felt the most shoehorned in of all the new Disney content in 3. It literally just felt like an excuse to flex how good UE4 was at recreating the film scenes frame for frame.
The KH reindition of One Winged Angel was probably my favorite version of the track before Final Fantasy VII Remake's incredible rearrangement that plays during the final Sephiroth fight. Really glad to see it's here.
@TheFrenchiestFry that... and/or the creators just wanted Frozen in KH3 as some of the millions of Japanese hooked on Frozen since 2013.
@nhSnork Well of course it'd be there for popularity. It's the same reason they finally added Pixar worlds as well as Big Hero 6 (which is technically a Marvel world), but like in terms of the actual story context it served next to no purpose in the grand scheme of things
Porting 1.5 and 2.5 which were both on ps3 would be like printing money. No idea why square are so spotty with switch games.
@TheFrenchiestFry it's super clear that Arendale was supposed to be more important than it ended up and I'm assuming that the unexpected mega popularity Frozen gained had a big impact on Disney allowing the original concept to go.
Larxene pretty much talking about Elsa choosing Light or Darkness than that going nowhere makes me believe Elsa would had been a boss in some form.
Such a shame though since the world is so disjointed in its final state.
@spideyroxas You'd think Frozen being as popular as it was meant Disney would want it to have more of a focus for obvious reasons. I'm honestly surprised as hell San Fransokyo and the Pirates world had more consequential plot details than it.
@TheFrenchiestFry I'll be the judge of that (someday when I can actually play the game). If I had a dollar for every time I heard something along these lines about KH story and lore... 😄 Besides, it's worth remembering that the entire series is the product of the two companies deciding to join forces on a crossover of two highly popular fiction domains.
@nhSnork only for one of those franchises to become gradually deemphasized as the series progressed lol
before ReMIND KH3 was like "here's a moogle. This has been your regularly scheduled reminder that this in fact is meant to be a Final Fantasy/Disney crossover"
@TheFrenchiestFry that's why I said "domains", not just franchises. KH's "Final Fantasy" side appears to have evolved into "JRPG genre as a whole with some Final Fantasy raisins baked in" relatively fast.
and off course
no Deep Jungle themes (since Tarzan has some weird copyrights)
and... f*ing Let It Go... people need to let that song go!
Are any of these songs that orchestra theme from the first game?
Why so few songs from Piano Collections and Orchestra World Tour?! And it seems like Disney is being picky with their songs...
You screwed up a perfect opportunity for a 'Hey! Listen!' tagline there, NL...
Apparently it’s called “simple and clean” as well as “hikari”. But sometimes it’s the right version (orchestrated) and other times it’s a lame vocal dance mix sounding one. I hope the orchestrated one is in the game.
I can't wait for this. I wish the FF and DQ Theatrhythms would get ported too
@Kiz3000 Mine too. I hope they bring a version of Theatrythm to the switch as well.
@ImagineerNik Inb4 DLC
I listen to Afternoon Street for relaxing during a sunset... not sure it's the kind of tune I'd beat up shadows to!!
this is a lot more tracks than i was expecting. i like rhythm games so this is great. i would never play the real games but i will play this fosho
Well darn they wont play the recode intro music rip..
