@erv it worked terrible for the new 3ds and any only new 3ds games sold like crap. I think that makes them apprehensive

I just don't understand how you act like no new ddr or kinect games is a deal? The series has been dead for years so yeah if you only like old games you won't like new systems.

@sketchturner I was playing it (Unto the End) on Xbox. The movement of the character is SO slow compared to all the traps and fights. It's very trial and error, luckily it lets you start over on the same screen if you die.

I totally forgot Super Meat Boy Forever was still coming out this year. I love grinding on that game and really enjoyed The End Is Nigh which was like a tribute to it.

Poor bowser having to explain some ridiculous lost in translation limited time offer that doesn't really bode well with the consumer friendly culture of the West. I have a feeling this is purely Japanese and they don't mind it nearly as much as we do.

@Anguspuss to be fair by the time xbox hit the scene gamecube was in third place. I had xbox and gamecube as I wanted xbox for all the exclusive sega games

Those tiny ball mazes are like the bottom of the barrel nothing to do. Even as a kid I saw them as a waste of time.

@eaglebob345 well sounds like we are actually thinking the same thing. See I missed xbox one x and they stopped making it so to upgrade my existing games to 4K it was this or nothing. I actually did it a lot for that reason cause I kept seeing 4K hdr on games I bought and I couldn't do that so I felt like I was getting less out of my purchase.

The only xbox series only game I have is next gen nba 2k21 but many of the games like watchdogs legions or yakuza like a dragon wouldnt have been nearly as good on a vanilla xbox so I would have felt like I was getting 2x less and just not bought it.

Not saying you have to relate to the feeling just the main reason I didn't feel ripped off and at the same time it felt more like a continuation than a leap.

@eaglebob345 people spend thousands all the time to upgrade their pc for the same effect. Games that had insane loading times or ran with frame drops suddenly play great. Not sure how this is any different... consoles aren't going to always mean a new engine or it's last gen.

so I read the comment as I was trying to say the gamepass stuff made it useful and ps5 still useless. In any case no problem haha. I own all the systems from the past 3 generations so better believe I'll still be getting a ps5 some day. I just don't take sides anymore.

@gameboy1975 what are you talking about? I was responding to a statement that said they both were useless with facts about the one I own. I didnt even mention ps5. This new console war is really turning people to take sides and assume everyone else is.

@liveswired you can't deny they were good at kart racers. They could have at least given us 1 more, diddy kong and that disney racer are still classics.

@eaglebob345 well for some of us who still had a vanilla xbox moving to 4k and an ssd is a huge deal. Considering you haven't been able to get an Xbox one x for almost a year now on discount and this is only 100 dollars more. Trust me if you were into Xbox a whole lot and still chunking along on a launch edition it would be a massive upgrade. We don't complain that when we upgrade our pcs they still work with the same games.

Nba 2k21 next gen is brilliant looking, yakuza like a dragon and gears tactics came out dual but on or after series x was out so those are all new.

Ok how about a little less sonic lore and a little more 2D games please. I mean PLEASE, we all already made sonic mania the biggest release and they don't seem willing to follow it up.

I've played the heck out of this game but it's also my favorite 3D Mario game because of its replayability. Something I felt like Odyssey just didn't have. So yeah they got me, I'm going to buy it again.

Yeah because they didn't make enough PS5 or Xbox Series X to beat it. Clearly those systems have insane demand right now.

Perfect Dark was already ruined on the Xbox 360 launch. Microsoft has mismanaged Rare for years, making them their go to Kinect maker and not allowing traditional games out of them like Kart racers and collect a thons. The recent battletoads was cool but at this point my expectations are low.

Play this with the hori split pad pro and you'll be good. I have to assume handheld looks better in motion because those screens are pretty pathetic. I would say it's a good job and maybe one of the last games of this caliber to be ported on the system.

Drunken fist looks hilariously weird but some decently solid scores on steam as most of these are out on pc. Project starship x looks quality, most of these are just silly. Not bad I'll check out drunken fist if the price is right.

SNES english patches online, those look pretty quality. Being the first in the series is always a tough job for games this complex (especially when you add it how early into gaming it was). I mean anyone up for some FF1 play throughs? Cause I'm not.

I looked into marble it up at one point since I was a huge marble blast ultra fan but the price and jump mechanics kind of turned me off.

I find it highly unlikely market research means they don't have a contract. Maybe it would cost x dollars to buy out of it. A lot of contracts are for console and pc still gets a port.

Playstation 5 just released with astros playroom and sack boys big adventure for kids. Let's not pretend Nintendo are the only ones on the job. Gamepass has a family friendly section as well. Nintendo appeals to kids almost exclusively through their advertising, same as they did with 3DS and Wii U. It's what works for them but it's a crutch none the less. I don't really mind though, I don't need Nintendo making an M rated mario game or a violent shooter (again, Geist)

A bit pricey but I'll get it eventually. I like that the adventure has both elements as it adds challenge and really knowing both games for a puzzle fan is pretty essential anyways.

@holygeez03 that's the difference between looking at a game and playing it. I played it from gamepass and was super skeptical but it won me over.

I started playing this thinking it was an elaborate joke and going to be like noby noby boy. The puzzles and platforming are great. Really a large and fun game even for a single player experience.

@jump It's more the fact that no one is going that will put them out of business. If the theatre was packed every seat those high ceilings would not help very much with virus spread.

But packing every seat is what they need to stay in business. They're kind of stuck right now.

I really enjoyed the campaign in the first one and would consider picking it up for just single player.

@itslukec I should say "by his definition". I personally always thought deck building was just a term for making a set deck out of the best cards you can get together and having different decks for different play styles.

@PlayingWithPower slay the spire turns into a deck builder if you are lucky enough to get the rune that lets you keep your hand between turns.

@itslukec I think it's the shuffling between turns that disqualifies it as one.

Cardpocalypse is the one I had the most fun with but also one of the shorter ones. basically a parody of pokemon cards.

The reviews it has for switch are already way better than the ones for PS5. Apparently it's a great looking game for Switch and just an eh for the new consoles, so that's an advantage. Sounds like it's going to be a winner.

The majority of smash money comes directly from casual players. These events really won't effect their motivation to keep making smash games. I think fighting game communities in general have the issue that they are a marginal part of the actual users, don't provide great advertising and come off as pretty toxic in general.
