It's the start of another week, and Nintendo of Europe has juicy Download Update details showing which games are on the way to the eShop. This offering includes a high profile demo, a much-loved SNES game on 3DS and some rather promising new games on both Wii U and 3DS. Throw in a heck of a lot of discounts and there's plenty to consider, so let's get to it.
Wii U eShop
Armikrog (Versus Evil, €8.99 / £7.19 until 30th August, then €9.99 / £7.99) - This stop motion-style title with a clay-based aesthetic has been a while coming; it's a bit of a throwback as a point-and-click adventure with doses of wacky humour. We'll have our review with you before the game launches.
PANDA LOVE (RCMADIAX, €1.49 / £1.39) - The latest budget-priced release from this studio, PANDA LOVE is shaping up to be 20 levels+ of single screen platforming stages; you collect coins and then head for a warp point. It could potentially be some pick-up-and-play fun, and pandas are always a good start for any product; we'll check it out in a review.
Wii U DLC

Wii U eShop Demo
Word Logic by POWGI (Lightwood Games, free)
3DS eShop
The Legend of Kusakari (Nnooo, €4.99 / £3.99) - Developed by Librage and brought to the West by Nnooo, this is a rather cute action / puzzle concept, apparently spread across 50+ levels; you're scything grass to enable a real hero to fight foes, rather like being the unseen wing-man to Link. It could certainly be fun for a bit of dip-in portable play, so we'll check it out and let you know what we think in a review.
Pixel Paint (Rainy Frog, €3.99 / £3.99) - As the name suggests this is a tool that allows you to draw and create pixel-based artwork, with the benefit of then sharing it for the world to see on Miiverse. This one actually came out on the Wii U in 2014 and was rather impressive, so we're hopeful that it'll also deliver the goods on the 3DS.
New Nintendo 3DS eShop
BlockForm (CW-Games, €4.99 / £4.49) - The latest New 3DS eShop exclusive, in this one you control a cube with legs for which the colour of the platforms is important due to its effect on its mood and move set. It's a nice idea, but we'll see whether it delivers on its potential in a review.
New Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console
The Legend of the Mystical Ninja (Konami, €5.59 / £5.00 until 8th September, then €7.99 / £7.19) — When you mention Goemon to fans of retro games, especially Konami enthusiasts, you're likely to prompt a wave of nostalgia. This Super NES title is certainly well loved, an action game full of creativity that can also be enjoyed in co-op; we gave this a strong recommendation in our Wii U Virtual Console The Legend of the Mystical Ninja review.
3DS eShop Temporary Discounts
Shin Megami Tensei IV (Atlus, €9.99 / £8.99 until 8th September, normally €19.99 / £17.99)

Rubbish!!!
Yeah, that is quite a lot of nothing.
Amikrog for me I think.
Armikrog with that price seems really great. I've heard rumours that the game is quite short, but for that price it seems reasonable.
Phoenix Wright demo is also excellent news.
By the way, wasn't Retro Hero DLC supposed to be exclusive for backers of the Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter campaign?
Pixel Paint sounds nice. I may support the app, althrough I have not that much time to work on my 3DS nowadays, sigh. I'll wait for BlockForm review and maybe add it on my watch list if it turns out good. I'm curious how the game plays.
As for discounts, Escape Vector is one of the better games from the list. Not sure how it stands against all the other titles nowadays, but back then, with scarce eshop games, it was fun and entertaining.
Wow. What a great week.
The Legend of Kusakari and Armikrog both look interesting!
I'll wait for the full release of Ace Attorney and skip the Demo. So nothing for me.
Spirit of Justice demo for me!
The Ace Attorney demo for me and I think I'm going to give Shin Megami Tensei IV a try to see if I like the series. 10 bucks wouldn't be a loss if I don't like it.
The demo for Spirit of Justice should be fun. I'll look forward to playing it.
Keep the Snes games for 3DS coming! I'm in heaven
@Kolzig I'm guessing the retro hero dlc is there as a peace offering to all the players who bought it. Not that they'll be buying it.
I want SMT4 Apocalypse already mrgrgr...
You have no idea how much I wanna play the Ace Attorney Demi, but I'm gonna hold back. I don't wanna be spoiled on anything
Mystical Ninja! I bought this on Wii (think I exchanged some stars for Wii Points) but never really got into it. Started replaying it recently and enjoyed it more, but kept thinking it'd be great to play on my 3DS. So I'll definitely be picking this up for a fiver!
Conception sounds acceptable at this price... And that's about it aside from the Phoenix Wright demo, which I may skip to avoid spoiling my appettite for the real deal.
Huh, Armikrog on Wii U? That's actually interesting. Hope it has Wiimote pointer controls.
Armikrog, Dracula's Legacy and Phoenix Wright Demo for me this week.
Nothing for me, hope there's a surprise announcement of the Phantom Hourglass / Spirit Tracks pack for Hyrule Warriors and Hyrule Warriors Legends this week.
I'll definitely be getting the AA Demo in NA this week. Legend of Kusakari also looks fun, but I'll wait for a review first.
Armikrog is incredible pile of crap. Only couple of jokes and only ones that are funny are stolen. 3 hours long with backtracking and barely any puzzles.
As for claymation - around 5 minutes of it. The rest is computer generated.
Stay away.
Konami has tons of TG-16 games they could release on Wii U VC. Don't you want my money, Konami?!?
RCMADIAX is pumping out more games than most AAA publishers these days.
Just the Ace Attorney demo for me this week.
I'm a backer of Armikrog, looking forward to finally playing it.
Still, where are my Earthworm Jim pictures?
Finally I shall get to play Armikrog!
Nice week! But I've already completed Mystical Ninja on Wii U...
Armikrog, out of nowhere! Cool, but I'll wait for a discount.
Yeah the grass cutting game has finally arrived.
WHEN will they release the N64 Goemon Mystical Ninja games? They were the best ones by miles and we just keep getting the same SNES one over and over
There is a discount since yesterday for streetpass plaza games you know? .
I'll give the Phoenix Wright demo a try, and I'm looking forward to the full game.
Blast em bunnies DLC literally costs way more than the game even with its DLC half off....
Wow can the Wii u get any more terrible!!
Let the magic start in 2 week lots of great 3ds games coming. But nothing for me today in 2 weeks I will take some Dragon Quest and possibly Yokai Watch if the dollars are there. Another superb year for 3ds
Apart from the DEMO (which is already sad considering this to be a highlight in a SHOP) the rest continues the trend of:
Armikrog! I know it's probably lesser than The Neverhood, but come on.. Doug TeNapel (Earthworm Jim) and Michael J Nelson from Mst3k.
How come nobody is interested in it. Now I hope Ghost Song will be getting on wiiu :/
I've actually baked that game on Kickstarter to be on wiiu...
I'll just continue with playing Hyrule Legends.
@joey302 Tune in next week! Same crap time! Same crap channel
One of the best Konami games ever Goemon is so awesome.
@Bass_X0 unbelievable- I sometimes wonder why I even bother to click on this weekly article! And I'm from the states so we have it even worse!! IMO
Armikrog and the Zen Pinball 2 Core Collection for me, while they're on sale.
Might give Pixel Paint a shot at last!
the Wii U remaster (?), Secret Files: Tunguska also made its way to the UK store this week.
Anyone aware of the actual changes between the Wii U and Wii version?
