@WiltonRoots - We could get hourly news that way. “We’re now one hour closer to when we’re gonna put Mario in a sack w some heavy rocks & toss him in the harbor”, or some other overly dramatic thing like that.
Wow, what an undertaking, there’s probably more than 652 pages of dialogue in an average JRPG. Looks like it will cover sub genres as well, which is why it can include series like Castlevania and LOZ.
When they come for my copy, I’ll be ready. You hear me Nintendo? I’ll be ready. You know where to find me. I’ll be waiting.
@NintendoByNature - On 21.3.3116.5, 23:54, or forever to be known as Boot Licking Anti Consumer Day When Stuff That Had Been For Sale Wasnt For Sale No More.
@Burning_Spear @WiltonRoots - What about people who aren’t even born yet? Nintendo is anti embryo. What about the CEO of a company who keeps putting off ordering the game only to lose his job in a massive scandal & now all he has left in life is a Switch with no games? What about THAT guy???
This review is a work of great literature and should be treated as such, though it reads more like a two than a one. I was delighted to see this get reviewed and hope as much for the other inexplicable lawnmower game, thanks for playing Chris!
@NintendoByNature - I meep, you’re not wrong about being right. To be fair, you have made this prediction every month for the last 19 months, but to be EVEN more fair... you’re not wrong.
@NintendoByNature - Yep, just in time too, this one barely made the cutoff time when nothing else can happen this week. Think we’ll get some site maintenance or a Direct?
@HobbitGamer @NintendoByNature - Why you guys experience joy? Hate everything and be miserable like us. And what’s with this score, a nine?!? I thought for sure it’d be an 8.759!!!
If the premise doesn’t bother you, the first is a really clever stealth puzzle game with a good amount of content, and this looks to be more of the same. It’s something quite unique to add to the game library, and I can forget about it for months at a time and just jump right back in without missing a beat when the mood strikes. It’s gory, but also heavily pixelated and detached from reality.
Can’t imagine why a bunch of collectors would have an issue with this. I definitely pre ordered physical so that I have plenty of time to play all three games before I have to give the card back to Nintendo in March.
Vince saw a build about halfway through development and said, “Make their heads BIGGER, people like big heads, and give it more hot ARCADE action.” So they did, and I’ll probably buy it.
@WiltonRoots - I was hoping for a 3DS lifetime achievement Direct where nothing is announced and they just review all the 3DS games that were fun, but this’ll do.
@Grumblevolcano - Now we’re getting to the crux of my concern. When judging the accuracy of Jeff’s prediction, which time zone should we use? Japan Standard Time, Jeff’s time zone, BST since were on NL? The variables could lead to an inaccurate score on his track record.
@Grumblevolcano - It could work the other way as well, but you’re right; late Friday night is out. They’ve probably been planning around Geoff’s Friday Night Presentation all year.
I wonder if Jeff specified a time zone in his prediction? What if the Direct starts real late for half the world, and real early the next day for the other half? What will this mean for his track record? We need some answers before next Friday.
@Anti-Matter - Hey Anti! We should do some island hopping soon in AC. I still need a peach.
@Tyranexx - Haha, yeah, and the Very Important Zoom Meeting DLC can’t be far behind that. Hope you’re well, it’s been a busy summer with the kids and the house.
@WiltonRoots - I’m also gonna need some Zelda remasters to play before BOTW2 at Christmas, and at least 35 remastered Mario Games by his anniversary.
This is funny, bloody 8bit hockey with a career mode and RPG elements where you act as general manager of the team and train your current roster through various means, as well as sign new and better players as you win. It’s tough, but definitely doable.
This makes me super sad for all those who want more of my money. Maybe they can add an option to the eShop where we can pay more than list price and include an automatic 20% gratuity to the publisher.
This looks awful, it can’t even run SMB. Look at those images, way too blocky and choppy. What’s the frame rate, six studs? I’ll hold off for the SNES, NES games haven’t aged well.
Can’t see him either, and yet I still know he wins the race with a falcon knuckle shuffle and an altitude adjustment right square in the middle of the track.
My grandpa passed in his mid 90s, and spent the last decade of his life at a care facility where he played so much Wii Sports Bowling that it was mentioned in his obituary. He was always really active, and it was great for him to have a source of competitive pride late in life after his body began to fail him.
This was a rare, day one purchase for me and one of the best games ever made in my opinion. I’ve always considered myself pretty good at it, but I’ve already been humbled by the leaderboards. Young me would be flabbergasted to know that one day I’ll play it at my dining room table with an ice cold beverage within reach.
@masterLEON - Agreed, there’s nothing wrong with the minigame. It only comes up a few times, and it’s very quick. It’s kind of a nice little homage to gallery shooters. Not surprised you have the enemy order mapped out and memorized.
@NintendoByNature - Good lord, this review made me sweat. In a time of downers, you might say this news is a grand upper. It’s been looking like it plays like SOR2 for a while now, so it’s not a big surprise; but the confirmation is great.
@HobbitGamer - Ah, now you can go from no clothes to some clothes in the blink of a fairy godmother’s eye! We knew lil covey had to be useful for something.
Great read as always, Roland. I’m playing with my two kids (3.5 and 5.5 years old) and can relate to almost all of this. We don’t do a lot of gaming together yet, but AC has been a true joy, and the timing is stupidly perfect.
Well, that’s it. I officially give up. My underdeveloped, child like emotions just can’t handle a prank about an app. Time to scream on Twitter then stick my head in the oven.
@WiltonRoots - I forget, do we count clusters? If so, I have bingos galore. Even if we don’t, I have so many bingos I could share them with the entire comment section, but I won’t, cause they’re mine!
@NotTelevision - Crap. Okay, if you promise not to tell anyone else about my nacho cheese iron nuggets, I’ll give you five. If you plant one, it’ll make a Doritos factory. But that’s ALL I’m giving because everything else on my island only belongs to meeeeee!
All you people enjoying your island with friends and family make me want to puke!!! What is this industry coming to when people are forced to share things, cooperate, and get along?!? Where’s my Doritos?!?
I look forward to scrolling through the eShop sales every week. I enjoy wading through it all looking for gems. I just pour a beer and make an event of it. I grabbed Yoku last night and Graceful Explosion Machine last week. The entire pack of Williams pinball tables (season one) is on sale in the NA eShop for around $30. You have to go into the Zen Pinball app to see the bundle. It’s not listed on the great deals tab in the eShop.

@HobbitGamer - Is true. Boiko tell me of this scaly custard ritual what nintendo has stolen with black magic.
Re: Random: Nintendo Changed The Name Of Pikmin 3's Scaly Custard In The West, Thank Goodness
Scaly custard actually sounds more gross than crocodile scrotum as far as food is concerned.
Re: Random: Nintendo Changed The Name Of Pikmin 3's Scaly Custard In The West, Thank Goodness
Wait, so avocados AREN’T croc scrotes? Huh, maybe I’ll try one then. Next I’m gonna find out bananas aren’t Simpson... fingers.
