Wow, what an undertaking, there’s probably more than 652 pages of dialogue in an average JRPG. Looks like it will cover sub genres as well, which is why it can include series like Castlevania and LOZ.

If the premise doesn’t bother you, the first is a really clever stealth puzzle game with a good amount of content, and this looks to be more of the same. It’s something quite unique to add to the game library, and I can forget about it for months at a time and just jump right back in without missing a beat when the mood strikes. It’s gory, but also heavily pixelated and detached from reality.

Wow, really enjoyed reading this. Great snarl PJ, I always enjoy your work whether the game is good, bad, or something in between.

Can’t imagine why a bunch of collectors would have an issue with this. I definitely pre ordered physical so that I have plenty of time to play all three games before I have to give the card back to Nintendo in March.

@Grumblevolcano - Now we’re getting to the crux of my concern. When judging the accuracy of Jeff’s prediction, which time zone should we use? Japan Standard Time, Jeff’s time zone, BST since were on NL? The variables could lead to an inaccurate score on his track record.

@Grumblevolcano - It could work the other way as well, but you’re right; late Friday night is out. They’ve probably been planning around Geoff’s Friday Night Presentation all year.

I wonder if Jeff specified a time zone in his prediction? What if the Direct starts real late for half the world, and real early the next day for the other half? What will this mean for his track record? We need some answers before next Friday.

Oh man, I hope Management Briefing Session is one of the titles in the Mario 35th Anniversary Collection of Remasters for Mario’s Anniversary.

This is funny, bloody 8bit hockey with a career mode and RPG elements where you act as general manager of the team and train your current roster through various means, as well as sign new and better players as you win. It’s tough, but definitely doable.

This looks awful, it can’t even run SMB. Look at those images, way too blocky and choppy. What’s the frame rate, six studs? I’ll hold off for the SNES, NES games haven’t aged well.

My grandpa passed in his mid 90s, and spent the last decade of his life at a care facility where he played so much Wii Sports Bowling that it was mentioned in his obituary. He was always really active, and it was great for him to have a source of competitive pride late in life after his body began to fail him.

This was a rare, day one purchase for me and one of the best games ever made in my opinion. I’ve always considered myself pretty good at it, but I’ve already been humbled by the leaderboards. Young me would be flabbergasted to know that one day I’ll play it at my dining room table with an ice cold beverage within reach.

@masterLEON - Agreed, there’s nothing wrong with the minigame. It only comes up a few times, and it’s very quick. It’s kind of a nice little homage to gallery shooters. Not surprised you have the enemy order mapped out and memorized.

Great read as always, Roland. I’m playing with my two kids (3.5 and 5.5 years old) and can relate to almost all of this. We don’t do a lot of gaming together yet, but AC has been a true joy, and the timing is stupidly perfect.

I look forward to scrolling through the eShop sales every week. I enjoy wading through it all looking for gems. I just pour a beer and make an event of it. I grabbed Yoku last night and Graceful Explosion Machine last week. The entire pack of Williams pinball tables (season one) is on sale in the NA eShop for around $30. You have to go into the Zen Pinball app to see the bundle. It’s not listed on the great deals tab in the eShop.
