Re: The Panda Cup, An Officially-Licensed Smash Bros. Circuit, Kicks Off In June

This is good news, but I don't think it's in anyone's best interest to have two circuits going on at the same time. It just feels completely arbitrary how some tournaments are a part of one circuit and not the other. And the best part of a circuit is that the whole year comes down to one finale, but now there's two finales one week after the other, which is very confusing and anti-climactic. I just wish they thought this through and instead tried to plan together with SWT to make something that's best for the community.

Re: New 'Capcom Creators' Program Offers Exclusive Incentives For Content Creators

Don't really get any of the negative responses to this. After constantly seeing how Nintendo treats content creators, this seems really good. Any sort of effort to listen and collaborate is great, but getting a whole discord dedicated to it where even program managers can see their comments is a whole different level. That's as direct as support can get. It's free advertisement so I don't get why more companies don't do what they can to help their biggest fans who make videos for them. (Of course I have no idea how good this creator's program will be, if at all, but just the fact that this is the first time I've heard of something like this is notable to me)

Re: Talking Point: Why Metroid Dread Will Be Worth $60

There's so many Nintendo games you can reasonably complain about being $60 like Kirby Star Allies, NSMBU Deluxe, 3D All-Stars, SSHD a bunch of Wii U ports, etc

How did Metroid Dread become the one to get targeted like this? Dread is the most worth it by far, especially if turns out as good as it looks.

Re: Feature: Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Is Secretly One Of The Best Zeldas

Temple of the Ocean King was actually my favorite part of this game. So many new shortcuts and areas open up every time you come back that it's a new experience each time. It's also satisfying to slowly get better at it and save as much time as possible. You can even get to the end with the max time remaining if you plan it out.

Everything else about this game is really safe and by the book though. I disagree that it tries new stuff, except for some short-lived gimmicks. The dungeons are probably the most boring and straightforward in the entire series. I didn't have any problem with the controls, not sure why it gets so many complaints about that. Overall it's a pretty standard Zelda to me that really isn't much more than "Zelda on DS". Spirit Tracks was decently better in some ways.

Re: Feature: 8 NES Games That Were Better On Famicom Disk System

@KingMike I think the amount of EXP needed on NES is just right, I always end up reaching max level at or before the final palace before the Great Palace. Either way it's a lot better than losing multiple levels instead of just your current exp. I actually like Tektites being weak to Fire, because that spell is pretty useless otherwise.

That's just me though.

Re: Feature: The Legend Of Zelda Is The Robinson Crusoe Of Video Games

This is probably the most replayable Zelda game because it's short, starts right away, and is so open that you can make each playthrough different. Special runs like 3-heart and Swordless work so well and feel like a completely new experience because of all the options you have. And if you memorize it too much and get bored of it, there's always Second Quest.

Unfortunately this game's accessibility is ruined by Nintendo's greed in selling strategy guides so it will always be underappreciated despite being available on all modern Nintendo consoles.
