Re: Talking Point: Can Metroid Dread Be The Franchise's 'Awakening'?

arabiansanchez

As a kid I wasn’t a Metroid fan. I fell in love with the MP Trilogy. I was disappointed this wasn’t first footage of MP4 at first but now? I’m invested. It’ll be my first traditional Metroid I intend to buy at launch and properly play through. There is something about this that intrigues. Can’t put my finger on it.

Re: What's Up With The Frame Rate In The Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Demo?

arabiansanchez

@Yanina The first Hyrule Warriors was absolute garbage in its original Wii U form, like truly dreadful. They introduced many many patches and it improved a bit. It only really became fit for purpose on Switch many years later.

I’m confident Age of Calamity will be patched just as efficiently. Given it’s in a better state to start with I reckon it’ll come good in the near future.

Re: Nintendo First Revealed The Switch Four Years Ago Today

I think Nintendo have another year on top with Switch. PS5 and XSX will really come in to their own in Holiday 2021, from a sales perspective. Switch will still be very much in the mix though: selling nicely enough.

I think a true Switch successor will land some time between Q3 2023 and Q2 2024.

Re: Nintendo Lawyers Hit Fan-Made Zelda Game With Fatal Copyright Claim

Nintendo have every right to forcefully request the removal of a LoZ title that has been created without their approval. I always fail to understand how fans think It’s in any way uncalled for. If I had a hit entertainment franchise, which just shifted 20m+copies of its latest instalment, I’d also make sure to protect its prestige and quash attempts at adding unofficial narratives between established canon.

Re: Nintendo Is Permanently Reducing The Price Of Switch Joy-Con In Japan

arabiansanchez

@Supadav03 Thanks for that. The joycon probably could be cheaper now, 3 years down the line but I don’t think it was a bad price in the first instance. It was thought Nintendo were originally selling them at a loss. The right joycon also has more in it than the left: namely the nfc reader and the infrared depth tracker. So there could be a case for the separate joycon being different prices I suppose. A bit messy though.

Re: Genshin Impact Dev Responds To Breath Of The Wild Clone Comments, Insists It's A "Very Different" Experience

@TerrakStarsurge SOME elements? SMALL elements? They straight up ripped it. The environments are BotW. It also looks quite different to this Honkai Impact game you kindly referred me on to. Maybe you lack a discerning eye.

I’d also seriously question who is sounding like a ‘damn child’ here; you or the author of the article, other commenters here and me? Be honest with yourself. Or just keep saying ‘toxic’. You do you.

I’d like to state, there’s no reason this game can’t be solid: even pretty damn good. I’m not questioning its potential in any way and I’m not saying it’s not visually beautiful. What I’m saying is it’s basically aesthetic plagiarism.

@TerrakStarsurge Okay, I’m looking and we’re gonna have to disagree on that one. A lot.

You can’t just say ‘cel shaded’ as a catch all term either. It’s not proof of what you’re claiming. Wind waker used cel shading and has a very different style to BotW. Sega’s Jetset Radio used cel shading before that too.

It’s nice that you’re such a big fan of free-to-play Chinese RPGs but you’re kidding yourself if you think they arrived at their latest style by their own volition. You’re also ignoring that the developer straight up admitted their game is heavily influenced by BotW.

But it’s also evident that you’ve got some inexplicable stake in believing what you believe so I’m now realising this has been a waste of typing time. Peace out ✌️
