Will momotaru dentetsu ever not sell well
That moment when the 2DS is doing better than the Xbox Series X, S, and PS4 Pro combined (in Japan).
I really want to try momotaru dentetsu, but sadly I’m nowhere near ready to read that level of Japanese.
A-Train must be a popular series to sell so well at 54 bajillion pounds.
Looking forward to the numbers Monster Hunter Rise will make in two weeks!
When Switch Lite sells almost as much as the original Switch you can safely assume that the OG switch is supply constrained. 100%.
Holy Cow!
Smash is still selling?!
So, I did some basic research and the best first week sales of a MH title was on the PSP - MH portable 3rd selling over 2.15million. MH world sold 2million (physical and digital combined) which at the time was super impressive considering there were only 6 million PS4 owners in Japan at the time.
With all that considered, I’m guessing, with the switch being a hybrid, the instal base being 19mil and with COVID still a thing. MH Rise will sell 3.5 million week 1 (providing they have enough copies in stores.)
Has a game ever sold that many in Japan week 1, am I being way to conservative?? I’m very curious.
Switch (if they have the units) could do Xmas numbers maybe?
@Valdney I have read Switch ideas facing supply constraints, so that is a pretty good guess.
I'm surprised Bravely Default 2 is not selling so well. I thought it would do better.
I thought I liked trains, but these numbers indicate that Japan loves them. 🚂 :train:
Calm before the Rising storm.
Entire Top Ten, multiple titles are Switch exclusive, and five of said Top Ten are published by third parties. Great to see, and like everyone else I’m excited to see what Rise does in two weeks...
@RickD that's the amount Sony sends to Japan. It sells out everywhere in minutes.
It really is amazing how the Switch just keeps on trucking on. It's an amazing contrast to the Wii U days. I just wish more 3rd party developers would make games for the system beyond pumping ports out onto it. And that Nintendo would acknowledge certain series again, like F-Zero, Golden Sun, Kid Icarus, etc. If Nintendo did that, I'm certain sales would rise even more. Maybe not that much by these games individually but altogether it would certainly give it a significant boost. Not that it really needs the boost right now of course, I just really want a new F-Zero already.
Not a fan of bowsers fury. Dontnnnke what’s going on. Strange game mechanics outside the standard platforming
That moment when 2 of the Top 10 best-selling games involve trains.
Maybe a remaster of The Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks could sell extremely well in Japan lol
The PS5 isn’t far behind... with just over 50% of Switch sales. Hmm.
Just started Bowsers Fury today and it's great fun, I could really see the Mario series going in this direction but it could do without the run button as it doesn't work so well when you need to control the camera
@ryancraddock no Japanese charts this week? ☹️
