They need to remove the cutscenes entirely, or put an option in the menu to auto skip all that nonsense that do not belong in an arcade shooter. I don't even want to press a button to skip that garbage, it needs to be automatic or remove them entirely. If you want a story and character development go play a jrpg or read a book.

@NotoriousWhiz Then go watch the CW. Contra is not for you. If they spent less time trying to come up with character arcs and story for an arcade game, they would have had more time and budget to polish the gameplay and that's why it runs like ass. The industry needs more competent developers and less writers.

If you want story, go read a book. If it isn't a JRPG or some big adventure like Zelda, all that is not needed and this is why most mainstream games suck now. Everyone is suddenly a writer, but they can't write and i'm not sitting thru your CW level garbage dialogue because I do not care. Just make a good game with good GAMEPLAY and GAMEPLAY FLOW. They should have cut the "story" and "cutscene" nonsense and spent the time they spent "writing" to polish the game.

@DrakeFeathers I disagree. Nintendo has a bad habit of changing the gameplay for the sake of changing it then call it "innovation", instead of expanding on the core gameplay the made people fall in love with it in the first place. And also, it's hardly innovation they simply borrow from other games and put some kind of nintendo theme over it. Tears of the Kingdom, for example, great game there but not "innovative".. Someone at Nintendo was obviously playing some Garrys Mod on steam and simply put that idea into a zelda game and presto... "innovation".

@Greatluigi People have been begging for Earthbound for much longer. And Paper Mario has more games in it's series. And all of them have come to the west.

@martynstuff The creator is lazy then. It's Nintendos property, and I could care less about his "wishes". I'd do it anyway and he would just have to suck it up because sure, he created it... but under contract for Nintendo. It is Nintendos IP, not his. His wish to only scratch the surface, deny the west of most of that, then abandon the IP. Just because they pump a bunch of characters into the bloated smash roster does not mean they give a crap about the west. The sheer amount of all they have denied the west since the 80's far outweighs any nonsense you listed.

I'm really sick of Nintendos BS with how they downright IGNORE the west. We have been very vocal about our love for this series. Yes, ignore out cries for more Mother/Earthbound - Go pump out another awful Paper Mario sequel. Origami King was SUCH a great idea-- NOT. I'm seriously thinking of skipping Nintendos next generation console.

@GalaxicGlobe Genre doesn't get "over used"? Ever play one of the thousands of jrpgs out there? fighters? first person shooters? Name some other third person roguelite shooters on Switch because i'd like to check them out.

Besides RPGs or Adventures, which should be the only video games that are story driven, I couldn't care less. I'm all about game play, and if the gameplay sucks I don't care to begin with.

PSA: Just because you haven't played a game yet does not mean those who have cannot discuss details about the game in open discussions.So, say you haven't played Tears of the Kingdom yet, don't go digging around on Reddit, willingly clicking on a TOTK thread,browse the comments then whine about spoilers. That's 100% on you. You are not the main character. We don't have to wait for you to play to discuss it openly.

So after hearing people hype this game for years, claiming it's the pinnacle of roguelites...I bought it on sale and tried it out... it is one of the most barebone and boring roguelites i've ever played. Great character design and voice work but outside of that the combat is a snoozefest with little to no variety. It's all flash, zero substance.

@xDeckardx That's never happened to me. The only bug I have encountered frequently is my Ghostbuster throwing his trap at random when im powering up (or down) my particle thrower, which has cost me a match or bounty every once in a while.

I'm just going to say it: Charles is overrated. I'm fine with the new voice. I also like Marios new voice better. All I want is for Nintendo to give us a REAL Wario game. Warioware is nothing but gimmicky mini games where the novelty dies instantly. I played the original once and that was enough Warioware for me to last a life time. Zero interest in the sequels. Wario deserves much better than being demoted to a mascot for a collection of mini games.

@KramersMrMarbles I was hoping we would get a port of Tomodachi Life on Switch, since Miitopia got a port. Miitopia is decent but i'll take Tomodachi Life any day. Especially if it has Miitopias upgraded Mii creator.

THAT game got a sequel? It's one of the worst brawlers on Switch.

I don't play games for the graphics. As long as it plays good, i'm in.

I will no longer buy any game that uses unity.

A remaster/remake of the Simpsons Arcade Game would be great.

Also, a Ghostbusters game with similar gameplay to the old Sega game Alien Storm would be incredible imo. If done right.

@NorwegianMate I believe all games should come with demos. The only way to really know if you're going to like a game is to try it out. I've been burned one too many times by games that look good in a trailer etc that turn out very disappointing once I buy them.

The combat looks like crap.

I wish they would make appliances like Smart TVs with a Nintendo Streaming Gaming service built in that lets you play classic NES and SNES games. With a much larger selection of games than the Switch online service, though.

@MsJubilee I think this game is more based on the license as a whole, rather than it being a direct tie in to the most current movies

While he did a great voice for Mario, I'm not playing Mario games to hear Charles. As far as a new VA taking on the role, I am perfectly fine with it. He sounds just as good imo.

I wish RAD would get some DLC...

Not too keen on the retconning of trademark baddies into good guys. I was very much looking forward to pummeling some Abobos. Still, the gameplay looks great and FAST PACED as brawlers should be. Atleast these developers understood that much. Now give us a new COMBATRIBES!!!

PSA: If you preach inclusion and diversity, yet mock this guy for wanting more customization options for male players, you are a hypocrite.
