Re: Talking Point: Would You Buy A Digital-Only 'Switch 2'?

Zonned

I buy all my games physically so there is no way I would buy a Switch 2 without a cart slot. Buying games digitally is just throwing your money away they have no resale or collectible value. If I am going to spend $60-$70 per game I expect to retain some of that value.

The state this game is in came after around a year of patches on the Japanese version. From what I have heard the Japanese version was a buggy mess with miserable performance at launch. The English version has all those patches out of the gate and the game is still not quite in a perfect state. I still intend to play the game but I wouldn't be expecting any further patches. From what I have heard the team has already moved on to developing RF6.

Re: Talking Point: What's That One Switch Game You Can't Bring Yourself To Delete?

I tend to buy physical copies of games and because of this I am not hurting for SD card space despite only having a 128gb one. Updates of every game I own and a few small indie titles have only dropped me down to 105gb left since I bought the system in 2017. But the one game I haven't been able to move on from since it launched is Mario Maker 2. I always find myself gravitating back to it eventually.

Deleting it would be pointless given it's updates only take up a few hundred megabytes. But that is due to the superior nature of an all physical collection. flex

Re: Rune Factory 5's Local Switch Release Arrives "Early" In 2022

@DarthFoxMcCloud The inclusion you speak of in SOS games were modifications made for the US audience. It's possible the long delay is made because Xseed is doing the same thing again. But it was not in the original Japanese version of those games.

You have to realize that culturally speaking Japan is not where America is right now. And I am pretty sure gay marriage has not even been legalized there yet. It's less out of bigotry as it is a cultural thing there. Developers generally don't even consider it unless the US branch puts pressure on them to do so.

@DarthFoxMcCloud Story of Seasons is developed by a different team. Rune Factory was a creation of Neverland not Marvelous. It's true they revived the franchise from the grave for RF5. However they basically gave the old creator his own studio with his own creative freedom. And he is creating them just like he used to. From my understanding he has refused all input from the SOS team. Complete creative freedom was in the deal for him to come back and develop 5. And this is the guy who fought putting female protagonists in the games until the sales of RF3 tanked. I wouldn't count on any inclusion lol

Re: Here's Your First Look At Harvest Moon: One World, Launching On Switch This Fall

@BenAV @tzahn @Manah @WillTheLion @ACNHislit @PhhhCough Harvest Moon hasn't actually been Harvest Moon since "A new Beginning" on 3DS circa 2012 . Natsume lost the rights to publish them but kept the localized name and uses it to publish fake games. Actual Harvest Moon games made by Marvelous are now released as "Story of Seasons". If you want a real Harvest Moon game pick up Story of Seasons Friends of Mineral Town. It launches July 14th. This game is a fake.
