Yesterday, Netflix released the first proper teaser of its new Sonic Prime series. We got a glimpse of the blue blur and now in addition to this, the cast has been revealed.
For this particular series, there'll be a brand new Sonic voice actor - revealed as the experienced Canadian VA Deven Mack. In a "thank you" video via social media, Mack also mentioned how the existing Sonic voice actors wouldn't be going anywhere - so there's no need to worry about that:
"If I could be serious for a minute, real talk, I'll join the ranks of some amazing talents who have and will still be performing this legendary character in the video games and movies, so I like it to be perfectly clear that they ain't going anywhere, and I wouldn't have it any other way, they've been doing amazing work for years that I legit can't wait to hear more of."
The video game version of Sonic (aka Roger Craig Smith) also gave Mack his blessing via social media:
While we know who the rest of the cast is, at this stage, it's not clear the characters they'll be playing. It's also worth noting that this is reportedly a full cast of Canadian VA due to the rules in place for local productions in this country. Some of these VAs have already voiced Sonic characters before as well and have even appeared in games like Dragalia Lost.
So, there you have it - the new voice of Sonic in Sonic Prime. Give Deven Mack a warm welcome in the comments below.

So is this one based on the games, movies or comics?
I knew that Sonic was going to get a new voice actor for Prime because they needed Canadian voice actors for this Canadian production.
I wasn't expecting he would sound so close to Roger Craig Smith, though.
They sound very similar.
That introduction vid was all kinds of nice, excited to see what he’ll bring in the full thing
Huh, apparently he's also a VA for Dragalia Lost, neat, wish him luck
@FroZtedFlakerZz Not just Deven Mack.
Every single VA listed also had a role in Dragalia.
I actually think he is a neat sonic voice, can’t wait to see it in action or hear it.
I wonder why they keep changing his voice so often. I mean, Nintendo also had/has different voice actors for TV shows and for the upcoming movie but I feel that for Sonic, who speaks a lot in the games, wouldn‘t it make sense to have the same one for the games and the movies?
It's a bit weird since it's basically Roger Craig Smith's voice but not voiced by Roger Craig Smith, but I like it.
@locky-mavo: The games appearently.

Not bad, I need to hear more from him before I completely made up my mind. I also want to here who's playing Knuckles and Tails.
Very disappointing knowing Ryan and Jason were willing to come back, this new voice sounds like another Roger, meh.
I need to hear him say 'That's no good!'
When I first heard the reveal clip, I thought it was just Roger Craig Smith again, so it's interesting that this new actor is emulating Roger's performance.
Brian Drummond is a fun one, he famously dubbed Vegeta in the Ocean Dub of Dragon Ball Z.

I recognize some of those VAs. Brian Drummond was the original voice of Vegeta and Shannon Chan-Kent plays Misa Misa in Death Note. Looks like Ocean Studios is the one handling the voice acting.
Actually, he sounds a lot more like Jaleel White's Sonic to me. Very similar pitch. If he says something like "it's juicing time" I bet he'd sound almost identical.
In Japan, Sonic has one voice actor.
Ashleigh Ball? As in Ashleigh Ball who voiced Rainbow Dash and Applejack in MLP? Nice, hopefully she'll be voicing Tails!
Brian Drummond voiced Knuckles in Sonic Underground. It'd be awesome for him to reprise the role after decades.
@Leprecorn
" I need to hear him say 'That's no good!' "
" 'That's no good!' " ?
@Wurstsemmel753 In this circumstance, Netflix only paid for the rights to put it on their service iirc. They're not involved in the creative process.
I feel him on gravitating towards Tails as a kid. He does a solid job voicing Sonic, can't wait to hear more!
I would like to see Jaleel White voice one more sonic series.
