Japan already has its hands on Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster, but here in the west we're still waiting on a local release date. The good news is there's been some development.
According to Gematsu, the title was recently rated for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 by the ESRB in America:
As you can see above, it's received an 'M' for 'Mature' rating and contains blood, partial nudity, sexual themes, strong language and violence.
This rating hopefully means we get an official western release date from Atlus sooner rather than later. When the game does arrive, Dante from the Devil May Cry series will return as DLC.
Is this a title you'll be adding to your Nintendo Switch library? Tell us down below.

YES, yes I will
HEY
ALL YOU SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI FANS
NINJA APPROVED
Isn't this old news at this point? I'm pretty sure I saw this elsewhere.
Edit: Either way, I'm probably going to try and get this when it releases, mainly since SMT seems pretty interesting, and I heard it was a pretty good one to start with.
@shadowii this.
@VoidofLight Nocturne is a great modern SMT (it's weird saying that since it came out on PS2, but you know, Push System), but the best classic has to be Soul Hackers, especially the 3DS port.
@AeonicB Huh. I'll probably play more if I like Nocturne. I might get IV, since I heard that it's more beginner friendly than Nocturne in some cases.
Cantwaitcantwaitcantwait.
Seems like forever when SMT V was announced for switch launch
@VoidofLight yeah IV and apocalypse was my entry into the series. Absolutely loved them. Sneaking my 3ds into work to jam them during night shifts.
Rated for release in Australia as well:

@My_ultimate_is_ready Then I might get IV, mainly since I heard that there's only really one boss in the game that's extremely difficult, with the rest being fairly alright for newcomers to deal with.
March is kinda spent so to say but I'll pick it up in April or May. <3
I loved the games on 3DS and will probably get this although looking forward to SMTV more
Might buy it but rather later then now and also on ps4.
Yes need some SMT on Switch
@My_ultimate_is_ready "Oh, a Switch presentation announcement takes years to... actually come out in the end. Boohoo" - Steep, probably
Huh, that's funny! The original game was an M but in european areas that use pegi, they gave it a 12+ rating!
Physical release please!
Saving my money for the NMH special editions that are dropping tomorrow rn
I’m hoping the Dante DLC will be included in a physical release. Now if only they could pin down an actual date for it and SMT 5 and announce P5 for switch.
FINALLY! Ready to reject humanity once again!
@samuraicop The remaster have a new 'Merciful' difficulty setting
I’m waiting for this to happen since switch’s lunch actually. It takes em too damn long.
@BloodNinja Thank you for validating me!! 🙏🙏🙏
Oh, thank goodness. Now let's get a release date for this AND V on March 20th and I'll be a happy boy.
@TheDavyStar 🤗
Another god rejected
Honestly I don't really believe in ratings which mean a release is coming.
Same thing happened with Apex Legends. Apex Legends was like rated in October and we didn't get the game until March.
But we will see
@BloodNinja HEY THERE MATE
WHAT ARE YOU SAYING I'M NOT PUMPED YOU'RE PUMPED 😆
Seriously, can't wait for this one!!!
Hopefully the physical release will include the improvements made via updates to the japanese version.
I'll definitely purchase the physical cartridges for SMT III and V.
