Theatrhythm Curtain Call

It's been a few years since we last saw Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy. First released back in 2012 on 3DS, this rhythm-based spinoff later received an expanded follow-up, the aptly named Curtain Call. However - excluding the Japan-only arcade game and Dragon Quest spinoff - we've not seen anything in the West for seven years.

The spirit was kept alive with Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory, and now we have renewed hope thanks to the fact that two recent trademarks were just filed for Theatrhythm in Australia and Canada. Submitted on March 16th, Square Enix could potentially have further plans for this sub-series.

Of course, trademarks don't guarantee new announcements, as we've seen with Nintendo, and Square Enix could simply be protecting its IP. However, the timing is significant as Square Enix Presents - the 40-minute "digital-direct" presentation - is happening tomorrow, a likely setting for new reveals.

We won't have long to find out but, even if nothing gets confirmed tomorrow, we'd still recommend looking into Curtain Call, having awarded it 9/10 stars in 2014. Better yet, it's also included in Square Enix's current Spring Sale at a 50% discount.
