@Mips that's why I have held off getting mine modded as it comes with some huge drawbacks due to the way some games actually relied on how the video output worked to hide certain programming tricks it actually highlights that far too much. Sadly there is not ideal way to get an always good quality picture out of the N64 on modern displays currently.
@WhiteTrashGuy there are some adapters and cables that allow the N64 to connect through HDMI but they are all very hit or miss in terms of overall quality. Mainly due to the poor video out the N64 had even compared to other systems of the time and it also being analog. The only way to get similar results for an N64 is to mod one with HDMI which is very pricey.
@Jakiboy it's not defending them because that would suggest they shouldn't be here I am simply stating people seem to hate things being posted here that don't interest them. As for Reggie articles well many people still associate him with a successful period at Nintendo so will probably be interested in what he is up to.
@Jakiboy what makes anything posted necessary? They can post topics anything they like as long as it is in some way linked to Nintendo or references them. There is no criteria that makes something necessary or not. Also they post plenty of stuff that would probably be news worthy if you don't like this they just can't exactly post news on stuff that doesn't happen to fill up more space to make you feel they are doing more of a job on reporting more news.
Oh no Nintendo Life has mentioned someone well known that people will get angry about just because they "hate" them or something. It seems to be a recurring theme with people on here getting angry over the simplest things because they don't deem it worthy enough to be news to them.
It's not like this isn't common still on both the Apple app store and Google play. I see plenty of games getting released regularly that use Pokemon artwork and don't even hide it. It's also not like the people who approve these apps have no clue what they are or can't check the images contained out before approval. They only seem to do anything after copyright claims are made and they have been up for a period of time.
I find it quite bad that people who were disappointed that a game not turning out how it was promised and hyped to turn out means it is justification why this happened and then they some how deserve it. People's perspective on what is right and wrong are too easily skewed just because they feel they have some right to a piece of software or anything that has a large following these days like games, movies and tv shows.
I missed out on this on the OG Xbox mainly because back then their were so many Star Wars games on all three systems and you could actually pick and choose which ones appealed to you most. So I would be up for giving this game a go since it was one of the better received games. Just wouldn't mind the KOTOR, Rogue Squadron and original two Battefront games getting releases and maybe the Starfighter games as it really was the best time for variety in Star Wars games.
@HyruleanKnight it's not even the times we live in parents also often pick up food on their way from work or other places so it would be impractical even if there wasn't a global pandemic.
Pretty sure unless it is a complete remake it won't turn up on switch since it heavily used the DS touchscreen and would be unplayable. They made sense on the Wii U because the controller made it easy for DS ports to work with little to change.
@HyruleanKnight an age limit? How would that work if a childs parent is picking up the happy meal and their child isn't with them at the time? Would they refuse service?
@DarkScythe13 while I agree the selection and release time frames hasn't been great as for third party games of the bigger release that probably comes from the fact that publishers like Capcom, Konami and Square Enix would rather release their big games now as part of their own collection now or in a one off deal for some plug and play things and mini consoles. So that leaves main Nintendo's own games as the only big release that get released and they have had to find other partners to release games with over time.
I get that people are disappointed at some of the lack of big names being released on the service of games they have probably played multiple times but I kind of like the releases of obscure games that I may not have tried in the past because when you get recommendations for games it's always the same handful.
@tkdboy1889 don't forget at the start of the pandemic last year in many countries scalpers were buying both hand sanitiser and toilet paper in huge quantities and trying to sell them for huge profits. Scalping has become far too easy. What is equally as bad here is that McDonald's employees are taking advantage of this and stealing the unopened boxes to either some dodgy person who offered them money quickly or to sell online themselves.
It's always funny when people make threats like that thinking people companies won't just tell everyone what they are trying as if they will be some how scared of them.
@Ajent you mentioned Nintendo publishing the game. Well in Europe THQ published Conker's Bad Fur Day and they didn't have to approve the remake that turned up on the Xbox. Simply publishing a game doesn't give you any rights over it after the publishing rights expire if you didn't develop the game or on the IP licence.
Two completely conflicting reports on who is and isn't responsible. Although that kind of comment seems a bit odd as that point at least one of the Banjo Kazooie games from the N64 had been released on the Xbox 360 and that was published by Nintendo. I would have thought Nintendo's publishing right to a Jame Bond game would have expired years before and that's why there wasn't any other copies released physically or digitally after the N64 Player's Choice version. Either way it seems like no one knows for sure as it's all third hand information coming from people what weren't a part of the negotiations.
30 is middle aged now? That sounds like something a young child would say. But on topic still have found memories playing it in the arcades back then and even more when me and my brother got the SNES version and we could beat each other up virtually which was less fun for me as the older brother but I still won most of the time.
Imagine being in prison and being asked what you are in for and your reply being hacking Pokemon games... that would be more embarrassing than admitting to committing an actual crime.
I will be honest I was oblivious about the Atelier games up until recently I am surprised though as in the past decade they have been releasing them at a staggering rate for a JRPG series. I thought the Tales games had loads of entries in a relatively short space of time but these ones are breeding like rabbits. I will be giving the games a go though starting with Rorona and working forward from their release in 2010 since there have been about 12 games released since then I think I will be well occupied.
No Man's Sky was unfortunately a game that was built by a very small studio that was hyped so much because what it promised on. Also when a small studio like that has to release a game by a certain deadline with very little resources it isn't a surprise in released in the state it did. If it wasn't picked up so early by Sony for PS4 release they probably wouldn't have had such an unflexible release period. Commercial pressure to get things released quickly by publishers often plays a big part in that and the way they go around hyping it up. So out right blaming those who make the game isn't always the right thing as their are other factors.
Well the video wasn't leaked online like the headline says the guy who posted it had teased that he had access to it for some time leading up to do the livestream so it wasn't like he did it anonymously.
Also many people seem to think the reason why this version never seen the light of day was to do with Nintendo and Microsoft not being able to come to an agreement. When that has nothing to do with it as it was to do with those who held the bond license at the time. Nintendo would have nothing to do with a game they didn't hold the license for and didn't own the developers at the time that being Rare. If that was the case Nintendo would continue to own the rights to all Rare game IPs made while they worked for Nintendo which they don't since they retained all of that when Microsoft purchased them. Rare nor Nintendo had any say in the James Bond license and it was up to Microsoft to come to that arrangement which they couldn't.
Not really surprising at the price and how popular of a social game it is. Once games like this become popular through twitch and youtube they become instant hits when released somewhere new. Rocket League was the same before it became free to play
Isn't this common sense on making multiple variants of hardware make sure it runs on the lowest spec device first? That is probably one thing that will hold many Xbox games back for the next few years as all exclusives are still going to be targeting the base Xbox one. It's not so bad if it's only meant as a mid life cycle enhancement but the problem comes when you still target your previous generation of hardware as the minimum target.
I would rather have the Neo Geo version over the pocket version as if I am correct that is one of the few Neo Geo SNK fighters never to be released digitally and outside of the PS2 and Xbox ports it hasn't seen the light of day on any system since.
How is this a Switch wannabe? It's has no functionality of a switch since it is handled only and has no detachable controllers. Is it's design similar? Yes but that's it. Saying that every year you get handheld PCs like this and none of them really catch on outside of a small market as in terms of PC gaming they get outdated fast with no long term specific software support.
@milvus976578 most modern games on PC support controllers and for the most part through steam many older games have got controller mapping configurations. But I agree that many games aren't optimised for this and certain ones just won't work with a controller because of their original interface.

I always felt ridiculously inferior back in the day when people used to send their times into magazines on Mario Kart 64 using exploits like this on 3 laps on a row when only ever managed to pull most off once or twice at most unless they were really easy. As fun as it is to see them in action a lot of them don't make you good at racing in any way just just good at running in to parts of the track at specific angles.
I always questioned at the time why magazines didn't print both times using these glitches shortcuts and times where no shortcuts were taken. Then again I seemed to be in the minority wanting that.

So much anger over an article some people need to chill out. If you aren't interested in the content that is fair enough but calling it pointless just because it doesn't involve something you will get excited about means your expectations of what should or shouldn't be classed as news is a bit lopsided.
@FargusPelagius most app developers tend to stop updating their apps on older devices and where they were once stable they seem to become unusable more than likely because of several small system firmware updates that probably break compatibility with them. I loaded up my old PS3 recently and the streaming apps that still do work have issues at some point or another when they never used to. That's what happens though it's no different to most old android or iOS devices from the same period having playback issues.
I do love secrets like this that were hidden for ages and no one figured them out. Usually all cheat codes got distributed in magazines after the publishers released them so the magazines could test some games easier. I still remember a few years after Goldeneye was released when a load of cheat codes were all suddenly just released out of no where and managed to keep their existence a secret for ages.
I'm actually more shocked that anyone is reliant on using Netflix solely on a Wii U or 3DS at this stage when there are better options for streaming out there at this stage. More than likely though Netflix looked at the data and only a small handful were still using the app on these systems anyway so makes sense to no longer support it.
Someone who has gone mad with power and thinks everyone needs financial help as well as to become Catholic? Not surprising really seen most places on reddit seem to become a law upon themselves and almost like a cult for people who are on specific ones long enough.
What is this myth that because you are a gamer you eat weird flavoured crap food? The amount of effort that went into making that you could probably make a proper meal that isn't full of sugar. Plus it looks discusting.
