Well, here's a crossover you might not have expected. Epic Games has announced that Fortnite will soon be teaming up with the beautiful game, as a number of football teams (or soccer, for our American chums) will appear as in-game outfits.
Starting from 23rd January, players will be able to choose from ten different variants of male and female 'Kick Off set' outfits that represent the clubs listed below. With a decent chunk of the Nintendo Life team supporting the fearless foxes at Leicester City, we can't help but feel a little left out – but hey, you can't have everything, right?
- Manchester City FC
- Juventus
- AC Milan
- Inter Milan
- AS Roma
- Seattle Sounders FC
- Atlanta United
- Los Angeles FC
- Santos FC
- Wolves
- West Ham United FC
- Sevilla FC
- Sporting CP
- Borussia Mönchengladbach
- FC Schalke 04
- VFL Wolfsburg
- Rangers FC
- Celtic FC
- Cerezo Osaka
- Melbourne City FC
- Sydney FC
- Western Sydney Wanderers
- EC Bahia
There's also a special event taking place in celebration of legendary Brazilian football star, Pelé. His iconic 'Air Punch' celebration will make it into the game as an emote on 23rd January, alongside a Pelé Cup which kicks off slightly earlier on the 20th. Players participating in this cup will have a chance to win the Air Punch Emote and Kickoff Set for free.
Will you be dropping into a new game with your favourite team's kit later this week? Feel free to Air Punch your thoughts into the comment box below.

This shouldn't be as funny to me as it is. Never expected to see it
Epic is scummy no one should support them
The definition of top football teams seems to be a loose definition based on this list.
Football would be a lot more interesting if they shot each other.
Well it's interesting to see from a licensing perspective anyway.
Since Fortnite is an American game you should probably use American terminology and call them soccer teams.
@FluffiestP1llow You say on a website called “Nintendo Life”
Like I said on pushsquare
Not even one dutch team? Not even ajax? The club known to have trained the best footballers in the world under their youth training program?
No love for my beloved Brighton and Hove Albion Seagulls, Fortnite? Must have been an oversight.
Fortnite and branded fluff is like rocket league and branded fluff. F2P has its costs.
They even put soccer in this game.....
Top teams? lololololololololololol
That’s cool and all, but Predator comes out tomorrow and a possible tomb raider crossover later on. I think that news is more worthy of an article than these skins (which we already have in game, just not branded.) Oh wait. No one cares about Fortnite, but for some reason take there time to complain about it in the comments HMMM...
At least they have Celtic. Although just the fact the have Rangers opens the possibility for outright wars of religion. This should be fun.
Gonna be providing my son a list of teams he is banned from playing as or risk being turfed out of the house. Lol
@Noid i don't care what website its on, the recent events with epic has been super scummy.
@JimmySpades UK site, UK writers, UK spelling. As simple as that 🤷🏼♂️
There's plenty of Murican Nintendo sites out there, it's not like NL is the only one.
@FluffiestP1llow But not recent events with Nintendo?
@Noid they have been scummy too but this isn't an article about Nintendo, its about fortnite and epic.
Eyyy nice Leicester supporters
@iulis84 If it's anything like American sports they make almost all their money off merch and tv deals. So they are still making bank even without seats sold.
@iulis84 we also have a heck of a lot less teams than euro football so that helps. I don't know how AAA baseball and other more localised sports are doing but it's understandable that countries like Romania don't have massive national tv deals like here. I guess it's supply and demand and here there is not a lot of supply (1 league per sport type) and crazy high demand.
@clvr "UK spelling"? I'll admit that I'm disappointed that my attempt at linguistic trolling didn't get quite the response that I was hoping for, but I didn't expect anybody to argue that America and England spell "football" differently. That more than makes up for it.
Where’s Norwich at?
@JimmySpades hey as a non-native speaker I'm sorry I didn't use the exact term, I'm certain it was such a pain to realize what I was getting at 🙄
And if a non-native gets the territorial difference, then probably you're just moaning for the sake of it.
I gave you an answer, you chose to be rude about it and even called me a troll, what do I have to do with you? Lol
Don't even bother replying for the love of god lol
