This is actually a tough list for me as I loved and played a huge portion of the library of PAL released games. Personally I never had an issue with the controller or how to use it because it was obvious if you had common sense, that and it even shown you in the manuals.
I would consider picking this up but I don't live in a spacious house that is so big I can actually set up a race course. It seems to be aimed at a very specific market which is all well and good. But I feel it may have been a better seller if the Karts were smaller.
I always find most gaming commercials generally bad and as time has went on with the videos being available online they tend to be the best way of selling games to people who are actually interested. If anything TV commercials tend to be aimed at people who have no clue what games are what or to sell the idea of something. If commercials for games on tv were more like movie trailers they would probably better as a whole.
@HotGoomba well the reason it was called Final Fantasy in the first place was because it was potentially Squaresoft's final game if it didn't sell well as it basically saved them from going out of business. So technically the first could have been the last and the company's final fantasy of a game.
@blockfight while it is no fad it is still very niche and as a stand alone product isn't enticing for that many people. OnLive shown that people weren't all that interested in investing in streaming only as their primary gaming choice because of the prices and lack of ownership. It would seem Google has ignored that and pretty much delivered an almost identical model and then been surprised it didn't have millions of people using it. Obviously it also doesn't help for a service that was promised to be on near enough any modern smart device but is still locked behind Google specific hardware or ones approved by them same goes for having to use their specific controller unless you are sat at a PC. It may eventually reach those promises but most people got turned off when they were pretty much told you need specific hardware to play something that was advertised as being accessible on every device. That is for me why I think it should be a supplementary service and not a primary one.
@blockfight I am not saying you do personally but it is being marketed as that and for something that the cons outweigh the pros on currently for me it isn't a good investment. Now is it was like PSnow and was accessible on a console to boost the selection of games to one's that can't run natively on it or one's that are too advanced for it like certain games on the Switch in Japan I could see it catching on faster. As a stand alone service well it obviously isn't appealing to any where near where the amount of people even Google expected.
I have read reviews of this online after it appeared on the coming soon section of the eshop and from what I have read it is very short and you can get 100% in a hour as it is more like a tech demo than a full game hence the price being so low.
@blockfight those maximum settings may not be important to most but it was what was promised for the service for delivering something better in terms of visual fidelity than home consoles can. Since it can't do that and only just about match them currently I don't see the appeal of something that doesn't deliver on that promise and has no real benefit over me simply purchasing a game digitally that I can then play offline if I choose. I can see its benefits in ways as I have used PS Now plenty of times but don't view something like that as a primary way to play games due to possible internet down times that ruin the experience.
@BulbasaurusRex the framerate really isn't stable at all and it is evident in the character movement because it aims for 60 fps it never reaches it at least the original stays closer to 30 most of the time and the Gamecube version would have been far better at a locked 30 than one that aims for higher and never achieves it.
I have had a look at 171 and from the videos on YouTube it looks impressive and it is a pre alpha build of the game on steam so it will be interesting to see how it scales down in a switch version. I will be honest I am not expecting it to be anything more than a clone of GTA but it may be the best one from a graphical point of view at least that comes from a small studio.
@dres well when the service was announced and it was advertised that the games would be running off of hardware that had more computing power than those two systems combined and not some where in between those two systems I would say that it has failed to deliver on that already. It's all well and good saying they have this power and potential power in the future but pushing all of that extra graphical fidelity over a stream seems to have a limit and isn't quite what was originally promised. I am not saying they don't have the potential to be far superior to that any hardware that can be in the home but we are still a long way from that happening in reality with tech advancing faster than developers can take advantage of it.
@blockfight the whole promise of delivering next gen games for Google Stadia is a bit of a mixed bag as so far it has struggled to deliver games that meet the average graphical settings for these games and even developers have came out and said the games are running at something like medium settings. If they are struggling to stream games that match the current generation already then they already need to massively upgrade their infrastructure. I can see the incentive for simply having to pay for software rather than the hardware but still for many paying the full price for those games and it really only being a licence to use it while it is a part of that cloud ecosystem is off putting for many.
I think this really shows how bad 3D sonic games have been overall in quality. Also I see a lot of people saying how good SA1 was but from what I remember playing the Gamecube version was that the frame rate was all over the place and and made the game nearly unplayable at times. So if that is the third best 3D Sonic game it shows how low the bar is.
@blockfight the problem is starting off with a negative reception is a hard thing to overturn. Yes they can just play the long game and keep throwing money at the services until they become successful and exclusives may indeed come. But the possibility of exclusives that you have no idea what they are means people won't be drawn in by potential. I'm not saying there won't be a chance of really good exclusives just the ones who are buying these services are simply doing it for games they can already play on other platforms and that don't require to be constantly connected online to play them once they have them installed.
Cloud gaming for me doesn't have any huge appeal since there are no games you can't play on actual hardware. It's all well and good offering those games but if you have no games that are exclusive to that service that are able to make people see it as a good investment no one will see at anything more than a novelty. OnLive failed because of that despite actually having innovative features for the time as far as the social aspect was concerned. It offered nothing as far as exclusives but the original CEO also didn't help them. Google Stadia has came across the same issue and people are less likely to outright buy a cloud game because once OnLive went down so did all those games people had paid for. The problem I think dev teams will have with subscriptions if their games go on them right away as well as having the game available at full price physically and digitally is it could devalue a lot of newer games and make them sell less. For smaller devs unless the value offered to be on these subscription services is greater than what it cost to make the games it could mean they lose money since people will only play they game as part of the service.
@grayadamson I have been hoping that comes to Switch since DC Universe Online came out. I have sunk thousands of hours into it but the idea of being able to play it in most places on my Switch is very appealing. Hopefully one day soon.
If it doesn't implement any new features over last years version I will skip this years one. I actually like the Touch version as it puts in more in line with how the games were a decade ago. One thing I wished it did have was keeping track of players season stats over their careers rather than just the current season.
Well increased resolution will make it look better that is a given. But on a base level outside of the resolution increase the game looks identical since it hasn't had anything else changed I think Mario 64 having the text and the rest of the on screen displays increased is the only real graphical improvement if you want to call it that.
This isn't news it is to be expected. EA isn't one to invest time in implementing anything new on it's old engine that is now effectively about 7 years old they did the same when keep releasing the same game for years on the PS2. The thing is people will buy it regardless because it is the only option on Switch. Legacy Edition means no effort edition.
@bryce951 having a bad day? Is your life not full of joy anymore? Seems a bit negative for someone who obviously likes that "plastic crap" and is on a website dedicated to it.

Kind of annoying that this will only be available for about 6 months physically. I can almost guarantee by this time next year the physical versions price is going to be stupid with resellers. That is the very first thing that came to mind when it was said. I'm also disappointed that Galaxy 2 isn't in this collection since for me it is the best of those four. @mattesdude Rayman wasn't it was originally a Jaguar exclusive before being sported to the Saturn and Psone and the second one launched on the N64 before being released on everything else after several months of exclusivity. To my knowledge no mainline Rayman game ever launched on a Sony system first for a period it was either multi platform day one or ported later.
@dux since Tomb Raider started it was on bother Playstation and PC with the Saturn and Dreamcast even getting some of the original games. Even the following generation the games were mostly multi platform and the Gamecube and Wii had most from that gen released before the reboot. So it was more synonymous with the Playstation brand than exclusive.
What's worse is when we find out this is based on real life events based on a member of the dev teams past we will all have to act surprised. This is no more disturbing than the amount of Japanese games that focus on trying to seduce school girls or what ever the aim of some of those games are.

I read the headline as if people had been waiting for it to be released specifically on Switch for some reason. Probably would take me 27 years to get started on a game so they are way ahead of me.
The first game because a cult classic for being bad in a huge amount of ways. Pretty sure they were almost lazy with the development of this on purpose.
So he gutted out a Satellview and just stuck a regular playstation in it? I would only be good if the SNES controllers actually played the games on it too but obviously that wouldn't be possible in fact I can't see how you would actually play the playstation on this as I can't imagine all of the ports are around back and they don't seem to be on the sides.
Famitsu has always been one that likes to praise many Japanese made games but much like any review it is opinion and the score alone doesn't really express opinion on how they all scored it. Some people often ignore the content of a review and just use the score to see if they will like the game often getting angry at review scores for not liking the content a game has after they play it.
The joystick and button's are far too close together on this like they were on the neo geo one for me they should use a slightly larger base to have a much more natural and comfortable feel and a slightly larger screen.
As much as Microsoft could use it to gain some major exclusives and good developers. I am worried if that happens based on their track record of doing such things with big name devs in the past only to make all the staff unhappy until the point where the key people all leave and they become a shell of their former selves and get shut down.
@mauhlin12 I am hoping for an official translation of treasure of the rudras at some point. From a graphical stand point with all of the battle animations it's always what I imagined another Final Fantasy game would have looked like on the system.
@Heavyarms55 that seal of approval meant little when there were still loads of crap games being released on systems. If anything it just meant it was an officially licensed product.
When I seen the game it just looked like a cheap made game from the screenshots and it was thrown together using other people's assets... turns out it wasn't just the look of it that used that method.
@TryToBeHopeful they seem to be permanently free with every new game published by the publisher a good way to keep them in the best selling games I guess

Re: Shin Megami Tensei Is Being Added To Japan's NSO Super Famicom Collection
@TechEagle it would me more down to Atlus than Nintendo for never translating the Super Famicom version.
Re: The First Review For Paper Mario: The Origami King Is Now In
Famitsu has always been one that likes to praise many Japanese made games but much like any review it is opinion and the score alone doesn't really express opinion on how they all scored it. Some people often ignore the content of a review and just use the score to see if they will like the game often getting angry at review scores for not liking the content a game has after they play it.
Re: Sega Just Announced A New Micro-Console, And It's Packed With 36 Arcade Gems
The joystick and button's are far too close together on this like they were on the neo geo one for me they should use a slightly larger base to have a much more natural and comfortable feel and a slightly larger screen.
Re: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment Is Reportedly Up For Sale
As much as Microsoft could use it to gain some major exclusives and good developers. I am worried if that happens based on their track record of doing such things with big name devs in the past only to make all the staff unhappy until the point where the key people all leave and they become a shell of their former selves and get shut down.
Re: Square Enix Trademarks Super Famicom RPG Live A Live In Australia And Europe
@mauhlin12 I am hoping for an official translation of treasure of the rudras at some point. From a graphical stand point with all of the battle animations it's always what I imagined another Final Fantasy game would have looked like on the system.
Re: Square Enix Trademarks Super Famicom RPG Live A Live In Australia And Europe
Only took them 26 years still though they could do this for so many games that never originally left Japan and would probably make a fair amount.
Re: Switch Game Final Sword Removed From Japanese eShop For Using Legend Of Zelda Music
@Heavyarms55 that seal of approval meant little when there were still loads of crap games being released on systems. If anything it just meant it was an officially licensed product.
Re: Switch Game Final Sword Removed From Japanese eShop For Using Legend Of Zelda Music
When I seen the game it just looked like a cheap made game from the screenshots and it was thrown together using other people's assets... turns out it wasn't just the look of it that used that method.
Re: Switch Owners Can Claim A Free Game Today If They Already Own One Of These Titles
@TryToBeHopeful they seem to be permanently free with every new game published by the publisher a good way to keep them in the best selling games I guess
