I think there was an issue with the digital and physical # of games question. I have 106 digital games and it told me I was out of range. It accepted 100. Just thought id point that out. Anyone else experience that?

Voting for "Nintendo will never make another 3D Mario game" takes a special kind of bravery.

some of these questions make assumptions, for example "Have you upgraded from Switch 1 to Switch 2?" there was no option for "i use both my switch 1 and my switch 2, so i wouldn't call it an upgrade."

also i can't believe there was no "other" option for "Which is your all-time favourite Nintendo series?" . Why can't I put Mother as an answer?

Also about physical vs digital.
Depends on if the game depends heavily on online or if I expect major updates to the game.

Also if I will play short bursts I prefer to not have to swap cards.
For any bigger e.g. adventure game I plan to play from start to finish I prefer physical.

I still don't have a plan to get Switch 2, but I keep my eyes on whatever happened.

I think someone’s device autofilled Raiders onto the word Splatoon for Favorite Series b/c Raiders only has 1 game, so not really a “series”.

The game series most of us want on Switch 2 which isn’t yet is obviously 3D Mario and it was a great oversight not to include it.

Edit: PSA I just scrolled up the page and there were 5 FIVE questions that I hadn’t answered even though I was sure I answered them all. I think every time I hit submit the page autoscrolled down, a lot. I mean sure if I missed 1 that’s on me, but 5 the survey page is misbehaving. So anyone reading this may want to scroll up and look for big black submit buttons you might have missed. Though I am filling this out in landscape mode on my iPad - probably should have been a question- and most of you are probably in portrait mode on your phone so you can probably see more of the page, I can only see 1 question list at a time.

Just for future survey consideration, there was not an option to say I haven’t made a bad Switch 2 purchase (so far no regrets!), and the answer as to “how many Switch 2 games” is likely very misleading as the VAST (embarrassingly / irresponsibly) large majority of my games on S2 are my S1 games. When I tried to give an answer accounting for those, it said “Answer out of range.”

Also, if there had been a 1-10 “how happy are you with Switch 2,” my answer would be 9. Fantastic system, immediate and shocking upgrade (I didn’t expect it to be such a jump), but my only gripe is it feels like Nintendo still hasn’t brought in the big guns first party wise. Not that there haven’t been some great games (love the Star Fox remake; excited to try DK), and it is unfair to compare any launch year lineup to the S1 (BotW and Odyssey from the jump, I still can’t believe it). But it does feel like Nintendo so far has been treating S2 as an upgrade rather than a new system. But it is one heck of an upgrade!

@Divide_and_Wander I interpreted it as how many Switch 2 games you own, so I put 3 for digital and 4 for physical. Maybe that's why the value cap was low.

Unfortunately, there's no way I can answer question 53 honestly. I have never actually watched a Nintendo Direct in full via any avenue, but the options are set up to assume that everyone who takes the survey does watch the full Nintendo Directs.

(I also didn't submit an answer for question 33, but that's because there's really no Switch 2 purchase I'd consider "bad" by any stretch of the imagination. I also blundered in my input for question 57; I meant to answer a 2-6 split, in both cases including those Switch 1 games I upgraded via upgrade pack [1-1 directly as Switch 2 products, 1-5 via upgrade packs], but something slipped off before I actually hit submit and the answer on record for me is 0-6...)

Games like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza could not have been made for Switch 1 and thats not (all) about resolution, fps or HDR.

Last comment (sorry!): for the favorite game / favorite feature questions, I think it would be more representative if we could answer with S1 games that just perform better on S2 even without an official release (e.g., Link’s Awakening remake is probably my favorite gaming experience on S2 so far; noticeably better performance makes it a perfect top down Zelda) and/or a true “fill in the blank” option. Re the latter, my favorite switch 2 feature is either just the feel in my hands (so much more comfortable) or the somehow-even-better pro controller for docked mode (and I loved my S1 pro controller). Thank you, I know survey design is impossibly tricky, so these are just suggestions for next time.

Hey @antdickens I know you got some tech nerd in you, why no questions like “how do you read NL, on PC, laptop, tablet, phone other?” or “What web browser do you use Safari, Explorer, Chrome, Brave, other?” and “What operating system are you using for NL, Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android, Linux, other?”

I mean yeah sure you’re scrubbing all that any way but at least give people the illusion you aren’t spying on us.😉

Oh and why not ask about your paid subscription membership? Haven’t seen an article about that recently. New readers may not even know you’re accepting donations to remove ads and others may have forgotten it’s an option. What was it, like $8/m, or is that Twitter? You can ask why people aren’t signing up, or how much they would be willing to pay. (Though I’m sure you spent a lot of time coming up with the amount you did. 😁)

I think the ranges on how many full price games you buy in a year are too broad. I might buy 1 full price game a year, but not remotely close to 5, and I think that is better information than assuming I'm purchasing full price every 2ish months. It could be a typed response question and then plot the answers.

I'd like to point out a few things though:

•I dont know the size of my memory card, so guessed. It's either 256 or 512.
•My worst NSW2 purchase was that piranha plant camera (even worse than welcome tour!).
•My Digital vs Physical collection at 8/8 is skewed, as i have some physical and digital, so I'm hardly a "standard user".

I only own two S2 games, MarioKart and MIO, and MIO is still in the plastic wrap as slowly going through my backlog so cant really say what is my worst purchase.

@antdickens, at question 58: I buy my games digital because I commute/travel a lot and don't want to have to pick which I bring and/or risk losing some when out. The options listed are all "negative" for digital even though I by far prefer buying digital over physical.
