Re: Feature: Time to Vote for Your Nintendo Life Game of the Year Awards 2015

WireWare

XCX for me. It's everything I expected and even more.
My runner up would be either Super Mario Maker or Splatoon.
I love Splatoon, but playing it excessively has burned me out a little.
SMM is great game, and the fact they plan to update it again keeps me interested. It's the kind of game that I pick up once in a while to pass time and gets the work done.
Overall, 2015 wasn't as good of a year Nintendo wise, comparatively to the last two years, but what it proposed was still decent, I believe.
And to be honest, the indies really filled the blanks in my book

Re: Microsoft's Phil Spencer "Would Be Happy" To See Nintendo Games On Xbox One

WireWare

I've never really been a fan of Xbox as a whole. For my gaming needs, I usually stick to PC and Nintendo (and my friend's PS4 ), but as much as I dislike Xbox, I can't dislike Phil. He looks so genuine and nice, like a Western Miyamoto or Aonuma or [insert lovable Japanese developer here].
Concerning seeing Nintendo games on Xbox, I do hope that he meant "Nintendo developed" and not "Nintendo franchises". Because, for the latter... just no.

Re: Review: Xenoblade Chronicles X (Wii U)

I though I would have finished the first Xenoblade in time, but I GREATLY underestimated it's length... Either way, I was going to buy it anyway and I am glad that it got such a high mark!

Re: You Can't Alter The Chest Size Of Female Characters In The Western Version Of Xenoblade Chronicles X

@ikki5 Well, that's what I implied. Unless we have different interpretations, because in all my anatomy classes, most of the functions of the breasts are or destined for sexual intent. And, by "sexual intent", I include the act and its outcome (babies). But I digress. Whether or not an aspect is sexual or not (outside of the biological realm) is decided by the individual and society.

@ikki5
Well, it surprises me given the fact that it's a Nintendo game and that customisation isn't the most fleshed out aspect off their games (Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem).
And personally, I view breasts as a sexual feature because, biologically, they are. And the way they have been depicted in Western culture (not only in the US) always emphasized that in my eyes.

@ ikki5

I understand the logic behind your point, but yet again, it isn't the first time that Nintendo censored anything. Also, that may be the cause of different cultures, but personally, I always pictured breast as a sexual attribute. When I first saw gameplay of the Japanese version, I was surprised to see the existence of such slider. If they had included another applicable feature to the male avatar (like in Saints Row), I wouldn't see any problem with it.
In addition to that, people have been mentioning how they couldn't depict themselves correctly. However, I don't think that with the particular artstyle (those eyes follow me in my nightmares, not even kidding) of the game, you would be able to depict yourself in any way. But yet again, while I can understand why this would bother people, I can't really put myself in their shoes. To each their own I guess.
Thank you for you input however. I'm glad that among the many people who have pretty..."brutal" (for lack of a better word) arguments, you were able to display something straightforward.
(In case it isn't visible, I really don't want this to escalate into a heated debate )

I'm honestly surprised about the reactions here and in the Youtube comments.
This change is such a minor thing that doesn't affect the gameplay in any way whatsoever. Yes, you might use the argument "If it's so minor, why remove it?". Remember we're dealing with a company known for being family friendly (with a few exceptions). In addition to that, does that change really affect the way you see the game? Heck, I've read in the Youtube comments that some people either cancelled or refused to buy the game, because they, and I quote : "Refuse to promote censorship".
I personally am an enormous fan of the original Xenoblade and I intend to buy this new iteration as soon as possible.
I agree that the breast slider wouldn't have any impact on the game, but yet again the lack of it wouldn't either.
Now, I'm not trying to defend this change, but please, answer me this:
Will this change ultimately will alter the experience you would get of the game, despite all it has to offer?

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks Are Available Now on the Wii U eShop in Europe

WireWare

I'll probably get Spirit Tracks. The friendship between Link and Zelda always made me love the game.
Funny story, while I was still getting over my initial reaction of the whole direct, my Wii U gamepad alerted me that the games were available.
While it certainly wasn't the best direct for many (myself included for some parts), overall, it was nice with the few little extras.

Re: Feature: What We Expect from Nintendo Direct - 12th November

WireWare

I know that I will be pleased regardless of what they have to showcase. I'm just happy to have any updates.
HOWEVER, I'm preparing a substantial amount of popcorn, awaiting the waves after waves of disappointed individuals who either expected a specific thing that won't be showcased (Zelda U, even though I hope not) or the ones that expect the impossible. Of course, I've made enough to share and you're all welcome to have some.
Be hyped in moderation, folks!

Re: Super Smash Bros. Fan Provides a Suprisingly Detailed 20 Point Plan to Improve the Wii U Version

WireWare

I admire the effort he has put in this work, really. I'm not into the competitive part of Smash at all, but the details he displayed are very well thought of. However, as said in the article, it's too late for any of these changes to be implemented for many reasons. And again, his work was more about the more technical side of the game, talking very little about anything else.
I don't know if he has any experience as a developer (as in the time and resources required to develop or modify a game), since what he is proposing is very ambitious, but I'll still give him credit, even though I was convinced that it was an elaborate joke at first.
