Loving the support Inti is giving their games on Switch between this & the upcoming DLC for Gunvolt Burst it'll keep me coming back for more. The game is available physically in Europe it's currently for sale on GAME & Amazon's websites btw for those struggling to find it.
If the NES Classic was meant as a "holiday item" they didn't communicate that well at all! As far as consumers were concerned it was another product on offer that no-one could get their hands on unless they pre-ordered very early on. Ninty should really learn to keep re-stocking items, the NES Classic, Amiibos & the Switch have all had shortages leaving money on the table when they could be making even more money out of these products.
@ThatNyteDaez Haha honestly that was the 1st thing that came to mind & hey it makes sense he also went after women although i don't think Glenn has ever tried taking over the world just yet.
It's probably fake at this stage, there's a very slim chance it could be an early prototype... The idea is sort of cool but if this is the final design i'm a little worried. First off no (or maybe one) face buttons, sorry but i know many console gamers will not want to go down the route of what mobile gaming has done & have virtual buttons & secondly third party developers are going to have the same problems they had with the WiiU where they would have to make a separate version of their titles just for NX which as we've seen just ends up with devs skipping on releasing their games for the system. I'm hoping that this is just a controller option with another traditional controller available or that this is just the rumored "handheld" portion of the console, i just forsee having this as the only controller option being a bad thing for Ninty... Guess we'll have to wait till E3 to see the result..
I find it funny that there's all this "controversy" that Bayonetta was only in the top 5 characters in the ballot in the U.S. even if she was number 5 if you added all the votes for her worldwide she would probably have still won it in that case. Honestly i wouldn't be surprised if the other 4 were characters such as Goku or Shrek either that or they were characters like Banjo or Konami reps like Snake or Simon Belmont where an agreement couldn't be made or couldn't be made at short notice. Main thing i find interesting is that we never saw the results for Japan! Either way i'm more than happy with Bayonetta & although Corrin is another FE character his/her moveset looks unique + with Fates releasing around the same time it may help convince people to check out fates after playing as them.
Many levels of WANT for this game, I really hope it comes Westwards, would seem silly not to if they've gone to the trouble of manufacturing a new Amiibo for it! Also the amount of cool moves that Chibi Robo was showing off could maybe translate into a Smash moveset? Would be cool to see at the very least!
Looking forward to this game more & more after playing the Test Fire I've been going through withdrawal symptoms! Speaking of Splatoon merchandise Japan are getting these Splatoon Squid Plushies as well, they were up for pre-order on Amiami until yesterday but they may come into stock again at some point! Green: & orange:
I've been pretty lucky with these so far here in England, my advice is pre-order the ones you want that way you won't be disappointed, I pre-ordered Rosalina from a local retailer literally 2 days before release & got one no problem, same for the entirety of Wave 2 (Cpt Falcon, Little Mac, Pit etc) although it does seem the craze is getting worse recently, a lot of forums have had people from the States etc snapping up all the pre-orders from Wave 4 as soon as they've gone live at places like Game, Shopto etc in some cases within 15-20mins of them going live... luckily I've managed to get my name down for all Wave 4 but even Nintendo's own UK store only have pre-orders for Wario & Charizard left from Wave 4 ...
Needs to be powerful enough so that 3rd parties can simply release their games on without having to make specific versions for the hardware & have that "Nintendo magic" to it with innovation & great 1st party titles ... If they can nail that Ninty might be looking at the NES/SNES days again cos they'll have it all.
If the Amiibo only worked with one game I could understand the complaints about them but the Amiibo can be used across multiple titles & (at present) you only have to buy them once rather than buy a different figure for each new game + you get a nice collectable to boot! If the Pokémon cards & Kid Icarus AR cards are anything to go by some figures may just increase in price down the line too.
As for me I'm going to try to get the Smash lineup at least if I can, but Mega Man & Samus will be my Smash mains for sure.
As my profile pic would suggest I'd love to see some Mega Man Battle & Chase DLC even if it was only available with Mega Man's Amiibo:
Mega Man's companion Rush has a Submarine, Jet & Car mode (in Mega Man 8 he also has a Bike form) + in the cartoon back in the 90's he had a glider form too
Funny thing getting older, the movie & gaming industry try to cater for your nostalgia a lot more, growing up I had Turtles, Transformers & Ghostbusters toys, I played tonnes of games back then too... But now that we are older, have jobs & more money companies try to tap into that nostalgia factor hence Transformers, Turtles & the plethora of comic book movies, tonnes of 80's & 90's references in shows like Family Guy & Simpsons as well as gaming bringing back old franchises or re-releasing classic games on Virtual Console/PSN/XBLA etc. I'm pushing 30 & as others have mentioned I don't have as much time to play nowadays but helping my young nephew discover classic games has been a joy & he's been enjoying playing Sonic, Mario , Mega Man even Castlevania with me & even getting his friends to try them out too! Gives me a bit of hope for the future! Also did anyone else read Iwata's quote in his voice or is it just me?
I think they would be daft not to do DLC for Smash to be honest, it would keep the game alive way after release & who doesn't want more stages & characters?
Yes great news the return of K.Rool! Finally be able to have the majority of DK games on one system... I just hope they can bring DK64 out if/when N64 games start getting supported!
Makes sense to be in November, just look at the official Nintendo store page... the Amiibo's were originally being shown as being released in November when you clicked on the "more details" tab on a character, which was then changed a few days later to just say "winter"
And with the roster completed, the complaining starts...
I don't know how anyone can be unhappy with this lineup to be honest, pretty much 60+ characters if you count alternates like female Robin, Alph etc, regardless of who got put in someone was going to be unhappy, we may get DLC yet to get some more characters that people want. I would like to see some of the old characters return for DLC but I'm keeping my expectations in check for now & I'm happy with what we are getting!
I'd also be interested to know if Amiibo wise would Nintendo be doing separate figures for alternate characters like Bowser Jr/Koopalings??
Fantastic roster so far along with assists like Pong & Galaga this game is like a who's who of retro gaming! The stranger thing is that Nintendo mentioned they'd be doing Amiibo's of all these characters soo..... Duck Hunt figurine hell yes!
It is a bit gutting that characters like the Ice Climbers, Wolf & Snake are out but again there's still hope for DLC further down the line, the only other real disappointment is that the ESRB leak turned out to be true, would have preferred if that hadn't happened in a way then most of these would have been a pleasant surprise..
I'm seriously looking forward to this game now, it's even overshadowed my hype for Hyrule Warriors & Bayonetta at this point.
@GamerZack7 Mega Man V is the best one in terms of Gameboy games, the previous 4 entries use recycled bosses from the NES games whereas V is entirely new! It also has more story, a new type of Mega Buster main weapon, a new helper in the form of Tango the cat & the final boss is quite a surprise too...
@daniruy The SNES version of Mega Man & Bass was only released in Japan back in 1998! There have been people online who translated the game & released it as a ROM but the only official English release was on GBA in 2003 ...
What's to discuss about a Euro release? YES should be the answer!! After seeing this in action I'm looking forward to it, just hope it makes it over here..
@WillMelnyk This is why you'd ideally need a collection disc, having ALL Mega Man games on one console would be nice but games like Mega Man Battle & Chase, Power Battle, Power Fighters, Wily Wars, X7, X8, Network Transmission, X Command Mission, Legends, Legends 2, Tron Bonne & Powered Up are all on different consoles which would mean a heck of a lot of work to port them all just for e-shop...... & that's not even including Japan only releases like Super Adventure, Rock Board, or Mega Man & Bass Challenger from the future etc
Funnily enough Mega Man & Bass is the only game they haven't confirmed as of yet, although I'd be tempted to ask for the Super Famicom version since that one didn't have screen crunch like the GBA port did! I'm looking forward to getting 7 on the e-shop though, the anniversary collection port of that game is terrible & cut out the ending sequence....
@Volmun Actually Inafune (the co-creator of Mega Man & the guy who started the Legends 3 project) left Capcom before any Mega Man games got cancelled... He announced he was leaving in October 2010 & left in November 2010 ... Mega Man Universe which had an odd art style that fans weren't too sure on was announced as cancelled March 31st 2011, then the Legends 3 project was cancelled on July 18th 2011, it was also later revealed that Capcom were working with Retro Studios to make a new Mega Man FPS spinoff called Maverick Hunter, fans didn't know about this project until long after It had been cancelled (apparently canned in late 2010), reasons for it's cancellation was that many fans had joked about how awful an FPS Mega Man game would be & that it wouldn't fit the series & finally there was Rockman Online, which was originally never going to be released outside of Japan & Korea & cancelled in November 2012..... Japan still got that crappy Rockman XOver mobile game in 2012 & we got an officially licensed fan game to download for free in the form of Street Fighter X Mega Man in December 2012 & then of course Mega Man was revealed for Smash at E3 2013.... So 4 cancelled games which aside from Legends 3 fans weren't that bothered about until they were cancelled there hasn't been that much of a gap between games featuring Mega Man as people would have you believe, sure I'm annoyed that the games got cancelled but it doesn't mean they won't do another EVER.. As others in this thread have mentioned I'd prefer either Capcom work with Nintendo kinda like the whole Bayonetta deal or purchase the Mega Man IP since it does fit with Nintendo's portfolio very well... My only concern with Nintendo having this franchise would be that it could equally not get many games with Ninty at the helm ... see F-Zero, Mother, Mach Rider & Mysterious Murasame Castle ...
As much as Capcom has been messing everything up these past few years I don't think it's faith in the Mega Man series that's the problem, we still get plenty of merchandise, VC releases & cameos (when was the last time we saw Captain Commando or anything from Onimusha?) I think the problem Capcom has is that 1) Most of the teams that made the Mega Man games have left & 2) Them not being sure on which direction to take the series, problem they have now is that if they were to announce a new game some part of the fanbase would still be annoyed, some people want another 8-bit game, some say the classic series should be reinvented with better graphics, some want Mega Man X9, some want a new Battle Network/Starforce/Zero/ZX title, some want a brand new spinoff series & some won't be happy until Legends 3 happens.... so it is kinda tough but the series isn't as dead as the internet would have you believe, the series has had it's breaks before & this is just another one.... Personally I'd love for them to team up with Nintendo to deliver another classic entry in 2.5D using the Smash Bros model... but who knows, we just have to wait & see & at least the re-releases keep us occupied until something happens!
I'm probably wrong but there have been a few videos now from Nintendo featuring Mega Man to make me think there's something going on behind the scenes between them two that we don't know about, releasing more Mega Man titles on virtual console now is a wise move before Smash hits later this year... Hopefully afterwards the series can gain more fans if only because of people's curiosity about where Mega Man came from & what his games are about.... Heck might even lead to a new game??? I live in hope, heck it worked for Kid Icarus & Fire Emblem....
Capcom confirmed Battle Network 1-3, Zero 1+2 as well as MM7 & MMX3 are definitely coming to e-shop http://www.capcom-unity.com/brelston/blog/2014/06/09/virtual-console-update-gba-titles-breath-of-fire-and-more they've not mentioned Mega Man & Bass (essentially Mega Man 8.5) nor Zero 3 or 4 or the rest of the Battle Network series yet.... Wouldn't be surprised if they ported the ZX & Starforce games once the DS stuff takes off as those games didn't really set the world alight with regards sales so Capcom might see this as a 2nd chance for those 2 series'
YEEEEESSS! This is the 1st time Mega Man 6 has been legitimately available on a home console in Europe & finally being able to play Battle Network on the TV without having to fork out the prices the carts go for nowadays.... Thursday cannot get here soon enough!
Bet no-one can guess who I picked..... I may be crazy but if these Amiibo's are usable in other games i'll be ordering me a Mega Man one the moment it's released! I'm also interested to see how Robin & Pac Man will play too.. Also I'd still like to see Shulk in there, loved the Xeno series since way back to Xenogears on the PS1 & would love to see someone from that series represented in Smash.
Can only really echo (or is that ecco ) what others have already said, I think Sega's missing a big opportunity not bringing their games out on the VC.. Having a selection from Sega's full back catalogue would be amazing, moreso if they included the Sega CD (Sonic CD & Snatcher anyone?) as well as Saturn & Dreamcast especially since games on those systems have been going up in value to ridiculous levels for some titles recently... It would also make the wait for N64 & the possibility of Gamecube titles more bearable too.... Also to go off on a tangent what happened to the Neo Geo & PC Engine/Turbografx stuff? ... I know Japan has the PC Engine on VC already...
Nice Pop'n Twinbee! Konami seem to be on a roll recently with these VC releases just hope we get Castlevania 3 soon & I'm still hoping for a port of Sparkster in the not too distant future!
I still think the main reason Nintendo succeeded this E3 was because of 2 things: 1- New games, the games that were announced like Captain Toad, Splatoon, Kirby & even the remastered Bayonetta inclusion hadn't been leaked beforehand on websites & so were genuinely a surprise & 2- Gameplay! So many trailers at E3 were pre-rendered CG, there were exceptions of course but having things like the Treehouse Live actually playing these games made all the difference! With regards the new IPs I think they all show huge potential, the project Robot & Guard demos were really early in development so should hopefully get even better over time, as for Splatoon, again it was early gameplay & I remember reading somewhere that there will be a single player campaign so at least it does have a few demographics in mind rather than just being a multiplayer game with a limited audience, although even if Splatoon doesn't have a deep story we still have Bayonetta, Xenoblade, Zelda etc to make up for that... I personally am looking forward to Splatoon, I think it has potential to be the next big IP for Nintendo (if they add a decent story to it even better) but with the shooter genre being as popular as it is right now I think this is something Ninty needed to make, either way plenty of good games coming & lets be honest the real winners are us gamers because of it!
Sounds like Reggie kinda sidestepped the question to be honest, yes expectations were high with the gamecube adapter announced but N64 support was "coming soon" at launch let alone years after.. that & Nintendo keep hinting at Gamecube support but we've still not had any concrete info on it.
Personally I'd like to see the Sega, NeoGeo & Turbografx stuff return as well, heck Japan have PC Engine support in place already. Having these setup on the WiiU over here would mean we could get more VC titles instead of the small trickle we are getting right now...
Although he wasn't technically a SEGA mascot he appeared on other systems & that was Sparkster from Rocket Knight, Konami tried recently to resurrect the franchise on PS3 & X360 as a digital title but I'd love to see the original Mega Drive & SNES titles on the VC at some point.
Didn't Sumo (the guys behind Sonic All Stars Racing) tease something to do with Sonic & Mario a while back? Maybe DLC for MK9? But either way I think the roster could expand to other Nintendo franchises, heck guest characters like Sonic or Mega Man could work very well since both have had their own kart games in the past (Sonic All Stars & Mega Man Battle & Chase respectively) characters such as Samus & Link would be difficult to pull off without looking really odd....
Klonoa is great, i'll certainly be picking that up, just a shame the character doesn't get more games! Also Capcom need to get their ass into gear yet another week we don't see any signs of the GB Mega Man games coming over here!
I always worry about spending stars since we never know what's going to be added to the store later which could be better, I missed out on the Luigi's Mansion statue & now they are going for silly money on Ebay & the like! Hopefully i'll have some time to build up stars again between now & the next decent item....
Who needs friends? I sure don't to enjoy GBA VC titles & I'm glad we're finally getting them in the 1st place along with at least more than 1 title most weeks too... although I'd like to think they would continue this trend going forward I'm somehow doubting it ... but still it's a start! Looking forward to playing through Metroid Fusion again & roll on Mega Man & Bass Mega Man Zero series & titles like Zelda Minish Cap & Metroid Zero Mission
Have YOU read your comment? Read it again & you'll see how one might come to the conclusion that you were insinuating that objectification & stereotyping don't happen in real life....
That being said from your latest comment (cheers for replying btw) given that both games are actually out that include the things you mentioned (whale killing & sexual objectification) not all players are objectifying women when they play SKB, but IF they were would it not be better they are doing so with a character that doesn't exist in a video game & not a real person? The game itself isn't serious + most people who play it find it funny (in my experience) due to the sheer ludicrous nature of it & aren't suddenly going to go out into the real world & start objectifying women. In the same way people who kill a virtual whale or even another person in a game won't then go out & think "well I did this in a game so it must be ok" you'd have to be mental to think that way & have bigger problems in your life if you do!

Re: Video: Nintendo Minute Heads to Capcom For Release Dates, Comic-Con Swag and a Mega Man Masterclass
Re: Video: Nintendo Minute Heads to Capcom For Release Dates, Comic-Con Swag and a Mega Man Masterclass
Re: Nintendo Download: 24th July (Europe)
Re: Nintendo Download: 24th July (Europe)
YEEEEESSS! This is the 1st time Mega Man 6 has been legitimately available on a home console in Europe & finally being able to play Battle Network on the TV without having to fork out the prices the carts go for nowadays.... Thursday cannot get here soon enough!
Re: Poll: Which is Your Favourite Super Smash Bros. Challenger So Far?
Bet no-one can guess who I picked..... I may be crazy but if these Amiibo's are usable in other games i'll be ordering me a Mega Man one the moment it's released! I'm also interested to see how Robin & Pac Man will play too.. Also I'd still like to see Shulk in there, loved the Xeno series since way back to Xenogears on the PS1 & would love to see someone from that series represented in Smash.
Re: Sega Still Considering Its Options For The Wii U Virtual Console
Re: Nintendo Download: 10th July (Europe)
Nice Pop'n Twinbee! Konami seem to be on a roll recently with these VC releases just hope we get Castlevania 3 soon & I'm still hoping for a port of Sparkster in the not too distant future!
Re: Talking Point: Keeping It Simple Helped Nintendo Triumph At E3
Re: Don't Worry, Nintendo Hasn't Forgotten About The Virtual Console
Sounds like Reggie kinda sidestepped the question to be honest, yes expectations were high with the gamecube adapter announced but N64 support was "coming soon" at launch let alone years after.. that & Nintendo keep hinting at Gamecube support but we've still not had any concrete info on it.
Personally I'd like to see the Sega, NeoGeo & Turbografx stuff return as well, heck Japan have PC Engine support in place already. Having these setup on the WiiU over here would mean we could get more VC titles instead of the small trickle we are getting right now...
Re: Video: Prepare To Pour One Out For Sega's Fallen Child Stars
Although he wasn't technically a SEGA mascot he appeared on other systems & that was Sparkster from Rocket Knight, Konami tried recently to resurrect the franchise on PS3 & X360 as a digital title but I'd love to see the original Mega Drive & SNES titles on the VC at some point.
Re: Mario Kart Month: Expanding the Universe of Mario Kart
Didn't Sumo (the guys behind Sonic All Stars Racing) tease something to do with Sonic & Mario a while back? Maybe DLC for MK9? But either way I think the roster could expand to other Nintendo franchises, heck guest characters like Sonic or Mega Man could work very well since both have had their own kart games in the past (Sonic All Stars & Mega Man Battle & Chase respectively) characters such as Samus & Link would be difficult to pull off without looking really odd....
Re: Nintendo Download: 22nd May (Europe)
Klonoa is great, i'll certainly be picking that up, just a shame the character doesn't get more games! Also Capcom need to get their ass into gear yet another week we don't see any signs of the GB Mega Man games coming over here!
Re: Nintendo Download: 8th May (Europe)
No Mega Man for us yet? how depressing .... hopefully those 5 VC titles will be heading over here sooner rather than later..
Re: Super Mario 3D World Double Disc Soundtrack Arrives on Club Nintendo
Mine's on it's way
I always worry about spending stars since we never know what's going to be added to the store later which could be better, I missed out on the Luigi's Mansion statue & now they are going for silly money on Ebay & the like! Hopefully i'll have some time to build up stars again between now & the next decent item....
Re: Game Boy Advance Games On The Wii U Virtual Console Are Single Player Only
Who needs friends? I sure don't to enjoy GBA VC titles & I'm glad we're finally getting them in the 1st place along with at least more than 1 title most weeks too... although I'd like to think they would continue this trend going forward I'm somehow doubting it ... but still it's a start! Looking forward to playing through Metroid Fusion again & roll on Mega Man & Bass Mega Man Zero series & titles like Zelda Minish Cap & Metroid Zero Mission
Re: Soapbox: Ignoring The Objectification Of Women In Games Won't Make the Problem Go Away
@blodermoder
