"someone has clearly made a bit of a boo-boo here" Unlikely, it's pretty hard to make this sort of mistake with such a simple edit - drag out selection, fill with black.
The transparency was probably a deliberate choice to show nipples and gain some attention.
"an intentionally empty vessel for the player to inhabit"
Source please. I'm sick of seeing this parroted in game articles. My research indicates that Link was never created as an empty vessel and I don't think Nintendo has ever called him that.
I'm confused. The eshop still isn't listed as a participating store front, is the IARC actually something developers can use to get ratings for their games right now or just a nice idea that only two store fronts are actually supporting?
"Perhaps in future Nintendo could sanction online Game Jams to actually encourage coders to improve their skills by playing around with its retro classics in Unity, for example, with the reward being a spot as an authorised developer for the eShop."
I'm not sure exactly how this would benefit Nintendo though.
Yeah. This thing needs the contrast dialed up a tonne. Some of it almost melts in together for me. and I can hardly make out some of the text on the logos. Unless it's supposed to look like somebody scrubbed off bits of it.
I'd still like to know where Blake Harris got this information. One guy comes up with a never before seen document and we're supposed to believe it couldn't possibly be faked? Does he mention the source of this information in his book?
Should you really be supporting this by linking to a demo? None of that artwork belongs to the people who created this, they're ripped sprites. Blatant copyright infringement.
@gage_wolf
Right from the source: Hyrule Historia.
It's in the introduction "each time when the world is blanketed in evil, a young boy and girl will be born"
@gage_wolf
Except if we take that argument further you just prove Link has a set gender since Miyamoto states that a Boy and a girl will be reborn and if Zelda is the girl the boy must be Link.
@JSaario You're strange. You said not too long ago that Link has always been just the persona of the player in order to justify changing his gender and now you decide the past is irrelevant because you were wrong?
@JSaario We've been through this already in the forums. How about you provide some evidence for the assertion that "Since Link's creation he was intended to be the persona of the player not the main character" because there are interviews that contradict this view. Please read the Iwata asks interview with Shigeru Miyamoto about the ocarina of time remake where you will find Miyamoto speaking about Link as a character.
1. Go to 0.26 in the video and take a snapshot of the tools on the table 2. open your favourite photo editing software and flip the image vertically 3. visit the blacksmith in Minish cap
they LITERALLY traced the same tools and flipped them! If you can't accuse these people of ripping artwork you can certainly accuse them of being damn lazy! They can't even make original artwork for the tools sitting on a table!
Next Aonuma will announce a large roster of hylian knights (each with an amiibo) for players to hire as companions or play as with friends. Each Knight will specialise in one of the series' trademark items and the player will be able to switch between control of Link and the hired companion in solo play.
@damainman69 It's a little disappointing to hear that you won't be using construct 2 to make the Wii U version anymore. Do you think it's still worth it for people interested in developing Wii U games to pursue using construct 2 or are the reasons that you've changed to unity significant enough that you don't think making games for Wii U is possible with the program?
Capacitive screens are rubbish. I don't know how anybody could think they're superior to a resistive screen. I wish my phone had a resistive screen then I'd be able to use a stylus on it. I hope Nintendo never make their handhelds use a capacitive screen.
@Mrclaycoat Makes perfect sense to me. They want to avoid any kind of trouble releasing the game on the eshop may cause.
In answer to Tyrone Rodriguez's question I would gladly raise my hand. These grotesque and strange games aren't for me and even if it was on the eshop I would never buy it.
As much as I'd like more awesome games in australia the ESRB Just sounds like a label printing service. Have there been any notable games that needed to have their ratings updated recently?
Meh. The whole first person perspective thing just doesn't do it for me.
Also, why in the world didn't they do something with the trees? They could easily have used two textured planes. It wouldn't have looked great but it would have been better than blocks.

Isn't the the OoT and ALTTP master sword design the same?
Re: Australia’s Classification Laws Have Prevented An Immediate Local Release Of The Nindies@Home Promotion
Would this be a problem if the Nintendo eshop was a participating storefront with the International Age Rating Coalition?
Re: Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3 Details and Official Website Enter Battle
Something is bothering me about this game, It's been classified in Australia but only for the Playstation Vita not as a multiplatform game...

Except in Australia where only the GBC game is available on the eshop.

Meh, it's just traced artwork from the manga cobbled into animation.
Nothing worth supporting with money.
This is what animated Link should look like:

This might be where you heard it: https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2014/04/new_version_of_petit_computer_will_allow_for_snes_or_playstation_standard_games_on_3ds
It says it's only 2d, which is a pity because it would be cool to be able to make lowpoly 3d games.

Re: SmileBASIC Will Bring Petit Computer Game Development to 3DS Next Year
Ah, it's too bad this most likely won't be able to use 3d models in games.
Re: Weirdness: Modder Recreates Donkey Kong Country In Doom Engine
@SilentHunter382 Copyright infringement isn't based off whether the person is earning money or not.

I'm not seeing your point. It's still copyright infringement.

Re: Poll: Which Is The Best Legend Of Zelda Game?
@CanisWolfred So people should vote for another game because the one they actually like the best gets too much love? or because you don't like it?
I actually hold the opposite view, of the 3d games I don't feel that other entries have done things quite as well as Oot did.
