@Gamesake My point is that the violence doesn't add anything to the game except glorifying brutality. I'd certainly like to know how displays of gratuitous violence by the Hero can have anything to do with fighting for a cause.
"Currently Matt and Austin Ivansmith, the director of Mighty Switch Force: Hyper Drive Edition, are monitoring Miiverse for feedback on a “daily” basis"
So then It's safe to assume they're deliberately avoiding the questions made by Australians regarding "when" Mighty Switch Force HD will be released here?
Ugh. No Mighty Switch Force for Australia and users on miiverse are already talking about exploiting the region changing loophole to download the game from the UK eshop.
This smells an awful lot like Shantae: Risky's Revenge all over again. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't bother to have an AU release at all...
@Xilef Actually it's a common misconception that money has anything to do with whether fan works are copyright infringing or not. This IS an infringement of copyright, the question is whether Konami cares or not. I think similar statements to the one at the start are used to defend fanart but this isn't some picture on an artist's website this is a whole video series. It will be interesting to see if the creators of Castlevania take notice or not. They could praise it for all I know.
Of course it wouldn't have been there for so long if they had a contact form. Who's gonna write a letter or phone nintendo just to tell them they got the info on their site wrong? Not me.
Linkstrikesback is right the GBA advance info has been there for a long time and if you look closely while we currently have Dr Mario on game boy you can't find it anywhere on the Australian site. I think this is just a case of them not providing the people in charge of the website with the correct info.
@mrmachinery: "Also you can't say that the game is offensive as offense is taken not given and when a lot of people take offense from something it makes it controversial not offensive."
Not sure where you got that idea from because my dictionary literally has entries for both "give offense" and "take offense". I think the word offensive is well within its correct usage here too.
I'm actually liking this game so far. It isn't brilliant but It also isn't as bad as that horrible Planetcrashers game ~ shudders ~.
The one life thing is brutal though, I still haven't gotten past the first stage.
This is one of the few games where I actually wish I could get my money back. Haven't played much of it so far but it seems to be kinda like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon... without the mystery.
On the first planet you have to reach level 5 before you can move to the next. Leveling up and gettig skills means taking quests Pokemon Mystery Dungeon style however the dungeons don't change like in a roguelike. each quest requires you to drag your player's sorry derriere through the same scenery not to mention that sometimes the game decides you will get magically teleported back to the person who made the request and other times it tells you you have to walk back.
It's boring.
I spent 2 hours trying to reach level 5 on the first planet and when I got to the second planet it looked like more of the same so I gave up. I probably won't play the game again. It will be interesting to see what the review is like.
I don't see what would be so bad about a bigger 3DS. I liked the DSi XL and hardly ever picked up my DS lite after buying one.
I hope they do eventually have a 3DS with a bigger screen, that or make something equivalent to the "super gameboy" so I can play my VC games on a TV screen. I guess the latter is pretty unlikely though.
@Sakura_Moonlight2421 :Actually pet hate is perfectly legitimate google it if you don't believe me.
Nintendolife can do whatever they like but the question is whether they should. Contrary to what your feelings on the matter are I believe it IS the duty of readers to question the decisions of staff because they aren't infallible and sometimes they make mistakes.
@theblackdragon: So what you're saying is that Nintendolife should overlook the fact that what they're promoting in this article is copyright infringing because nobody is going to get jail time over it?
There are a LOT of misconceptions out there about copyright and fan-games, fan-art etc.Including the one you just mentioned about depending on whether the creator of a fan-game is making a profit. But whatever. I've tried to inform people before and it's usually about as useful as beating my head against a brick wall. I'll leave it at that.
Australia didn't get the DOA demo either and it was just reclassified here not banned. I wonder if we're going to miss out on the demo entirely too or if it will become available at a later date.
I think this was the best response from the people in charge. Knowing that inappropriate behaviour could cost them the victory makes players more likely to conduct themselves in an acceptable manner in future.
@KeeperBvK: No need to get exasperated. Perhaps my reply was a little harsh, but the kind of censorship your'e talking about has been going on for years and it isn't about to go anywhere. There's not a book, website or store that won't be selective about it's content. I assure you there are articles that would not appear on Nintendo life and whether this is a good or a bad thing is really a matter of perspective.
There are times when I wish some things weren't censored myself but you cannot expect businesses to allow content just because it's something you want. It is Nintendo's prerogative to decide what is and isn't on their eshop and in the case of The Binding of Isaac they decided that it wasn't appropriate.
The next feature should be "Nintendo's Greatest Successes". It wouldn't be fair to examine Nintendo's blunders in depth without looking at their triumphs as well.
This "We’ve had a review sample for a few days now and have been thoroughly putting it through its paces" makes this "We don’t condone piracy at Nintendo Life" absolutely meaningless.
Sheesh, don't get your knickers in a bunch. I did know that back when I was playing Ocarina of Time, but it didn't spoil anything for me. To be honest I hadn't even thought about my comment spoiling the story. Sorry.
@Bass_X0: Just looked up the the Japanese version and US version on youtube... Wow. They changed more than the cutscenes it looks like complete enemies were removed and enemy sprites changed significantly. It has been seriously de-japanified, except for the protagonist who remains a ninja.
No release date for Australia... Hmm, I hope that's not a bad sign. I'm quite interested in this game and it would be dissapointing if it was another one of those games that we just don't get.

excessively violent videogames glorify horrific acts of brutality not fighting for a cause.

Looks like Link and Prof. Layton are discussing the Zelda timeline in Hyrule Historia. Layton must have brought up the "Hero is defeated" branch.
