Re: Soapbox: No, Star Fox Zero's Controls Are not Bad or Broken

ULTRA-64

@DefHalan makes sense I guess from what I've seen. I'm not keen on full modes sold as dlc but I'd take it with this in the same way I'd still like a mk8 battle mode adding. Not like that going to happen!
I'm not fussed by online but local vs is a major highlight from sf64 for me personally.

Re: Soapbox: No, Star Fox Zero's Controls Are not Bad or Broken

ULTRA-64

Can't watch the video right now but I'm not too worried about the controls TBH. It'll be a new angle on the game I might really like and the Co op options sound great. Has the final nail been put in other multi-player options yet? I've not heard anything about online or vs modes for ages now so I'm assuming yes....

Re: Feature: The Nintendo Easter Egg Hunt - Greatest Hits

ULTRA-64

There really are so many examples of Nintendo overlapping gaming universe and characters. It's one of my favourite things about their style. There is a fan-service mentally to their game construction that is a joy to discover. It's rare I play a 1at party title without finding something that references another game or character and I love it.
And yeah, a fan made room in Zelda seems too good to believe. Can you imagine how much people would pay to have that now!?!

Re: Nintendo Hardware Sales Climb in Japan Despite Limited New Releases

ULTRA-64

@rjejr my pitiful allowance is my own fault for being a bit tight mostly! I work for a mobile phone company so I get my phone/mobile internet for free, which is nice. But, It leaves me really unwilling to pay for a service from a propper provider. I'm good for updates, e shop games and general browsing but streaming, online gaming and massive downloads are a luxury. As it stands, my Wii u is 90% fine for this but I got a PS3 for Xmas and I'm amazed by how internet demanding it is!! I'm new to non Nintendo consoles and it's suddenly exposing my shoddy allowance!
So yeah, back to the article. I'd be surprised if it took one generation for Nintendo to go from bairly online to internet dependant to play. I'm actually a big fan of the cartridge ideas like others have said, keeps in line with the retro image but would it affect ports in any way?

Re: Nintendo Hardware Sales Climb in Japan Despite Limited New Releases

ULTRA-64

@rjejr great point! Doesn't help that Nintendo are ultra shy about revealing download sales overall so it would be really hard to compile a complete list of sales.
I really do hope that they wouldn't make nx dl only at this point.... some might not care but my internet is awful and I only get 15gb a month so I'd have major problems

Re: Video: Here's What A DJ Battle On Game Boys Looks (And Sounds) Like

ULTRA-64

@GameFace cool stuff, cheers for the response. Just managed to blow my work mates minds with that video. Not sure they knew you could make a room dance with a game boy!
Side note, any tips on where to find parts and mods for game boys as I'm building a couple and lots of the sites I use are out of stock. Especially back light kits for game boy advance and shells for game boy pocket?

Re: Talking Point: The Latest Nintendo Direct Showed a Renewed - Albeit Temporary - Focus on the Current Generation

ULTRA-64

"The Latest Nintendo Direct Showed a Renewed - Albeit Temporary - Focus on the Current Generation" this is potentially a very inaccurate headline imo.
For starters, all Nintendo (officially) have done is say they will make another piece of gaming dedicated hardware code named 'NX'. Any thoughts on what they are actually doing or 'focusing on' is pure speculation and rumors at this stage.
Furthermore, you can't call something temporary unless you know the point it starts or stops happening, which we don't at this point. For all we know, nx is a separate platform to run alongside current gen, to be released in 2018 and E3 will bring 10 new Wii u/ 3ds games!?!
Now I'm not daft enough to believe that example and NX IS looming but rumors are being passed around like facts allot at the moment and ungrounded speculation is treated like facts by the media.....
Rant over, all this nx stuff is getting to me I guess?

Re: Nintendo Wanted To Produce A Transforming amiibo For Star Fox Zero

ULTRA-64

@Maxz don't worry, I'm not some amiibo collecting maniac
I'm not really into the whole amiibo thing TBH, if there is nothing worthwhile to be unlocked I won't buy. And even at their best they're stretching the idea of value....
My point was the mismanagement of resources and decision making in general regarding amiibo. The features that were linked to the arwing are dumped into the fox amiibo and nobody loses but why bother to do all the work to make a movable model arwing then just scrap it!?! It will have cost money and time to get that far and they bundle an amiibo with everything so it's strange to do nothing new at all....

Re: Nintendo Wanted To Produce A Transforming amiibo For Star Fox Zero

ULTRA-64

Well that's a bit poor really.... Trust Nintendo to take a high profit item people are waiting to give you money for, shoe-horn in a gimmick that THEY want, and then cancel the whole damn thing because they couldn't make their idea safe in time to sell!!
Who makes these decisions, it's just terrible management overall!?!?!

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD (Wii U)

ULTRA-64

I really liked this on the Wii, controls and all! But I've never felt the need to return to Zelda games when I've fully beaten them. It's such a story based game and I spend allot of time on each game that I feel no pull to play them again. If any were really changed I might feel differently but I'd probably want to play wind wakerHD before this anyway if I did return to a Zelda!

Re: Ubisoft Discounts Galore in 2-Week North American eShop Sale

ULTRA-64

@AVahne I had a good time with ac4, it's the most fun of the assassins creed games imo due to the pirate theme. It ran fine for the most part for me. A few framerate issues on cut scenes and heavy action extremes but nothing that ruined the flow of the game. The game does that on all the versions I've seen on other consoles anyway! The game pad works really well as a map too which is nice

Re: Feature: Learning More About the Nindies Love You Wii U eShop Promotion

ULTRA-64

Great interview, I respect the guy allot. It only makes me like him more that he organized a bigger sale than Nintendo managed in 3-4 years in the space of 4-5 months!!!
The haters in this thread are maybe expecting a bit much from small studios if they expect every game to be about £1ish!! Show some respect people, we all love a good deal but quality has a price.

Re: Review: FreezeME (Wii U eShop)

ULTRA-64

@Spoony_Tech I fully agree with you. Who wants to see the conclusion before the details and particulars of a game? This is a game review not a Tarantino movie, can't believe you took flak for that!! 0_o

Re: Mario Kart Flashmob Surprises And Potentially Terrifies UK Shoppers

ULTRA-64

It's not a mall, it's a shopping centre!!!!
You're not an American site, they're not American people and the location is not in America......why use an American term for descriptions?? Seriously though, people watch too much American TV and get brainwashed in terms of the Americanisation of the English language!!! Rant over
Otherwise, great video/execution.......except 'wonky kong'!

Re: Review: Level 22 (Wii U eShop)

ULTRA-64

@Humphries90 where would I read you're reviews dude? I've seen you post here allot, just curious to see some of the write ups as you seem to offer a different view to average at times
