Those aren't the same portraits upscaled, have juvenile traits while originals have rough traits. Looks like if the original japanese artist got replaced by an european cartoonist. With all due respect to european cartoonists. Now give the same treatment to Fox McCloud, I bet that Starfox passionates wont be happy. It was a charismatic high value game for the time, this treatment is unjust. I still have my original PS1 copy, cover tells everything, how rough/adults, were some characters, like Victor and Flik, even with high definition art. I can't share a photo, but... Anyway all received this new juvenile useless cheap look.

Terrible character portraits. They really ruined them, now characters lost their charisma. Wont buy, Suikoden II deserved top art, not this cheap treatment.

I didn't liked it. Suikoden II is one of my favorite games of all times, but this new take left me flat. I didn't appreciate the whole design (world, art, etc.) and difficulty spikes, plus almost all characters are uninspiring. A meh game, unfortunately. Eventually most great artists from Suikoden II weren't involved in this.

Same goes for Mario 2D and Donkey Kong 2D that looks plasticky, starting from the Wii U's New Super Mario onward. Well, looks like Nintendo isn't 100% inspired all the time.

If you liked the first, you'll say "wow" at the second. It's in another league. 2 > 3 > 1.

It's just too costly and nobody knows about it. You can order it only on Valve webpage. Maybe with the Steam Deck 2 Valve will do for real. Anyway the Nintendo Switch 2 better be cheap, to not end entangled.

Xbox consoles are going to be dead soon. They already were severely wounded by simultaneous release of first party games on both Xbox and Windows, now this is the coup the grace. Just kill the Xbox brand already and become Microsoft Games.
I too don't regret to have bought an Xbox Series S, but soon I will move to Nintendo Switch 2. I still have my Switch collection of games (the console sadly finished already in my kids hands).

@MSaturn It's probable, since those were popular, but a completely new one can happen. And a remaster of Monster Hunter - World, eventually.

Problem is game logic, not graphics assets. If it doesn't get a port it's because game logic (CPU processed stuff) is difficult to shrink down. So if it's not feasible for a PS4 it shouldn't run on a Switch 2 too, since these two platforms aren't much distant in terms of processing power. It's a thermal constrained device after all! I wont expect it on Switch 2, so I consider this off topic in a Nintendo channel. Nintendo Switch 2 will surely get its own Monster Hunter.

The european one was pure s***. The japanese one was the most artistic and focused one, while the american one was the boldest. I prefer art over 'money catch', so my vote go to the sensible Japan. In the eighties US too had artistic covers. Eventually it wasn't already dominated by marketing and 'money grab'.

@RenanKJ It will, definitely. This is held back by Nintendo Switch and its poor RAM. It's a PC game optimized for far much higher specs. I ti will benefit greatly from the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware.

399.99 euro is max price, over it it will definitely fail because of competition, both internal: Switch (fewer people moving from it), and external: PS or SD (and other future PC handhelds), and the loss of the casual and family market.
349.99 euro would be much nicer for a console that ideally gets bought in multiple quantities for more family members (dad + child, etc.). It must be cheap.

Benelux is small and it's three countries with different languages that can be already served by confining countries. Taiwan is a bit bigger and maybe Nintendo has other collateral relevant activities there (semiconductors, parts, etc.).

What's important is that Nintendo don't rise the price of games and continue doing sales. PC is becoming competitive with the Steam Deck and the likes. Also hardware should be cheap. Great at 299.99, good at 349.99, but never ever over 399.99. Don't repeat the 3DS situation. I don't care about points, those just make confusion, bring better sales instead.

Name is ok, but if Nintendo place the Nintendo Switch 2 as a premiun console pricing it at 450 euro/dollars to keep the Nintendo Switch alive in the low-end Nintendo plans will fail in the long-term. It smells like 'New' Nintendo 3DS. Nintendo's customer base is full of casuals and parents that don't like to pay much for a toy.

@msvt I loved most one of the two Real Bout, but I don't remember which one. Fatal Fury 3 and King of Fighters 96 were great too.

@msvt There is not. Any Real Bout would do for different reasons, those are the best in the series.

It's not about early adopters, it's about maintaining the leadership of the whole market. If you still want casuals in, if you still want to sell it to multiple console users, if you still care to be the special gift to children, if you still want Switch owners to jump on the new generation the price must be low enough. If you still want to sell more than fifty millions consoles it must be 299.
Otherwise it will just be the 'premium Switch', desired by some but owned by few, and it will fail in the long run.
Nothing in it seems to justify an higher price, anyway. It's 2025, the new technology looks to be cheap like always. Good enough, powerful enough, but still cheap. 299, and maintain the lead.

Anyway looks decent, eventually more variety could have helped it.

Still it were economy and trading a very fun part of Elite. I would miss it in this title. I like 'expansion' and 'achievement' more than survival.

@Moroboshi876 Fatal Fury 3 it's already the new breed, it's a very good game, comparable to the Real Bout ones.
I do recommend Fatal Fury 3, Real Bout and Real Bout 2 in the serie. Every one of these games has something missing from the other.

@Nincompoop Nintendo don't really need anyone besides their customers, they sold millions of 3DS even with pathetic hardware.
There is so much technology companies out there... with nVidia it's just better. And life is better for nVidia with Nintendo so the agreement gives mutual advatanges to the two companies.

Looks like a very weak year. Eventually they had unreleased Wii U games just for the first year. Looks like they haven't enough workforce to support the Switch by their own. Nintendo should find new partners to invest into and making more exclusive games for the platform. There is just Kirby in the first three months of 2018 as a new AA game. Mario Tennis in June? Just meh.

Meh, it is a pretty good game badly reviewed. A true classic.

Good for Xbox owners, at least they got something exclusive to play.

I still think that Mario 64 is the perfect game. It's about poetry, like with Ocarina.
You don't need 'stuff' in poetry, it's about 'message'. And Super Mario 64/Ocarina messages are of an higher value.
Still Odissey and BotW are wonderful games, full of content and poetry too, especially the latter. Though they look more 'builded' (like a romance), while Super Mario 64/Ocarina are more barebone but focus more on emotions and aesthetics.
It's like comparing Daggerfall with Skyrim. Skyrim is a bold (thick) RPG, but Daggerfall has just more artistic value.

It's called corruption, in every company there is some sort of corruption. It's about human nature.
(those) Games are well received on Steam and without age blocks, no excuses. Everyone know that even trash gets continuosly allowed in the Nintendo Switch system.

This is the best episode in the series. Obviously it got underrated in Nintendo Life. Typical. Mere decent SNK titles instead got a 9. Well...

@Kiyata Suikoden was pretty plain, almost predictable. Standard.
Suikoden II had a far better and more complex story and a stellar cast. A step ahead over any RPG.

I liked all the two, but for me really no comparison. I still have the original game.

It's the best entry in the serie, especially for the soundtrack and those backgrounds that are perfect. Roster is very good and bosses are excellent, also difficulty level is perfect, until you end with one of those bosses (Chizuru if I remeber correctly). I'm in.
