Im pretty confident this is NOT the game - I'm sure they were referring to Watch_Dogs as it was a blockbuster title that was complete and simply held back. It's now released, therefore I wouldn't expect any further Ubisoft games on WiiU.
@Extremist it certainly sounds like a legitimate reason, I cannot remember the last time a download update wasn't issued for Europe! However the fact that Ironfall is coming out this week is a lovely surprise!
Excitebots was one of my favourite Wii games. As a UK resident I couldn't buy it, however I loved Excite Truck so much that I imported a US Wii just to play it! Excellent game, and along with Fire Emblem and RE4:WE makes my top 3!
Sick of these people - I wanted the limited Edition 3DS XL Fire Emblem model when it launched in europe but didn't have the funds, and when I did get the money it was only available from select independent retailers for vastly inflated sums! I decided to secure my Majora's Mask New 3DS XL using my credit card this time round and I couldn't be happier! I really feel for those that can't get it though.
This is great news! Galaxy 2 would not feel right using the gamepad to control is, however a game like Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn would be suited to the gamepad! Really looking forward to Kirby as I never owned that, and Pandora's Tower! Plus Metroid Prime Trilogy.
Doom 64 was my first N64 purchase, and one of my favourite FPS games ever. I'm not sure a multiplayer mode would have been that great(especially with only two players) however I would have preferred it be included than not, assuming the overall game didn't suffer as a result!
Went to my local Game store today (Braehead) and they were able to show me the game! Placed a pre-order with the store and cancelled my online order as it still hadn't been sent, so I'll def have it on Monday! Really pleased about this news!
It's very sad that I am deciding to get this game based on the fact that I love the show, and game genre. Deep down I know it will be a disappointing game but I can't help myself.
I loved this game, and while I feel the review is harsh, it's refreshing to be reminded that not everyone likes the same thing. Nintendo64x64 has been a great feature so far, I hope the N64 coverage continues!
@Ventilator the PAL version had a horrible conversion as most NTSC to PAL converted games did in the eighties and nineties, and it resulted in slower gameplay(around 17% slower I believe) so in theory, for every minute you race on a course in the US or Japanese version of Waverace 64, it will take you an additional 17 seconds to cover the same ground in the PAL game, making Time Trial comparisons a non-starter.
Great news, and about time that AUS/NZ gamers get some special treatment. The last thing that AUS/NZ gamers got that I wanted was Snowboard Kids 2 on my N64, so I imported it! I also worked out that the price of the New XL converts to around £136, and although it's more likely that the system will retail for more than that, it does seem like a great price for UK gamers!
Being honest, the game doesn't look great and my expectations are low, however I love the show and turn based games so if the price is fair (£20 or less) then I will buy it regardless. Fingers crossed!
I'm glad to see this feature is now back on the news feed! This is a game I sadly never got to play back in the day but I am tempted to track it down now as I always thought it looked great. It received mixed reviews upon release though.
@VGScrapbook Couldn't agree more! I've had to bookmark this page so I can get back easily enough! Why it's not a massive feature I don't know. I think the whole idea is genius and it's a welcome breath of fresh air.
I love steelbooks, and will certainly be more enticed by this physical release, however If you cast your mind back, Metroid Prime Trilogy on the Wii got a limited edition steelbook release in NA I think! My EU version just came with a slipcase, but I'm positive the NA one had a steelbook @AlexOlney
@CaptainToad the price of the WiiU should be whatever it is going to sell at. Eight years is certainly a long time and the world has changed, you're right! - understand this though, I was born in 1983 and the world has changed a few times since then. It always has and always will.
I bought a WiiU at launch and love it. However it has not sold as well as hoped, and one of those reasons is price. The WiiU has been under £200 and sold better than usual. All I'm saying is that I believe the £179.99 mark to be where most will decide to jump on board.
I'm really looking forward to this game, although I did have the same thought's that this would be best suited to an eShop release. I know it's going to be great so I'm excited.
@bezerker99 I wouldn't say the article was misleading, it simply was making people aware of the fact that it was a first, and an exciting first too for Nintendo Platforms.
It would be down to the developer whether they want to go for a deal like this in most cases, and not everyone wants to do it(or has the same game on most platforms) so this is a great first step. Let's see what the coming months bring for cross-platform games.
Being honest though, what percentage of games are available i the same form on both platforms? Mainly virtual console games for the NES to be honest. But as I said, a great first step and fantastic option to have!
This looks great, and I was going to make this my first backed project however I am not going to lie, peoples concerns about the legitimacy of this project are the sole reason I have not pledged as of yet. I would hate for this to be legitimate but not get funded because of peoples concerns however the required funding seems rather modest.
I personally am delighted with my Wii U day one purchase. It may not have the third party support of other consoles, however for me Sony and Microsoft's 1st party efforts aren't nearly as appealing to me as Nintendo's.
That may be my personal opinion and other's are entitled to disagree, however I have had nothing but good experiences with my Wii U, and E3 has shown me that I will continue to have an amazing experience long term.
I would love to see an update where games can be organised into folders, similar to what the 3DS can do(only allowing a name for the folder to be displayed rather than just a letter!) I only have around 4 spare channels on my Wii U menu now and I'm getting worried that I'll have to delete stuff! A minor inconvenience but one I shouldn't have to deal with!
@Blue-Thunder everyone has their own opinion. I would love to see VC releases of Gamecube games(Which I firmly believe WILL happen within the next year) or more HD re-releases. If you don't want them, don't buy them. With either eventuality, it will not prevent Nintendo from releasing brand new top quality software. I believe most VC games are handled by much smaller teams and in some cases I think they may be farmed out to external studios to deal with but whether I'm right or not, re-makes are part of the business and all consoles have them. They are successful and perhaps seem by studio's as a smaller risk.
@Sean_Aaron I just bought the game from the eShop(midnight launch) and it says as long as you don't register the code before 10am on Club nintendo you will still get the free game so if you are still awake then go for it! Mine is downloading now!
My most memorable experience on the wifi service was undoubtedly beating Europe's number 1 player on Mario Strikers Charged. Me and a friend would play it every Monday(and usually a Tuesday or Wednesday) to try and at least top the league for a day or two. It was immense fun and I hope a Wii U iteration comes along soon!
I bought the original on WiiWare, and I also bought the PSN version. I will also be buying this as it is simply one of the most enjoyable experiences I had on WiiWare. One of the few WiiWare game's I played until the end.
@snoox although there are only 3 18-hole courses, there is the sky island one shot course which is really REALLY difficult, plus the Mushroom Kingdom courses. There is 100% enough content in this game at release. The DLC and online modes only ensure that this game will be getting played all year round.
This game is fantastic, with sooo much content without the DLC. Very few people can any realistic argument with that. The DLC is great so far too, with an old N64 course being refreshed!
Whilst I don't always like DLC, I would love something similar for Mario Kart 8. I have always wanted additional courses for MK games after release. And we already know there are 32 tracks, on par with recent entries in the series therefore if there is any DLC then it cannot be argued that the tracks should have already been included!
This game sounds great! I loved Mario Golf 64, and although I didn't feel it as good, Toadstool Tour on the Gamecube was also great! I was gutted there was no wii Mario Golf so I'm thrilled to see that this has turned out so well! And the season pass DLC sounds like a must buy too!
Another positive is that it will sell for £34.99 on the eShop instead of the higher £39.99 for most other new releases! AND if you buy the eShop version you get the GBC Mario Golf for free! I'm a little too excited I think.
Great news! Nintendo never reduces the amount of content in a game to offer it as DLC and I don't think ever will. Therefore as long as the game lives up to my expectations then I'll purchase all DLC, provided it is reasonably priced. And no, Nintendo won't release this DLC day 1. And even if they did, who cares? If you don't want it, don't buy it!
Some people pre-order because they have the money at the time. For instance, I have the money right now, so will pre-order it. If I don't, I'll likely spend the money before it's released. Therefore, Nintendo make a sale without the game being out yet.
Brilliant game, loved it at launch and was the real surprise of the launch. Absolute Gem of a game. Not often a game excels on WiiU over it's counterparts but this is defo a game that does. People looking for a game to tide them over until MK8?? This is it. And it's cheap!

I really only want the Fire Emblem characters and already have Ike and Marth, however it seems I won't be able to get Robin or Lucina.
