Re: Ubisoft: Wii U Stock Apparently Being Focused on US

THENAMESNORM

Of course the US should get more than the UK and Europe! Nintendo systems always do better in the US than in Europe.

I'm in the UK and have had my Wii U pre-order in since a few weeks before the bundles were announced, and there are still pre-orders available mere weeks before launch, whereas they were sold out in the US within a matter of days.

While I believe the Wii U will be sold out in the UK and probably most of Europe quite soon, with it launching in the US first, why shouldn't they get more units??

Re: Mass Effect 3 Wii U Content Detailed

THENAMESNORM

Stop all your complaining, If you like the game, get it. If you don't like the game, then pick something else. It's a great option to have, and it does come with alot of extra content. I have never played Mass Effect 1 2 or 3 so this is a great opportunity for me to get into it!

Re: Watch: First US Wii U Advert Appears

THENAMESNORM

@The_Other_M it says How U Will Play Next, not How Will U Play Next.

I think the advert it REALLY good, and alot better than our UK one anyway! I'm really pumped for the Wii U! Really don't know how I'll cope waiting until the 30th for the EU release!

Re: Nintendo Is Holding Back Wii U Titles To Maintain Momentum Into 2013

THENAMESNORM

Nintendo are spot on - why release ten quality games all at once? Very few Wii U owners will be able to pick up more than a couple of games at launch. I'm getting the EU ZombiU Pack, and also Nintendo Land and NSMBU. I simply cannot afford another game, and probably can't for another few months. So by some games being held back slightly it just means I'm not missing out on anything, and have software to look forward to! I'd prefer it if we were re-assured that these games are going to benefit from the extended time they have to further develop them, but I trust they will be high quality titles nonetheless.

Re: Iwata: We Must Make Smart Devices Our Allies, Not Our Enemies

THENAMESNORM

I agree that console games always have and likely always will provide the best gaming experiences out there, however it cannot be denied that mobile gaming using a smartphone is on the rise. I don't think it will ever replace consoles, so I see no harm in using them for apps, as many people have suggested Nintendo Channel app would be well suited to an iPhone, or the Mario Kart Channel would be great to check stats(as would Wii Fit/Plus/U)

Re: First UK Wii U Television Advertisement Breaks Cover

THENAMESNORM

There's only so much you can get into an advert nowadays, and theres so much to say about the Wii U. I'd personally like to see a range of adverts, or a story. The #1 reason to play and so on is great, but why not have a dozen different commercials, and play 2 a week or something until launch, counting down the best reasons to play it! Too late now i suppose.

Good advert though. I'd also like to see specific adverts for games, a ZombiU one I'm sure will come in time, and you always see multiplatform games advertised for the 360 or PS3, it'd be good to see one for the WiiU now!

Re: Activision Clueless On How Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 DLC Will Work On Wii U

THENAMESNORM

I don't believe that Activision and Treyarch don't know anything about the online capabilities, I believe they just aren't sure on certain aspects of it. Perhaps how it will be delivered for example.

In any event, If Nintendo aren't wanting to spill the beans on what has been referred to as a revolutionary online service then It would make sense that Activision and other companies won't comment on anything that they know of it either. If it is truly revolutionary, then Nintendo won't want anything revealed until launch, and I'm ok with that.

Re: Reggie: Time Spent on Rival Devices is a Missed Opportunity For Nintendo

THENAMESNORM

I absolutely agree that Nintendo could consider themselves an entertainment company - heck the Famicom was marketed as the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) when released worldwide! How many people could honestly say they are not entertained by a Wii or a 3DS??

I would also strongly agree that Nintendo still has the majority of casual gamer's, especially in the UK. I see very little argument that MS has the majority, despite their efforts with Kinect.

Re: Wii U Resellers Captilise On Demand By Fleecing Consumers

THENAMESNORM

I pre-ordered the Wii twice when it came out so I could make sure I got one on launch day, and I did.

The second pre-order wasn't available until a few days before xmas(3 weeks after release), and two of my friends wanted it - one wanted to play it and the other wanted to sell it on eBay for the going rate of around £450 at the time!! So i gave it to my mate who was going to play it and he simply gave me the £180 the machine cost.

I don't agree with selling on for vast profit at all and stopping someone who genuinly wants it from getting it, but as @linkstrikesback said, I can see the appeal. But being honest, what happened with the Wii got everyone talking about it and I'm sure helped contribute to the system selling out for long periods of time!

Every cloud.......

Re: Rayman Legends Won't Arrive Until Q1 2013

THENAMESNORM

I really like the look of this game, but with Zombi U, Nintendo Land and New Super Mario bros U already pre-ordered i didn't have room for Rayman on my day one list! So for me this news is actually great, as I have a great game to look forward to very early in 2013, and I'm now likely to pick it up after all!

Re: Rumour: GameCube Coming to Wii U Virtual Console

THENAMESNORM

I'd love nothing more than for GameCube games to be available as downloads, and I DO believe it will happen, however this article is based on their best guesses.

Retro gamer have run a few articles on the Wii U and that in itself is great to see, however there are faults all over the article in question, here are just two such examples:Firstly they mention that a Pokemon game is in Nintendo Land, which if it is then have a world exclusive there, and secondly they say that the premium bundle is £359.99.

I would assume that most of this article was written when the Nintendo Direct broadcast was on and all the info was too much to handle!!

Re: Review: La-Mulana (WiiWare)

THENAMESNORM

WiiWare's 43mb restriction is an unwelcome constraint, however that hasn't stopped some really great games being published on it: MotoHeroz, World of Goo, Airport Mania, Bit.Trip.Runner to name a few.

The service may not be for everyone, but I'll champion it all day long for the triumph's it has supplied.

Re: Review: La-Mulana (WiiWare)

THENAMESNORM

Been following this game for a while, but waited fo the review before buying. Will buy this asap now! Really looking forward to it!

And Brando67854321: You obviously do care, otherwise you wouldn't be reading the review, or commenting so frequently.

This seems like a game that deserves to be supported, so that is exactly what I'll do!

Re: ZombiU Wii U Premium Bundle Costs £349.99, Doesn't Include Nintendo Land

THENAMESNORM

I've just been down to Game to upgrade my pre-order to the ZombiU pack(they have been taking pre-orders for ages, telling customers to come back when the bundles are announced to make their choice) and the manager there told me that Nintendo Land IS included, and they were told that specifically from the Nintendo Rep. I still believe that it won't be included though, so I pre-ordered Nintendo Land aswell.

Re: Feast Your Eyes on Nintendo's Wii U Launch Hits

THENAMESNORM

I had already pre-ordered my Wii-U long before yesterday's announcements, but the Nintendo Direct blew me away! I'm now forced to get the ZombiU bundle(It still comes with nintendo Land, right??) new Super Mario Bros U, Lego City Undercover and then I need to save for 007 Legends, Black Ops 2(assuming it comes with the same dlc that 360 and ps3 will get - inc Nuketown 2025) and Epic Mickey 2!! What a great list of launch window games!!

Re: Review: Picross E (3DS eShop)

THENAMESNORM

I love picross however I feel the game pales in comparison to previous entries in the series. However at £4.50 there's plenty of content and more for your money than the full price retail versions previously released. I'd hope for some dlc for this in future but I'd be surprised if that happened.

Re: Those Wii U Launch Details Might be Coming in September

THENAMESNORM

Wii was launched in Europe in early December(the 6th I think??) and I'd settle for a similar result this time. As for pricing, I'd expect £230, but to be honest I would hope that would also include a game(Nintendo Land would be my choice). I'm actually more worried about what an additional GamePad will cost!

Re: Chrono Trigger

THENAMESNORM

I bought this when it came out on the DS without reading a review as I think everyone who has loved a Nintendo console has heard of it, and I also bought the Virtual Console release, but never played either of them until today! 4 hours solid and I cannot wait to get back into tomorrow! One of the nicest surprises gaming has to offer I believe!

Re: Katsuya Eguchi: Wii U Design Philosophy is For Everyday Life

THENAMESNORM

Whilst I can clearly see the resemblance of the Pro Controller to the 360 controller, I would ask everyone to remember that the 360 controller was a mash up of various other controllers over the years, from NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Playstation etc, so its no surprise to me that this design for this particular type of controller has almost been perfected.

I'm all for the Pro Controller and the flexibility it brings for both gamers and developers.

Re: Yves Guillemot: Nintendo's 'Created Something Good' with Wii U

THENAMESNORM

There are no surefire winners in the gaming industry, and therefore everything is a risk. I love my 3DS, but I am personally far more excited about the Wii-U than I was when the 3DS was announced. I am convinced that as long as the Wii-U makes it release window of 2012 that it will be a success. Not quite the runaway success the Wii had at launch, but with the right pricing it should be a success.

Re: New Super Mario Bros. 2 Download Size Breaks Some Blocks

THENAMESNORM

I didn't even bother with the 2gb card that came the machine at launch, i put a 16gb one in straight away. I doubt I will need the space but i didn't want the hassle of changing at a later date.

For what it's worth, i will always buy retail where it's available. I love owning physical versions of games. But i love that people have the option.
