This is certainly something I'd like to try out and play around with, but absolutely not with my Game Boys. It would kill me to screw up my Game Boy Pocket I've had since I was 10. Maybe I'll go buy one to play around with.
@Tsurii897 Yeah, but the games are ones we already have! I've had a CN account for 3 years, and I've seen the same games cycle through every couple of months.
I'd kill for a t-shirt, figure, literally anything.
@sgotsch Kirby, in general, is probably one of the laziest character designs I've ever seen. Pink blob with a cute face and blob appendages. That Amiibo is as detailed as it's going to get.
I think Nintendo really underestimated the actual demand for any of these products, which seems absolutely bizarre to me. They obviously knew a huge demand for a Game Cube controller existed enough to actually produce the thing... but not enough to supply it to retailers in adequate amounts. Had I not pre-ordered that months ago, I never would have gotten it.
Skylander and Disney Infinity toys have been selling quite well for years now, which is, I assume, what prompted Nintendo to create the Amiibo. I read somewhere that they've already made over a billion in sales because of these things. Imagine how much more they could have had they produced enough for the holidays.
What I think is, after they quietly discontinue a few of these, they'll reproduce them as a second edition sort of thing.
Ugh, nearly 2000 coins built up and there's never anything I want to spend them on. All the good games I already own, thanks to Club Nintendo. Just throw up some eshop credits or Amiibo and we'll call it even.
I managed to snag Little Mac and Zelda when I had the chance. Diddy Kong doesn't release until Wednesday - Friday, depending on the retailer. The other three don't release until... No one knows when.
I'm always happy when the Fine Bros. pick a classic for them to play and, despite its difficulty, they still appreciate and enjoy the experience. I love how utterly confused they are by enemy respawns though.
I think he could make a profit on the Wii U eshop simply based on how the layout works. I was actually holding off in hopes this would port over, but I completely understand. I love that the Wii is built into the WiiU, but the pain in the donkey-ery I have to go through to play it makes me not. I'l probably just grab this on 3DS now.
You know, on more than one instance, I had Marth in my hand and I said, "Meh" and put it down because I'm just not a huge fan, and the paint jobs looked bad. Had I only known! I do have WFT and Villager though.
@Tsusasi Yeah, that's not how the Amiibos work at all. They're not at all like the Skylanders or Disney Infinity figures. I can still play as Marth in Smash with or without the Amiibo.
This will be an after Christmas purchase for me. As much as I absolutely would love to pick this up this week, I've spent far too much money on games in the past month, and with Christmas fast approaching, I have presents to buy for others.
Meanwhile in NA, we have 4 physical rewards to choose from, including Nintendog postcards and those Smash posters. Sure, we get more games available, but they're always the same games that get recycled; most of which I already own.
I'd totally complain less if eshop credits were made available, that way I could buy the games I want. OR maybe just throw some Amibo figures up there. I'd shut up then.
I'm surprised how well this works. Someone over there really knows their Mario. But damn, if nothing Nintendo related followed that performance... what a terrible missed opportunity.
@Peach64 I don't know. I have a couple friends that want a Wii U, but refuse to buy it until Zelda releases. Why, I have no idea? But that seems to be the mentality with the system. "I'll get it when _____ releases." Xenoblade is a super niche game, so yeah... I'll agree with you there. Though that initial trailer is what made me go out and buy a Wii U even though I knew I'd be waiting a few years.
@InfernoUprising W101 is an interesting game. It certainly doesn't deserve the critic backlash it seems to get. The controls are odd and a little frustrating to get used to, but once you get the hang of everything, you feel stupid about it ever giving you trouble. I bought a physical copy for $30 earlier this year and I'm glad that I did.
@nomeacuerdo I agree. That boss battle is still my favorite one to date. And then I barely used the spinner outside of that dungeon and was totally bummed.
I'm not actually downloading anything. But, I do have SSBWU and Pokemon OR on reserves, which I'll grab at midnight. Along with the adapter and some Amiibos.
@MoonKnight7 A lot of what Nintendo is doing lately is fairly uncharacteristic of typical Nintendo. So, I'm really curious if they're being influenced by investors to make differing changes or if this is them finally adapting.
Yoshi is my main in Smash, so naturally I'm going after him. I'd be gunning for Link, but I'd rather have that Toon Link. I'll shell out tons of monies for Dunk Hunt, G&W, ROB, and Pac-Man though.
@MoonKnight7 That's a good point. They really love to reiterate questions we already know the answers to. Your question, however, was much more interesting and something I'd actually like to know the answer to.
Under normal circumstances, I'd never be okay with DLC. The garbage that gets pulled by a lot of companies is awful; content is on the disc and they make you pay to unlock at a hefty price. But, Nintendo seems to be doing it right. They push out a completed game and then eventually add some additional content for a reasonable price. Heck, the MK8 DLC is practically an additional 1/3 of the game for $12. If they decide to do the game for Smash Bros., I have a feeling it won't be that bad.
I'd like to see some of the rewards that EU is getting over here in the US. They have all this fantastic merch, and we're left with irrelevant Nintendog postcards, Grill-Off for the Wii, and outdated Kirby Yarn patches. What happened to all that great stuff we used to get?

I just popped on and was surprised to see that shirt. I snagged that up mighty quick.
Re: Poll: Fake Wave 4 amiibo Images Make Us Dream of More Figures
Oh thank god, these aren't real yet. I need a small break after trying to scramble for waves 2 and 3.

Re: Parent Trap: The Eyes Have It, Why amiibo Detail Matters
@earthboundlink "Boss, we don't have a design for the character yet!"
"Meh, just give that circle a face and some arms, and we'll call it a day."
But seriously, I love Kirby. That adorable blob always makes my day.

Re: Feature: Time to Vote For Your Game of the Year Awards 2014
It's so hard to choose this year! MK8 and SSBWU are definitely tied. But damn does Shovel Knight just take all my wins this year.
