Update:
If you particularly like the music medley in the video below, you can download it for free from Nintendo's website.

Irrespective of your stance on TV dance talent shows, you'll have to begrudgingly admit that what we're about to show you is pretty damn cool.
In a segment which must have made bizarre viewing for anyone not familiar with Nintendo's output, Duck Dynasty's Sadie Robertson and dancer Mark Ballas reached the final of Dancing With The Stars by free-styling to the Super Mario Bros. theme. The duo earned a perfect score for the dance, which also included Toad and Luigi. No death stares were recorded.
Joking aside, this is pretty amazing exposure for Nintendo and Mario, given the large audience which tunes in each week. Did you catch the show? Let us know your thoughts by posting a comment.

Yeah it was pretty cool. I was actually sitting in the recliner playing Smash Bros on the gamepad while my wife was watching DWTS.
And do you know how many WiiU commercials followed that Mario dance? ZERO.
Missed opportunity Nintendo. HUGE missed opportunity.
I saw that one. Easily my favourite out of the four freestyles.
That was great! If I watch these type of shows it's usually in the hope of someone doing some MJ, but I got just as big a thrill outta that! Awesome, loved it
My mom made me watch it with her, good publicity for Nintendo though. Too bad they didn't capitalize on it...
Haha! I hope the got through xD That was amaizing
Really cool indeed!
There was once a similar one on Dutch program Holland's Got Talent. http://youtu.be/djBeTRcxJ8U
Only with Mario & Luigi though but still cool.
Not bad, good publicity for Nintendo though
People still watch that show???
Death stare absent, 7/10 by default.
This is the kind of publicity that money just can't buy. And a testament to the long-lasting cultural impact of Mario and his makers.
Okay, that's awesome! I've watched Sadie's other performances, she's pretty dang good too! Especially for someone who has never done this sort of dancing before.
I love the duck dynasty crew!
Unfortunately, the audience were like, "Ah, Mario, I remember that old thing. Too bad they don't make 'em anymore." Instead of, "Ah, Mario, I should get a Wii U with 3D World."
Cheesy costumes, and on the side of simple, but still great!
But about the dance itself, it was amazing. Truly a work of art. Sadie makes a cute Peach.
Two words: unexpected awesomeness
i liked the sound of the star power tune
but i play my tv instead of watching it
Christ, the show's really forgotten it's supposed to be about ballroom, hasn't it?
I didn't see it live last night, just the brief recap while waiting for "Castle" to start. But wow...that was both funny and amazing! I love how they included Luigi and Toad, and would be thrilled to hear what Mr. Miyamoto or Charles Martinet have to say about it.
@KamenRiderClive To their credit, this was the Freestyle dance. Anything goes there.
May I be that one guy that tells everybody to Do the Mario? Cool, thanks.
"Swing your arms from side to side..."
I'm surprised how well this works. Someone over there really knows their Mario. But damn, if nothing Nintendo related followed that performance... what a terrible missed opportunity.
"Dancing with the stars has been claimed by Nintendo for use of characters without consent"
@Ninty4thewin I have that same costume. It could well be an Aladdi costume as well. If i had a spare magic carpet to carry around with me
Except Sonic and maybe MegaMan, no other 3rd Party has anything remotely iconic as far as Theme Music goes!
This is why Ninty will never fail!
Sony nor MicroSoft will ever have anything as impactful in culture as Ninty!
That was so joyful! I loved that and voted for them to win! It's great to see famous people that are so kind and willing to do something creative instead of the same old love story crap that HoollyWood has done to death 10,000 times over!
Neat!
Whaaaaaaaaaat?! Neat!
@Kaine_Morrison completely agree with u, I can't hum one sony or Microsoft theme tune. But countless Nintendo ones
It turns out that Nintendo's Koji Kondo himself was asked and helped with the American representation and music medley !!!
Nice dance but a Wii U plug in would've been nice. Oh well...Go Nintendo!
Pretty cool dance! And the atmosphere was great as well.
So that's what I missed last night!
Loved this freestyle, was hoping you guys would post it! It's been a great DWTS season.
My mom saw it but I missed. Now thanks to Nintendo Life, I get to see it. Amazed what they did to the set too...
