Nintendo of Europe and Nintendo Australia / New Zealand have had a reasonable recent record of adding neat products to Club Nintendo, and it's now swung into action with a rather attractive golf ball set. It's not exactly golfing season in Europe — far from it — but it's summertime Down Under; in either case it's a tempting option.
It's a set of four golf balls in a rather nice box, branded for the excellent 3DS release Mario Golf: World Tour. It costs 3500 stars in Europe and 2000 stars in Australia.
Another welcome addition to Club Nintendo. Are planning to bring your stars collection to the fore to nab one of these?
Thanks to all that sent this in.

And Club Nintendo NoA still gets nothing note worthy
@ikki5
and our virtual console
...
...........
.......................
Is there a place I can go complain to?
I give up with NoA Club Nintendo. I mean sure, we get new games every month, but most of them are either repeats, or games people already have. I really would rather have these collectible items.
NOA you suck!
@ikki5 This is noteworthy? I'll take the free games.
@Krambo42
then go buy your points cards. At least you'll get a choice then instead of the recycled digital rewards.
@ikki5 They wouldn't be free games then, would they?
@Krambo42
I am talking about the point cards on your Club Nintendo
@ikki5 Yeah, we never get anything while other regions get nice stuff. It's so stupid and pisses me off. -_- I have 2600 points just sitting there.
And NA is NV.
I'm happy with the na getting lots of vc games, Im always just adding to my collection. But I want physical rewards more.
Ah! As a long time fan of Mario and a golfer (also I've always enjoyed the Mario Golf series), I'd love to have these, but alas, NoA doesn't care about the physical rewards anymore. I'd buy these if they were in a store somewhere actually. I guess my only option is give some guy charging $100 online for them at some point, and I'm not falling for that.
@Tsurii897 One mans trash is another's treasure.
Part of the reason I'm upset is I joined for the physical rewards, and while they had some I kind of wanted them but not really, so I just waited for some new ones. Well, I didn't realize they were just going to take things off and not add new ones...I would have gladly spend my coins then.
You snooze you lose I guess, but I really had no idea. And honestly, almost all the games I've gotten from CN just sit there, because I have more engaging games to play.
They may be overpriced, but dang I want some Nintendo stuff! I'm stuck over in the Americas with all this popularized stuff that I don't want (like ganksta shirts) when I want something cool that actually defines who I am (like a Donkey Kong shirt!).
I don't think I'll get these, don't like golf and don't really have enough points. Spent 'em all on the MK8 badges! Incase anyone was doubting their awesomeness, I give them an amazing out superb! The casing is actually REALLY nice too!
@Tsurii897 you do realize that all NoA got is paper (posters) and recycled digital rewards from last right right?
I'm no golf fan but thats pretty awesome golf balls.
Over here we have a saying that if translated goes something like "the neighbour's crops always look more appetizing". Personally I don't care at all for any of this merchandise and would much rather get some more games for my VC.
@BLPs
Amazing... now you are comparing apples to oranges.
Maybe if I cared or did anything now with Sony, I'd care. but to me with Sony, I buy their console several years after it comes out and I buy only RPGs, that's all, I don't use online, I do not download or do anything. I have the feeling a lot of other people here don't care what Sony has to offer either since well... this is a Nintendo site and you are either strictly Nintendo, PS/ Nintendo or Xbox/ Nintendo so bringing Sony into this is just plain stupid.
@LinkSword Oh, that'll be "The grass is always greener on the other side." Also, I totally agree, I don't care for WiiWare points and that one KK CD for 4 years xD
@Tsurii897 Yeah, but the games are ones we already have! I've had a CN account for 3 years, and I've seen the same games cycle through every couple of months.
I'd kill for a t-shirt, figure, literally anything.
Uhh... Club Nintendo US? Anyone home?
Oh wow those look pretty nice! ...Too bad I don't live in Europe, or play golf good.
@BLPs
I never said it wasn't, I said PS because I was talking about the console they created. Nintendo only makes gaming consoles really I could just say Nintendo and it would be automatically you buy Nintendo console while the other two make more than just consoles. This is the reason why I also said Xbox instead of Microsoft. Don't be stupid.
Also, in case you get confused on why I left out the fact that people could be only PS or only Xbox, it is because I am referring to the people who would be reading the news here. Just thought I'd let you know since you seem to get confused easily.
And with Nintendo of America, we can download a picture of golf balls. Probably.
That's a nice pair of balls in the first picture.
Club Nintendo NA rocks! We get greetings cards!
Anybody care?
No?
Maybe my dad?
...
Ok...
@Tsurii897
personally I would love that useless platic garbage club nintendo japan got....
You know I'm really suspicious of NOE, multiple physical rewards in a month like they're trying to get us to wipe our stars balance and this suspicion is mainly fueled by the following fact.
Recent games (Bayonetta, Pokémon, SSB U but not 3DS) have expiration dates of 31/03/15. Games are supposed to expire 3.5 years after their last release so these are quite a massive departure from there. That makes me wonder if NOE are reworking Club Nintendo or are going to wind it down and go out with a bang rather than a whimper which NOA seem to be doing.
Worldwide the Club Nintendo schemes are revised. New 3DS does not come with slips (though in Australia this might be related to the above), Japan no longer has elite membership (so just like Europe ) and the last few platinum gifts were digital games (including a DSiWare release of Advance Wars : Days of Ruin).
As for arguments, I'm out as the only winning move is not to play. No matter what you say everyone will claim the grass is greener.
@ikki5 Question. Would you spend 800 coins for 1000 Wii points? That is what you are saying Europeans who want download games should do. Also that website might not even work anymore, I got an error when I tried to log in. It claimed I had not linked a Club Nintendo account to my Wii (last time the Wii went on the Wii Shop it was linked) but that also makes it impossible for a Wii U owner to use (as you are unable to link CN account to the VWii Wii Shop).
@Starwolf_UK How did you find out the expiration dates of codes?
@WiiLovePeace The expiration date is shown on the code slip, I didn't pay attention to what it was for my recent games so I didn't notice the 31/03/15 date though I should have Captain Toad tomorrow so that should have the same date technically if @Starwolf_UK's theory is correct.
I'm thinking that date if present even on Captain Toad would essentially reveal the New 3DS release date as that console in both Australia and Japan do not have Club Nintendo slips.
@Starwolf_UK
So in other words, 400 coins for a $5 (most of the games offered are between $5-$8) or more closer to 500-600 coins to be able to choose my game? Yes I would. Especially with the state of the physical rewards and the fact that I am looking at another year of expired coins. It would be much better than having to see the same games time after time while the physical rewards do nothing but disappear. This is what I don't get about you Europeans. You complain about how great Club Nintendo of America is because we get the same digital games month after month while you guys have to pay double (or a bit more than double) to have the entire library available to you. Then on top of that, you get your physical rewards updated and restocked while in Club NoA, we have 3 physical rewards plus a digital game that has been there for 4 years now and then recycled digital games. Also, if it doesn't work, then maybe people should report that to Nintendo so that it can be fixed.
@BLPs
Yes, I understand that some people would go to sites where they don't own the console, but to go to a website about one company and then use another company to justify why one region should get what ever is totally absurd and pathetic. It is two different companies, two separate systems and hardware in which one site would be more heavily based on one company/system, in this case, that would be Nintendo. People wouldn't care as much for Sony on this site and if they wanted to care about it more, they'd be on the pushsquare site or some other site about Playstation. So coming to a Nintendo site to make an argument on how "Oh, well you guys get more attention from this company so therefore it evens out to the garbage you get from the company you care more about," that kind of thinking is just stupid.
I'm hoping the NA Club Nintendo picks up the pace with physical items. It litterally only has three items and two of them suck. I don't golf but would still pick these over the weak rewards over here.
Aww come on, NoA, get your act together!
Meh.... I'd rather have the Calander from Club Nintendo Japan !!
http://m.imgur.com/t/gaming/iCXEi
I couldn't care less about golf, but I hate NA club nintendo for not having any good/physical items...
So cool! Nintendo has added some great stuff in Europe and Japan lately. Apparently, Nintendo hates North America and loyal customers who take the time to register products and provide quality feedback. The only rewards we have are digital games that many loyal fans already own. I have a couple of games I haven't registered because there isn't any point. I have like 1000 coins I need to spend but haven't had anything decent to choose from in like a year. I sent a huge e-mail to them about my concerns and they responded by saying "thanks, we'll pass it along".....I haven' registered a thing since.
If those golf balls were available in NOA, I'd totally get them. Cool collector's swag. Sadly physical items continue to give us the middle finger. Having digital rewards are a nice option, but as other users point out.....its the same items repeated 99% of the time or the stuff everyone already has.
@smikey You could always get a second set of golf balls to use.
I live in Europe, in Finland and this means nothing to me. Why? Because we don't even have Club Nintendo. I would have 1000's of points with all the games and consoles I could register. Most, if not all, of the games I buy have the Club Nintendo points cards and they go straight in the bin cause they are pointless over here and don't get me started on Nintendo's pressence over here either. That's a topic for the other article lol...
Oh well, maybe one day they will get their act together. I ain't holding my breath though o_o ...
@OldWeeDog Sell the cards on ebay for other european countries that have CN, and use the money to buy whatever you want.
I should have done it too, instead of registering them. With the points card we buy on CN UK you can only get games on the Wii, nothing else I want there anymore...
Great free collector's item with a wink to the excellent Mario Golf series.
@andrea987 I was going to say the same, eBay is an excellent way of making money out of stuff you don't need.
Because all gamers play real life golf...
I want another diorama! =(
@Starwolf_UK Captain Toad arrived and it too has the 31/03/2015 date, looks like we've got a late March/early April date confirmed for the New 3DS then!
That's dumb.
