When Double Fine confirmed that it was bringing Costume Quest 2 to the Wii U, it wasn't surprising that a number of fans were rather pleased. The original gained serious popularity thanks to its cute visuals and solid adventure RPG gameplay, so the promise of a sequel that'll improve on that release is certainly tempting.
Of course, the trick-or-treat premise suits Halloween rather well, so its absence from today's European Nintendo Download news concerned some that were looking forward to the release. We've been in touch with Nintendo UK to clarify and, thankfully, it's been confirmed that it'll still arrive this week; panic for Costume Quest fans is averted, then, while it should hopefully be all set for North America, too.
If you're not sure what this is all about, the following description and recent (Sony) trailer should help:
You still play as twins Reynold and Wren, although this time around you don’t need to choose between the two. The current story revolves around a time travelling dentist named Kronoculus, whose goal is to rid the world of candy. Of course, your lovers of trick-or-treating will stop at nothing to but a wrench in the dentist’s time-altering plans.

Impeccable timing! The first one had great ideas, but was tedious in many ways. I'll probably get this just because it's DoubleFine!
Great was wondering when it would be released no surprise it's this week. Watched Walkthroughs of the first game and it is fun and unique. Seen some criticisms of this new game but i may enjoy it a lot. Hopefully North America is this week too
I wish they'd just confirm an American date already. My e-Shop funds have been ready for the entirety of October.
I'm hearing the 31st for the USA!
Awesome, they made the Wii U version quite well not much after the PC version. Hopefully Schafer & co. will support Wii U with also other releases from their catalogue.
@ricklongo you and me, brother. Pleeeease release this in NA before Halloween!
No off-screen play kills this for me, thankfully they are already working on a patch.
My money! My moneyyyy!
Seems that this week ended being so good, that it is actually bad; I HAVE to get this, Stealth Inc 2 and SMT4. And I was going to clear some backlog as well...I guess I have to push them even further back.
Hoping to see Broken Age on Wii U as well, when the last half comes out.
@ricklongo eshop shows it's releasing the 30th as well.
Well I may just have to get the Wii U version as Sony seem to be dragging their feet over the EU release of Costume Quest 2 for PS4. As long as it's Pro Controller compatible of course.
