Re: Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap Confirmed For Nintendo Switch Release This Year

@AlexSora89 I can elaborate upon the two potential situations. Relinquishing rights basically means that Sega no longer has the rights to Wonderboy (like they no longer have the rights to Rez). Licensing on the other means that, they still own the Intellectual Property, but it's the developers that are making the majority of the profit out of the game (like Fear Effect Sedna).

@Captain_Toad Why do you care more about a video game franchise than the working conditions of the people who programme, create assets and direct the game? That's beyond selfish and feeding rights into the hands of Konami. And they're not rumours, they are facts. Various reputable sources have confirmed this. For you to "defend" a corporate entity like Konami is dissapointing just for the sake of an overpriced Bomberman revival game.

@singingbrakeman It's funny, ever since Sammy acquired Sega and created the consolidated holdings company, Sega Sammy Holdings, Sammy never jeapordised Sega gaming structure. Sega's gaming and Sammy's pachinko business were unafilliated with each-other to this day. Konami on the other hand is compromising home video gaming for their pachinko business. Unless Kojima gets an apology or the workplace practices change, I will never directly purchase a Konami game.

@Shiryu So? they've already been funded by Konami so they've got their pay. Plus, do you know how good their working conditions are? they're probably being treated as badly as regular Konami staff with unwarranted surveillance and humiliating side tasks. Your money is going directly to Konami.

Re: Nintendo Shuts Down Another Pokémon Fan Project

@Shiryu Cheers man, Armor King is very under-rated as a Fighting character. But back to topic, these "fan-games" are more trouble than they're worth now. Essentially, what these creators are doing is asset flipping. Nintendo is well within their rights to be as adamant as they are with take-downs.

On the one hand, these are non-profit fan projects that pay tribute to Pokemon, but on the other hand, these people are using the intellectual property without The Pokemon Company's permission. Ultimately, it's better off to go in a Freedom Planet or Axiom Verge direction.
