Sega Europe is stupid. Why can't they publish these games!

Out of all the potential New 3DS aesthetics, why is this one getting a special announcement from Reggie? It's just random.

@Igetin Same here until I looked the company up on Wikipedia. What's even more perplexing is that they've been producing exclusively for Nintendo ever since their inception.

Let's hope that sales are successful enough to warrant an SNES Mini/Classic Edition.

@mid_55 The acquisition of Monolith Soft from Bandai Namco was initially going to be a Japanese exclusive venture, however, due to popular demand by fans, Monolith Soft proved to be a more valuable asset that initially expected.

In the meantime, Nintendo should acquire Intelligent Systems as a subsidiary. I'm so surprised that hasn't happened yet...

Visually, Super Mario 64 DS looks far better than the N64 version despite the N64 version having a higher polygon count...

It's stuff like this that makes me sad that Sega quit the hardware industry. On a more positive note, Sega seems to have slowly revive itself back into relevancy again which I'm so happy about.

I'm pretty sure that Square Enix of Japan are the only ones with the NX Dev kits right now as part of the non-disclosure agreement.

I know this is really left field, but, the Olympics would have been one of the greatest platforms to tease the Nintendo NX lol.

@Wexter Minecraft was multi-platform before the buyout of the developer by Microsoft. That's why Minecraft is still on systems outside PC and Xbox. It's too late for Microsoft to make it exclusive to their operating systems. I admire your wishful thinking, but Nintendo are completely fine without any of Rare's IP's on their system. Sure, Banjo Kazooie and Conker's Bad Fur Day helped defined the N64, however, those are the days of old.

@LeRaposa Thanks for the correction of the specifics of the shares, the fact remains that Game Freak are multi-platform developers.

@SlayerG Rare owns the license as Dinosaur Planet as the Dinosaur Planet concept was not originally affiliated with Star Fox until Shigeru Miyamoto requested it to be so thus scrapping the initial IP entirely.

@Wexter Still not gonna happen. On the outside, this may seem like Phil Spencer being open to Xbox IP's being on Nintendo consoles, however, from a business standpoint, this is Microsoft claiming market share on Nintendo's turf. Nintendo would hate that as it is Microsoft essentially invading Nintendo's first party space.

And to clarify, the Xbox One games that are coming to PC are exclusive to Windows Gaming. A gaming application like Steam owned by Microsoft.

I'm totally down for a Xenoblade Chronicles and Kid Icarus cross-over. Tetsuya Takahashi and Masahiro Sakurai collaborating would be golden!

On a separate note, why can't Nintendo just make Pokemon Conquest 2 starring Fire Emblem characters anyway?

@Wexter That's never going to happen. Rare is a first party company to Microsoft. That's like saying Nintendo should make Xenoblade Chronicles multi-platform because Monolith Soft used to develop for Square Enix and Bandai Namco for the PlayStation.

Now that Disney Interactive has shut down, couldn't the creator of this concept pitch this to Disney again and have a third party like Atlus help with publishing?

@DarkCoolEdge Pokemon is a joint investment with Nintendo, Game Freak and Creatures. Nintendo owns 40% of shares, Game Freak Owns 40% and Creatures owns 20%. Game Freak is not a Nintendo subsidiary like Monolith Soft is. Other games that they've created are Pulseman and Rambo the Badass Elephant and those properties are owned by Sega.

Anyway, I'm glad that Game Freak are still creating games outside Pokemon. It can be emotionally taxing to just place all your man power on one franchise.

That's the power of the Pokemon brand. It's a beautiful sight to behold to see the world get along with Pokemon.

@Nico07 The outcome of the Nintendo NX isn't going to tarnish Satoru Iwata's legacy regardless of how favorable it turns out to be.

Nintendo should have released a sequel to this for the Wii U on day one. Pokemon sells units: that's why the 3DS is still strong!

@scamander As a New 3DS owner, I understand that entirely. Thing is, this package is over-priced for what it's worth. Besides, in Japan, there's a part two of the Sega 3D Classics Collection with more games bundled and a dual bundle of Sega 3D Classics Part 1 and Part 2. I understand that the 3D is the novelty of the package but a lot (not all) of the 3DS users use the 3D feature in the first place.

You're better off getting the Sega bundle on Steam. Not only is it cheaper and not region locked but it's not compromised to 3DS hardware.

Why are there more New 3DS variations than New 3DS games?

This is so bittersweet to read. Sure, Satoru Iwata may have made questionable decisions but every CEO does that. At the end of the day, his mindset of a gamer is why Nintendo is as headstrong as he is now. Hope heaven's treating ya well Iwata-san.
