@BulbasaurusRex It sounds terrible. It makes people think of furries. It gives no indication of what kind of game it is (this is nitpicking, but it sounds like it might be a rhythm music game).
Yes, it has online mp, but I highly doubt it will ever be active.
FYI I bought it, since it’s only $7 on the Mexico eshop. It’s decent, but has a lot of annoying gameplay elements (waiting for action cooldowns, being bombarded by random bombs constantly, color-matching to force you to switch characters during single-player, a lack of combo options when fighting).
The Switch version doesn't seem to look as good, of course (and the game isn't exactly gorgeous to begin with), and after watching more gameplay videos I'm not quite sold.
@Mew2Senshi Pretty much. I remember getting a PSP and thinking that it was going to absolutely thrash the DS, and I was hopelessly addicted to Lumines and Ridge Racer. Then the DS started getting decent games, and Meteos in particular brought my attention back to it.
@FragRed Seems to have been planned mostly as a showcase for VR. I doubt they expected the attention they're getting. Of course Sony may have paid for 6 month exclusivity or something
@DenDen It's a good puzzle game. My problem with It is that It doesn't let you save in the middle of a marathon session (of the main mode). This has always been my peeve with Lumines. Typically after 30 minutes or so i need a break, and of course sleep mode helps but if i want to play something else I'm screwed.
Also, a decent chunk of the music is not enjoyable for me. Needs more EDM and catchy songs Imo
@BanjoPickles Mixed. IGN slammed it, others really liked it. It gets great reviews from Steam users. Some complain of glitches and lost save progress but the core game seems fantastic.
@eripmav Fair enough. The problem is that there are too many good indie titles, leading to too much competition, leading to some titles getting buried and having to resort to drastic price drops to gain attention. Then the end user ends up buying a bunch of cheap games and adding to a never -ending backlog, unwilling to buy new releases at full price because there is no time to play all of these games anyway.
@Romeo-75 I probably will get it eventually, but it will have to be in the $5 sale price range. I love shmups but don't usually get good enough to chase high scores, and this seems like the replay value is very much tied to high scores
Stop giving these grifters free advertising. They specifically targeted Nintendo fans to help spread the word for this service knowing full well it would never hit the Switch
It's a decent platformer, but man, some levels just drag on forever and get super annoying. The novelty of the switching mechanic is a joy to behold at first.
It's a decent game, but the fact that (as the dev says) the game is basically one long tutorial gets annoying. Show me the mechanics and let me play. The Velocity games are too much patting your head and rubbing your belly simultaneously for my tastes.
I love the SNES version. So simple, so repetitive, yet so incredibly satisfying. It's like a side -scrolling Dynasty Warriors in that you constantly mow down troop fodder
I really liked the words you were saying, but then I made the mistake of watching the video.
Holy mobile trash, Batman. That looks awful. Maybe it's going to be amazing, and maybe three years of work will pay off, but it certainly doesn't leave a good first impression.
Edit: Steam reviews are overwhelmingly positive so perhaps I am being too harsh
I will absolutely get this....as soon as the dev patches some of the issues. Once that patch drops, proving that they care about polishing the game up, I'm all in.
Fair enough. It's fully within their rights to stop this. But I sure don't feel bad for Nintendo, and I understand why people pirate games. If Nintendo made it easy for consumers to purchase their old games (as they should), then by all means, stop the pirating. But their apathy and lack of business sense helped create this mess, so they can take a long walk off a short pier.
Mario Kart 8 is honestly kinda boring. The tracks are too wide (unless you're playing on 200C and trying to make turns), and while the concept of the tracks is awesome, while you're racing you barely notice the anti-grav aspect. I'd rather have an all-new game than more DLC.
The problem with many of these roguelikes is that the way the levels fit together starts to feel very same-y. None of them have managed to top the way Spelunky did it, where each run felt fresh and unique

Re: Review: Full Metal Furies - A Fantastic Fusion Of Role-Playing, Puzzle-Solving And Good, Old-Fashioned Beat 'Em Up Action
The name really is terrible, and probably the main reason why it flopped on Steam.
Anyway, I may get it someday, but most reviewers seem to think it's more worthwhile as a multiplayer game.
Re: THQ Nordic Announces Another Three Games For Switch, All Launching In 2019
Nice, Sphinx is a solid title. The other two don't interest me, sadly.
Re: Review: Road Redemption - A Rough But Riveting Road Rash Revival
The release trailer for this game is still one of the best I've seen.

Re: Lumines Remastered On Switch Is The Best-Selling Version Of The Game
@Gen0neD I finally cleared it last week as well. I kept messing up at the third to last song, it was driving me nuts.
Really wish the song selection was better on this one. I love techno and trance and there are way too many oddball/ experimental tracks for my liking

Re: Trine Enhanced Edition Is Available Now On Switch, Second And Third Games To Follow
Pretty games, but the sloppy gameplay is a real turn-off.
Re: Nintendo Download: 8th November (North America)
YouTube! Don't do it people, it's a trap! Switch is for playing video games.
Re: Road Redemption Is The Next Best Thing To Road Rash, And It's Out On Switch Now
@psychoBrew I'd get the $20 game and wait for the other to go on sale, assuming they are of similar quality.

Re: Preview: Battle Princess Madelyn Effortlessly Steps Into Sir Arthur's Boots
@Mallow Probably true! Damned if you do, damned if you don’t

Wish that were true. Best of luck.

@cyrus_zuo I hear ya. I’ll buy it on sale in a few months.

4 levels. I'll stick with Aqua Kitty.
Re: Soapbox: Huawei's Not The First Company To Vie For Nintendo's Portable Crown, And It Won't Be The Last
Sony's slide phone/ gaming device was ahead of its time. If someone tries that again with actual support and quality software it could easily take off

@LinktotheFuture That game was actually awesome

There is a actually a great opportunity to make a great fitness boxing game. But this looks like garbage.

I would wait until it was $10, personally

Re: Bastion - A Captivating Indie Gem That Hasn't Been Dulled By The Passage Of Time
Really unimpressed with this on iOS. I urge the curious to wait for a price drop, as the Switch is drowning in much better Indies.
Re: Nintendo Download: 6th September (North America)
Good grief....Broforce, Dust, HLD, Chiki-Chiki Boxy Racers, and Planet Alpha. My poor wallet.

Meh, I have it on Vita. Personally, I find the multi-tasking annoying and I usually shut it off after 10 minutes.

Re: Graceful Explosion Machine Dev Announces Super Crush K.O. For Switch
Graceful Explosion Machine was great, but this looks....cheap? Flash-gamey? The art-style clashes with the design of the main character.
Hopefully the visuals will undergo a rehaul by the time it launches.
Re: Zen Studios Is Releasing Its Tower-Defense Brawler, CastleStorm, On The Switch eShop
I wanted to like this game, but I found the multi-tasking annoying rather than fun

Re: Soapbox: Fortnite's Motion Controls Leave a Lot to Be Desired
Works better in handheld mode. Trying to use them when the system is docked and holding a joycon in each hand doesn't work nearly as well.
Also, the game is prone to being laggy, which doesn't help.
Re: '80s-Inspired Side-Scrolling Shmup Black Paradox Is Headed To Nintendo Switch

Re: Deals: Amazon Prime Day Is Happening Now In The US, More Nintendo Switch Bargains On The Way?
Either these deals are mostly useless or the website is crashing. Or both.
Re: GALAK-Z: Variant S Ditches Its $9.99 Price Tag And Launches On Switch For Free
I’ve only played a few levels, but so far I’m extremely disappointed. The original version of the game looked great. This is bargain-bin mobile trash.
Re: Guide: Fortnite - How To Use Gyro / Motion Controls On Nintendo Switch
The right stick acts as a reset button of sorts.
I like them. Still fiddling with sensitivity, but half-way seems about right
Re: Nintendo Download: 12th July (North America)
Ghost 1.0 looks solid. It's made by the guy who made Unepic in case anyone is wondering. Steam reviews are very positive overall.

Re: Review: Squids Odyssey (Switch eShop)
Excellent game. Listen to @SKTTR, it really is charming and tons of fun. And stuffed with content for the low price.
Re: Hollow Knight Sold Over A Quarter Of A Million Copies On Switch In Two Weeks
@strauzen @tedko
Yeah, I know I can talk to him. I'm trying to find the Royal Waterway and Fungal place maps. I'm not really lost, just having a hard time.
I'm about 7 hours in. I feel like I've been doing things out of order, but I guess I need to realize that is no correct order to do things
Re: Hollow Knight Sold Over A Quarter Of A Million Copies On Switch In Two Weeks
Yay, money. I like the game, but I'm currently loooooooooooost and don't want to cheat. Game is harder than I expected.
