The Wii took off because kids could go to their friends' house and use the Wii remote as a tennis racket or a baseball bat or a sword or a steering wheel. Then they would bug their parents to buy it for them.
Really liking this game so far. The jumping bothered me at first (I like to be able to control the height of my jumps) but I got over it. Kinda gives it a Super Ghouls and Ghosts vibe.
On what planet is it cool to own a Vita? Sony's failures with Vita are similar to Nintendo's with the Wii U (poor name, poor advertising and marketing, caught in an awkward position where current efforts can't be easily ported to it, lack of compelling exclusives)
Agreed! The co-op issues and framerate problems in general should absolutely be mentioned. I feel like I'm playing a damn PS2 game when I play co-op and use the Gamepad.
Turok 2 was garbage compared to the first one. The first one was smooth (thanks to the fog, but still), played great, had inspired enemy and level design, and was fun to play. The sequel was a choppy mess.
Considering the fact that I always get bored of light-hearted RPGs long before the end, the length of this one is discouraging (to me, anyway). Hope you guys enjoy it!
Pretty much a failure in my eyes. The only thing I see on Wii U that interests me enough to want to buy the system is Super Mario 3D World, and the 3DS didn't have any E3 announcements that I cared about.
I remember enjoying Galactic Pinball, Jack Bros., Nester's Funky Bowling, Mario Clash, Mario's Tennis, Panic Bomber , Red Alarm, Vertical Force, Teleroboxer, and Wario Land. Great games on a system with way too many issues, and I'd love to see them released on 3DS.
I even enjoyed Water World for a while, but it was more of a tech demo than a game. There was also a golf game that was fun.
I imported RGC2. It's an excellent game, but there are several games (the Detective games and the RPG spring to mind) that would be a lot of work to translate. They are passable with a translation guide but not fun to play, and it really dragged the experience down for me. The usual old-school platformers / shmups / racing games were awesome, though.
I understand what you are saying....it's just that it's wrong. Almost all GBA games were able to be saved, and if Nintendo did add them to the eShop they would have save states. There were tons of awesome GBA games and I also can't figure out why you're implying that the GBA and the GBA SP are two different systems. They play the same games.
@Stuffgamer1 Erm I don't think the movie looks great. But animated films usually up the silly-factor in the trailers so you never know. Hopefully it's of the same quality as Despicable Me (which also had fairly lame trailers).
And if Wayforward can make Happy Feet Two 3DS good (and it is) then I have faith that they can make anything worth playing.
Looks pretty good. Very disappointed about the ease of collecting tons of money and having nothing to do with it. And not having a new game + with a harder difficulty? That should be a no-brainer, n-Space. You make a hardcore game with a casual difficulty level SMH
I agree. I loved Aria, grew tired of Dawn, and I'm currently going through Portrait (which I remember not really liking but I'm enjoying it more so far).
Sorry, I'm a fan but this E3 performance was a disgrace. It was awkward and embarrassing to watch at times. They didn't show a compelling need to own a Wii U (I could play these types of games by hooking up my GBA to my Gamecube), they didn't announce any new 3DS games, and the third-party support consists of slightly enhanced ports.
I will continue to enjoy my 3DS but I have very little faith in the Wii U. I don't think mom and dad (who own a Wii for Wii Sports and Wii Fit and haven't played it in 3 years) will care. Nor those who are playing their PS3's, 360's, and PC's. That leaves Nintendo's ever-dwindling hardcore fans, who they seem to have (once again) forgotten about at E3.
Meh, if they launched at $19.99 I would bite. I will either wait until it's $10 or get the Vita version when it gets cheaper.
And to those having trouble with Playing in the Shade, I also had major problems....the main part I kept failing at was when the platforms start to fall forward and domino, you need to wall jump after bouncing on the spring. Watch it on Youtube for help.

Re: Talking Point: Is There A Future For The Wii U Without The GamePad?

The Gamepad holds no such allure.
Re: Kickstarter Campaign Launches For ReVeN
Maybe if Nintendo would make another ******* 2D Metroid then we'd see fewer copycats.

Re: Talking Point: The Wii U's 'Relevance' Is About Sales, Nintendo's Strategy Has Remained Consistent
@I-AM-REGGIE
Uh huh. And GTA III pretty much ensured that the ps2 won. Things can change very quickly in this industry.
Re: Talking Point: The Wii U's 'Relevance' Is About Sales, Nintendo's Strategy Has Remained Consistent
@zool
Agreed on all points. Except for the multiplayer one...3D World's co-op is awesome.

Re: Nintendo Confirms Rambi's Return in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
@allav866 Apparently Rambi is the only animal friend in the game. Which is super lame.
However, each character (Diddy, Trixie, Cranky) has an underwater special move. So that's something.

Re: Developer Interview: Shin'en Multimedia Talks About Jett Rocket II, New Modes and Sticking with Nintendo
You guys rock! Make a spiritual successor to Iridion II please!
Re: Dave Cox - A New Contra Has "To Have a New Idea"
LOL - 'we need new ideas to create a game where you run to the right and shoot things'
Rebirth was great. Make a new game, with new levels, like that. Toss in a little Hard Corps.
Re: Review: SteamWorld Dig (3DS eShop)
The music sounds like it was done by the guy who did the music in the Metroid Prime Trilogy. Was it?
Re: Review: Turok: Dinosaur Hunter (Nintendo 64)

Re: First Impressions: Yoshi's New Island
LOL what a failure. Once I found out it was being handled mostly by people who made the very-nearly-awful DS version I knew it was doomed.
Re: Kokuga Officially Confirmed for Western Release
Looks decent. We'll see if the price is right.

Re: Review: Kirby's Dream Course (Wii U eShop / Super Nintendo)
I loved this game when I was a kid. One of my most-played SNES games.
Re: PES 2014 Will Not Be Dispensed On Wii U
LOL poor PES 13 3DS sales? No one could even tell me the game got released and I've never seen it on store shelves.
Konami, you are a hollow shell of your former selves.
Re: Video: A History Of Nintendo Controllers in Less Than 30 Seconds
LOL I love the 'Game Over' on the Wii U controller. I wonder if that was intentional.

My greatest fear is that the team who did NSMB2 is making this game
Re: Video: Get a First Look at This Jett Rocket II - The Wrath of Taikai Teaser
@Manfred
You guys rock, thanks for pointing out that there were more screens
I'm still expecting a 3DS 2D shmup from you guys! Don't let me down! That genre is woefully lacking on 3DS.
Re: Video: Get a First Look at This Jett Rocket II - The Wrath of Taikai Teaser
Manfred, based on the screens this looks like a 2D platformer with 3D racing sections. Is that the case?
I mean, I love 2D games and all but I was really hoping for a 3D platformer.

It never came out for Wii anyway....they moved it to the 3DS. It's out on Steam.
Re: Review: Mario Golf (Game Boy Color)

I feel sad and ashamed each time I do this, and you should too
Re: Nintendo Download: 11th October 2012 (North America)

Understood
I've put about 12 hours into Let's Golf and I am ashamed of this since I would rather be playing Pangya or Mario Golf or Hot Shots on Vita.

What two solid golf games?
Re: Retro City Rampage Trailer is Full of Old-School Cool

Yay, more Wayforward. Hopefully this will take some inspiration from Castlevania games.
Re: Michael Pachter: Activision Demanded Wii U Pro Controller for CoD
Sadly most professional reviewers and industry folks refused to even try the Wii remote FPSs and just wanted dual sticks.

Well poop
Re: Nintendo Download: 17th May 2012 (Europe)

Kirby's Dreamland 2 is completely different. The first one didn't even feature Kirby's now-famous copy ability. The sequel is far superior IMO.
Re: Europe Gets Rayman Origins 3DS Demo This Week
@zenarium How dost thou know this?
Re: May's Club Nintendo Rewards Are Up Now
@ Justao76
For 150 Club Nintendo coins I'd say it's worth it. The 3D will be a nice addition and hopefully you'll get a nice nostalgia kick from it.
Or your childhood memories will be decimated.
