I would love it if these mediocre developers would walk the walk instead of just talking the talk. High Voltage always said the right things too, but when it boiled down to making great games they couldn't pull it off.
No. I love the controls. People saying that the game has terrible controls are flat-out wrong. They THINK the game has terrible controls because they can't figure them out. It's not our fault (or Nintendo's) that some people can't play the game properly.
Took me 2 weeks of thinking I was going blind before Pilotwings could be blasted comfortably at full 3D. Now I have been battle-tested and can handle any 3D.
I quite like Steel Diver, but there's not a lot to it. I feel like it should have been a pack-in game. There's lots of replay value if you want to replay the same levels over and over to collect stickers.
Hmmmm. Doesn't look like my kinda game but I actually enjoyed Samurai Sword Destiny. Then again I wasn't expecting it to be a typical platformer (which it's not).
Well, I started the series with Super Metroid and absolutely loved it. It's still my favorite Metroid to this day (Metroid Prime a close 2nd). I have tried to go back and play Metroid 2 (GB) and the original, and IMO they just don't hold up well today.
Then again, I prefer a little hand-holding and guidance. If you like exploring and figuring out stuff on your own I can see the appeal here.
I agree with XC above, but this game is much more than tower defense. It still feels a bit repetitive at times but it's not your garden variety TD iPhone game.
@player310- 20 hours seems about right. There are 10 villages and I can see spending 2 hours at each one. It would take less than 20 hrs to just blow through the game and beat it if one were so inclined.
I think Dillon's is great. Fun gameplay, great strategy involved in building up your defense towers, decent graphics, good atmosphere. It has a good amount of replay value and exploration, as you have pretty strict time limits for getting good ratings on the stages but can replay them once you have better gear and more money. I dig it, and I can see spending 15 hours or so on it so $10 really isn't worth complaining about.
Whatever, the app store is crap. Want to update your games? Better click on each one individually, or update them all! Want to actually have it work properly? Sync your device with your PC / Mac! Want to actually be able to see useful information and keep track of your apps? Download Appshopper! Appshopper is only thing that makes it bearable.
Ok, if it doesn't look interesting to you then move along. There are plenty of games that look dull to me but I don't dwell on them and ask people to explain why it's so great.
As someone said above, all they need to do is a mandatory game update the next time all users connect online through Mario Kart 7. You download the update, glitch fixed, and all is well.
They can add Block Fort to the battle mode while they're at it....clearly it's a glitch that the course wasn't included at retail.
Sony appears to have learned from their mistakes. They have a touch screen (bout time they jumped on that bandwagon), they have motion control, they have two analog sticks, they have dumped umds in favor of carts, they have a battery saving screen, and it's got that cool touch pad on the back. The only thing they seem to have forgotten is that console-style games are best left for CONSOLES and they don't make for great handheld experiences. Which is why I chose the DS over the PSP in the first place.
Hey, that RABBIDS game looks pretty sweet. It may be my Mario fix for a while. And yes, Steel Diver would make much more sense launching at $20 (especially if it's as boring as some people say).
So after having it in stand-by mode for a few hours, I'll have exactly 7 minutes left to play actual 3DS games. Thanks for using left-over DS rechargeable batteries in your fancy new gadget, Nintendo!
Seriously, I get the anger at Nintendo for being lazy, but it's not like we aren't used to it. The Wii is as powerful as the Gamecube, for crying out loud.
But these are some of the greatest games of all time. Review the games on their own merits. Nintendo is lazy because they don't need to put in extra effort to make money. Fortunately, the money generated by the sales of this game will likely fund game development down the road.
Great game. I used to write off Bonk as inferior to Mario, but it's really a different style of platformer. I've grown to like (maybe even love) all 4 Bonk games that I've played. Bonk's Revenge is my favorite.
Plus, I just discovered they made a Super Bonk 2! Interesting....
I love it when EA starts acting all surprised when they make the same game every year and then it stops selling like hotcakes. Better yet, when they make the same game in 2010 that they made in 2002 and put almost ZERO effort into updating PS2-quality graphics.
And for the record, '10 was less fun than '09 (even with Motion +, which added very little to the overall game once the novelty of near 1-to-1 motion wore off) and '09 was less fun than Super Swing Golf.
This! Exactly! My friends and I played hundreds and hundreds of hours of the original (mostly on one stage, even) and Melee wasn't nearly as satisfying. Brawl was better (to me, at least), but like Mario Kart 64, the N64 battle mode reigns supreme.
It is ridiculous that we don't have a new Pilotwings or Kid Icarus after all these years. I suppose the games may have been in planning stages or development stages and things went horribly wrong, but still....do want! And a new Star Fox from Treasure, please. Makes too much sense.
And Metroid Dread would make a great 3DS launch title
Dewey's Adventure is excellent, and well worth whatever low price I'm sure you can find it for. The last world is recycled and fairly generic, sadly, but the rest of the game is awesome.
I remember it getting panned for having 'slippery' controls....you're controlling a freaking drop of water, of course it's slippery
Come on....this game is not NEARLY as bad as he makes it sound. I'd give it a 7 out of 10. The touch-screen controls work well, the levels are cleverly designed, and it's a fun platformer.
As good as other Wario games (4 and Shake It)? No. But the graphics aren't as bad as the review says, and the game has a good sense of humor.
Sony is going for Nintendo's throat! Wii is on the ropes and Sony is trying to make a move. They can point to Heavy Rain and say they are innovative, and meanwhile they will continue to 'innovate' by stealing Nintendo's and Microsoft's ideas.

Re: Rumour: Wii U Components Cost $180, Will Retail at $300
Hmmmm. I think $249.99 would be safer but what do I know.
I think the thing is going to bomb anyway. All the people who just bought a Wii for Wii Sports and Wii Fit aren't going to bite this time.
Re: Nintendo Download: 5th April 2012 (North America)
TNT Racing looks great. If it were also on 3DS I'd be all over it.

Re: Review: Dillon's Rolling Western (3DSWare)
@PinkSpider Indeed I have noticed these cool little nods to other games. I wouldn't be surprised if part of this dev team worked on No More Heroes.

I'd give it a solid 8. The content of the review is pretty much right on the money.

Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd February 2012 (North America)
@16
I am interested in this one as well. I really liked Dark Spirits and Ninja Karakuri Den.
Sakura Samurai looks pretty great as well. But I'm thinking I should save my $ for that Dillon's game....
Re: Rayman Origins 3DS Has No Multiplayer
Hmmmm. Not thrilled about this, especially when it will probably cost $30 - $40 while the console versions have already dropped to $20.
But I was only gonna play it single player anyway, so it doesn't matter to me. I will see if I can resist temptation until a price drop....

Re: Interview: Mutant Mudds Reader Questions
Well, compared to games on the iPhone / iPad this is a bit expensive. I think the game will be well worth $10 (as Cave Story DSi is).
I will be buying it, that's for sure. I think it would sell much better at $6 - $7 dollars, but that's for JOOLZ and co. to determine.
Re: Feature: The Biggest 3DS Games of 2012
How's about Rayman Origins? I'm terrified that it may get canned due to poor software sales on the consoles
This list doesn't do much for me, honestly. I am most looking forward to MUTANT MUDDS right now. How about a release date JOOLS?

Color me unimpressed, Konami. Ever since the first Wii version you're back on auto-pilot with PES.

Re: Get Fired Up Over Jett Rocket's New Gameplay Trailer
Yes, the graphics look nice, but Shin'En's problem has never been graphics.
It's that their games feel like watered-down versions of better games. And this one will likely be Ratchet & Clank, only worse.
Re: Nintendo Download 5th April 2010 (North America)
Yay Ironclad!
Re: Virtual Console Confirmed for DSiWare

Bravo, guys. I rarely fall for these, but this one is such a no-brainer that it SHOULD be real.
Maybe 3DS will make this a reality Super Mario Land in 3D!
Re: Feature: The Making of Star Fox

Re: Review: Super Mario 64 DS (DS)
I played through the whole game with the touch screen controls, and after a short learning curve I prefered them to the N64 controls.
They are fun, precise, and work VERY well. If you can't grasp them, it's not the game's fault.

Re: The Grinder Gets a Release Date; Goes Multi-Platform
Also, this game has a disturbing lack of corridors, and I have seen no evidence of being spawned into walls and/or floors.
