Switch makes a much stronger case for cloud than Stadia. You can still buy physical and digital but where it’s technically not possible to bring the game to Switch, this is a great solution. It’s not just graphics quality, the file size of some games doesn’t make regular release practical either. Cloud on Switch solves a clear problem and I think it will do well here.

Just tried the Control demo in performance mode and it ran great which is surprising as my internet is anything but. I’m all for more choice and options and this really opens up the door for more games on Switch that would otherwise never happen.
I won’t be buying Control or HM3 as I’m not particularly interested in these games but I wouldn’t rule out going the streaming route if it’s a game I really want and the price is right.

Yeah this one isn’t for me. Nice to revisit the world of BotW here but the gameplay just doesn’t keep my interest.

Can agree with some of the criticism here. The AI of your party members (or lack of) can be frustrating during more difficult boss fights. There’s definitely backtracking. The battle system takes some figuring out. But despite all of this I really enjoyed the game. Just make sure you’re well stocked on food and mana pots - oh and definitely make sure you’re L60 for phase 3 of the final boss, got wrecked there quite a few times (P1& 2) I did low 50s so a large spike there

Just finished this game last week! Really good game, had a lot of fun with it for 60 odd hours.

Would have been happy with a new take on the GI Joe NES games, those are surprisingly decent.
Have no hope for the new TF game either. Hope to see a review of that here soon.

The stock handheld controllers are awful though and I’m not talking about drift, they make my hands cramp. Bought a 3rd party set (horripad) and it’s night and day

I do play in handheld mode about 90% of the time as it’s much more comfortable to me than sitting in front of the TV. But the other 10% is when I’m playing couch co-op and those are some of the best gaming experiences I’ve had. Very thankful the Switch lets me enjoy games both ways thank you very much and happy to spend a bit more for the docking station. What does it matter anyways, there’s a Switch Lite for those that want just handheld gaming.

I think Nintendo are primed for a great 2021. Feel they might have held back a bit this year as they really didn’t need to do more do outperform their competitors. If they launch the Pro, and support it with BOTW 2 and 1 or 2 other top tier releases along with a strong supporting cast (similar to 2017) they should be more than ok.

None of the sales are grabbing me. Hopefully see a couple better sales going into Black Friday , there are a couple WiiU ports I wouldn’t mind double dipping on if they drop to $30. Astral Chain and Witcher 3 are still on my buy list as well

I bought FIFA 19 a while back when on sale and really enjoyed it. No desire at all for yearly updates so these legacy editions don’t bother me.

This one is definitely on my radar. Maybe getting a liiiiitttlllle bit tired of the NES style twitch platformer genre but this one has a bad ass ninja in it and it’s made by some of the best in the business - hope it turns out well!

Can’t agree with this. What it’s mastered is providing the ability to play handheld on the go or via TV - huge improvement on the WiiU where I had to plug in the console within a certain range of the tablet

Bought this for WiiU years ago for $20 as I enjoyed the demo way back then. I lost interest in it pretty quickly though and just haven’t felt the need to revisit it since.
Really amazed with Nintendo re-releasing this as a full price product, would think it would have a better chance at some newfound success at $40 tops

Looks absolutely awful to me. There is so much you can potentially do with the concept of transforming robots, yet it just gets shoehorned into this type of nonsense. And where’s the humor here , it’s all so joyless and over-the-top dramatic. Pass.

It looks pretty good but there’s one slight problem - I just never liked Alex Kidd very much, sorry!

Now a remake of Asterix / Obelix from the SMS, yes that I would buy no questions asked. Or any of the Mickey Illusion series really. But not this lol.

Yeah. Just can’t get excited about this release. If M64 had received the same treatment as the Crash Bandicoot collection, then absolutely I would have bought this. It’s a great game worth playing now but it could really do we a more impressive graphical update.

Sunshine is a game I never got into on the GC and I have no desire to revisit it now.

Galaxy is great but I’m not buying a full price release just for that.

Don’t really get this release when you can get the Contra collection half off quite often.

The pricing really leaves a sour taste in my mouth. When you think that the Contra collection comes with 7 games spanning 5 platforms for $20 , then this is just absurd. I get that Contra is more popular and the numbers may have to be a bit different, but this is well outside what I think is acceptable.

For a collection containing Turrican 1 & 2 (C64 and Amiga versions) , T3 for Amiga and MD and the 2 SNES Turrican games, I would have happily forked over $40 which is still twice as much as the Contra collection.

Since I love the series so much I’ll probably still pick up the first collection, but yeah... way to sour what should have been a great reveal.

Slim pickings. The only thing that’s caught my interest is the Turrican collections. Dont know when those are scheduled for release and the pricing is so ludicrous I’ll probably only buy the first collection.

There are still quite a few things on my want list though so it’s not code red just yet!

Yeah...gonna pass on this now. I would say I will wait on a sale but let’s be honest, that’s not gonna happen any time soon. Shame really as I love the art direction here but there doesn’t appear to be enough meat on the bones gameplay wise to keep me interested for long

Nothing of interest for me this week. Hanging tight until the reviews for Paper Mario come in. Bought way too many games during the summer sale event so I really have more than enough to keep me occupied for a while

Picked up Duke the other day because $5 - still a really fun game and this port is nicely done.

I might check out Ultracore when it’s on sale in the future.

I really do love Pac-Man DX on the X360 so am a bit interested in this De-make. Don’t have any interest in the other games bundled here though so it would need to be a good discount before I bite

Yeah I’m having a hard time getting riled up about this. As I mentioned in a previous thread, if I really wanted to play EA games that badly, I would buy a PS or whatever to do so. Not being able to play Their games on the Go isn’t giving me sleepless nights lol.

Do think that Sims on Switch makes a whole lot of sense given the success of a pretty similar game that’s been selling like hot cakes globally and because that type of genre fits well with the user base. But I wouldn’t by Sims myself either so no big deal for me personally

Yeah that sure is one underwhelming list. Look, I love NFS HP as much as the next person and for those who have never played it that’s a decent game still - but I don’t feel the need to double dip on that one.
The rest is all very meh to me personally, and can think of at least a couple of their older games that get people a bit more excited.

Is Euro-Style shooter code for Turrican-like game - well looks interesting will be checking out the reviews on this.

Ehh I think the proof is in the pudding. If there’s an opportunity to make money, companies like EA will play ball. We’re starting to see more and more ports from the bigger 3rd parties which tells me they do now see an opportunity to make some extra revenue. The Switch is selling well , but the combined IB of PS/Xbox/PC is of course much larger and that is where their focus will remain

If I really wanted to play the best and/or cheapest versions of what the likes of EA have to offer ... I would just buy a Xbox/PS/PC or lol Stadia. But I don’t really care about their output so much so I don’t. I do like having some of those experiences at least available to me and thankfully Switch is much better supported than previous Nintendo consoles.

I’m a simple man. If EA wants to create more Switch games, the more the merrier I say. They’re also pretty good with sales so there’s always the possibility to pick up some of their stuff at a good price later.

I know FIFA on Switch isn’t much liked around here but I had a good time with ‘19 myself. I only buy a FIFA game once every 6-8 years so wouldn’t have been interested even if ‘21 was “new”. Can understand why others aren’t impressed but it’s still a decent football game and there isn’t exactly a lot of competition on the Switch in that genre.

I would say Burnout is also already a nice addition to the Switch library and another genre that’s light over here. Just needs a price drop which I’m sure is not too far off.

Unravel Two is great and can always be found at the top of the sales charts whenever it gets discounted to $5

At this point I would take Advanced Wars 1+2 just optimized for Switch. Come on Nintendo!

I think it’s safe to say I’ve quit playing Animal Crossing now as I haven’t logged in really for 2 weeks - I’ve had a great time with it but I’m ready to play some other games now.

I’ve seriously been on a port buying spree lately. Still feeling out Borderlands 2, Grid & Ac Black Flag to see which game I’ll settle on to put some serious time in.

The last few levels of Trine 4 took much longer than anticipated. I’m at the final hurdle now so no excuse to not complete that game this weekend.

Interested in Burnout and Pac-Man , but pass for the time being

I played the demo and liked it enough to put on the wish list waiting for a sale. Then played it some more when it was available for free for a few days and it just reinforced that, yeah, it’s a fun enough game but it just doesn’t hook me in. I can see myself spending 5-10 hours of fun with it before losing interest and for a full price game, that’s just not good enough.
I really hope Nintendo re-releases a couple such games under a budget label at a price that fits a bit better. I have a feeling they’re not though and are building up their catalog of what they can offer under NSO.

Picked up so many games recently I’m having a hard time deciding which one to focus on. Should really start Borderlands 2, but GRID, AC Black Flag and Ni No Kuni are all good candidates as well.

Cuphead is King. Has completely set the standard for the genre

Bwahaha. Played a lot of this on my Master System 2 , but truth be told, not a huge fan of the game. I still played it because you know, only had like 7 MS games or so back then. Just compared to Castle of Illusion, Sonic & Asterix, it just isn’t that great really.

Don’t really care that it’s $5 or whatever elsewhere , can’t exactly expect EA to launch a port at that price. But I do think $30 ish is bit more realistic price point?
