Re: 50 Best Super Nintendo (SNES) Games Of All Time

Spookles

What a played out list this is. So many interesting games omitted in favour of 3 separate street fighter and donkey kong games.
I wish the writer would do a modern list that acknowledges 25 years worth of rom hacks and translations. So many absolutely incredible games have been released since (fire emblem games, secret of mana 2, front missions to name some very big hitters)

I worked at game for a while. When I first arrived I was given a locker and to my surprise, whoever had my locker before me had left a 1 litre bottle of absinthe in there! I told no one and spent the next month drinking it during lunch and toilet breaks. It took the edge off the job for a while and life was fine. Then my long time girlfriend dumped me and the twin towers were destroyed. I couldn’t bare working there but I couldn’t face quitting. Christmas came around and a man came in and purchased 12 brand new PS2s. I was working the till. I asked him if he wanted to buy a loyalty card for £2 because he’d get £30 back in points. He wasn’t interested. The consoles were prizes or something. He suggested I used my card to have his points and in the moment I said yes because if I didn’t, I’d have been ***** over for my low swipe rate. At the end of that month I received a voucher in the post for £40 and a letter of thanks from game for being such a great customer. I knew it was over.
I went to work, got sacked for gross misconduct and was banned from setting foot in every game store in the uk.
I still occasionally go into game stores.

@Thief I never said they should lose it. I’d just like to see them put some focus on some of the older franchises that have been dead in the water. Having Intelligent Systems only work on fire emblem games is also disappointing. What about a new advance wars (not the remake by WayForward, but a proper new entry in the series) or something new entirely? Or force them at gunpoint to make a really good paper Mario game.

Like someone else mentioned, F-Zero. There’s a game that needs to be brought back.

@SilverM fair enough. Not going to argue the toss. I’ve been waiting for a pikmin game forever so that’s very welcome. I’ll believe prime 4 when I see it. I just feel like I’m bored to tears of the only big flagship titles being Pokémon and fire emblem.

It just feels a bit uninspiring to me. The last few years have lacked the Nintendo magic in my opinion. I’m probably just old.

Re: Random: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Mod Adds Awesome Sonic 'Green Hill Zone' Course

And suddenly it makes sense. All these years, sonic team have been attempting to create a 3D platformer based on sonic when what they really needed to do was create a 3D racing gaming and just ditch the notion of platforming!

Imagine a 3D sonic game where the focus was on navigating the levels using some kind of interesting drift, boost mechanic and it wasn’t bogged down with having road stops of enemies and superficial platforming sections.

Genius. Huge respect to the maker of that track for showing the way.

Re: Video: We Make Some Wild Not-E3 Nintendo Direct Predictions

I am hoping the snes library gets updated with 3 new unpopular games that received below average review scores when they were first released. Maybe:

Aero the Acrobat 2
Rise of the Robots
Mario is missing

Three games that are sure to challenge even the most dedicated Nintendo fan to bother updating the app.

Re: Stealth Game 'UNDETECTED' Gives Off Serious Metal Gear Solid Vibes

This looks a little bit lame. ‘Being inspired by’ is one thing but this looks like it falls into the category of ‘bad copy’. The characters don’t look as interesting, the graphics don’t have the polish of an old ps1 game, the environments look boring.

However… it has made me want to play metal gear solid 1 again so I owe it that.

Re: Nintendo Is Adding Another 3DS Course To Mario Kart Tour

@HedgehogEngine hey! And thanks for necroresponding! Yeah, I actually did notice this. The poly count is lower, lack of environmental assets, the textures are very basic and lack the detail of the wii u switch versions. Still, The lighting can do a lot with this type of thing so i’m quite excited. Also, I'm also really glad that Nintendo saw my post, realised the logic of what I proposed and went ahead and made it into a thing.

Re: Nintendo Is Adding Another 3DS Course To Mario Kart Tour

Classic lame nintendo. They are making these courses and these asset (I assume) wouldn’t be a huge job for a small team within nintendo to port over to the switch version as either paid or free DLC.

I mean, it’s already there. It’s been made, players tested, the textures, lighting, geometry are all on a par with the switch. Why not just put it in? It’s not as if mario kart 8 isn’t one of the best selling Nintendo games of all time.

As usual, very weak.
