Re: Ike Joins the Battle in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS

That is awesome! I am quite surprised... I felt they would have replaced him with Chrom. I was very much hoping to see Chrom in the game, but I can't complain. I was always best with Ike in Smash Bros Brawl! Super excited! I do hope they bring Chrom, although it seems kinda doubtful now with two Fire Emblem characters. =/

Re: Feature: Memories of the Wii and DS Wi-Fi Connection Era

I was watching a Mario Kart Wii stream on Twitch right up until the point where the servers died at 10AM EST. It was pretty cool. For me, my Nintendo WFC memories consisted of: Pokemon (Various) battles/trading, Goldeneye online MP on Wii, Conduit 1 and 2 online MP for Wii, a little Smash Bros online when I could, and some Mario Kart Wii online (and Mario Kart TV). Didn't really use it outside of these.

Re: Monster Hunter Team Discusses Continuing Evolution and Growth of the Franchise

@Warruz Fact is, MH4U will be only on the 3DS. The 3DS itself is not oriented towards kids, but everyone. More people have the 3DS than the WiiU, so facts are, MH4U would sell better being for 3DS. It's not going to help or hinder the game at all. The kind of people that play Monster Hunter and are looking forward to MH4U, will buy it to matter what it's on. And for new people, there's still MH3U. Oh and handhelds are a "thing" over here too. It's different, I know, but they are still a LARGE part of gaming.

Re: Talking Point: For Better Or For Worse, The Wii U GamePad Is Here To Stay

I don't see how anyone can complain about the gamepad... it has so much functionality. Being able to play almost every game off-TV or multi-screen coop is amazing.... and besides this, it's very useful even playing games ON the TV. I play Call of Duty and Monster Hunter using the Pro Controller on my TV, and I'll keep the gamepad around for quick switching items, looking at the map, the players connected to my game room, etc. This thing needs to stay for the entire life of the console. The only thing I would wish, hardware wise, is if they added a microphone port to the pro controllers.

@Warruz Good point about the West, but it does not have to be a couch game to succeed. Now, if it came out on both, I'm sure the WiiU would sell more, but take a look at all the big 3DS titles that are ONLY on there. Pokemon for example. Very VERY successful and only a handheld game. I don't think it will ever reach the popularity here, as it is in Japan though. Heck, they have Monster Hunter theme parks over there! Haha

Re: Final Skylanders SWAP Force Figure, Doom Stone, Makes Début At Toys "R" Us On 13th May

SphericalCrusher

Looks nice. My family and I collected all of the figures from Skylanders and Skylanders Giants, minus all legendary ones... and we have 30-40 figures for Swap Force, but I am done collecting all of them, due to a new game hitting every year. Since we have over 100 figures, we'll just buy one type of the kinds we need outside the starter pack, and go from there. Maybe buy a new one every now and then on an occasion.

Re: Nintendo Looking To "Harvest" 3DS Success To Avoid An "Unacceptable" Fourth Year Of Losses

SphericalCrusher

I don't think the 3DS is ever going to lose it's momentum, and I really feel that once WiiU gains momentum, it will be good to go as well. As far as the NFC things — I don't see it overtaking Skylanders by any means, but I don't think it will try to compete or tap into that player base much IMO. I think it will probably be it's own thing, and more affordable. Nonetheless, I hope this is going to be a great year for Nintendo! They have been around since 1889, so they know how to stand the test of time!

Re: Infinity Ward Merges With Neversoft To Form Super Studio, Retains Infinity Ward Name

SphericalCrusher

Man that is crazy that Neversoft name is gone. I remember it meant a lot more back in the day of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater in the PS1 era. But to answer your question, I did buy both Call of Duty games on WiiU - Black Ops 2 and Ghosts. I am very much looking forward to Advanced Warfare and hope it hits WiiU so I can buy it there. Both CoDs played fantastic on WiiU, from the gamepad's functionalities, to playing off-TV completely. I always love having friends over and playing multi-screen local coop as well. Please, bring this game to WiiU!

Re: Mario Kart 8 Smart Device Website or App on the Way

SphericalCrusher

That is awesome! Personally, I am a huge fan of the game tie-in apps on mobile devices. Halo, Assassin's Creed, Battlefield, Call of Duty etc are all sweet. When I'm at work, doing IT work orders, I can always open it up while waiting on installs to do things, etc. It works out great.
